The specifics are currently lost on me as I did this many months ago but I can give you a very brief rundown and I'm 100% confident one of the plethora of more technically inclined forumites can tell you the rest.

As far as I'm aware, you need to download the Dragon Age Character Creator (I think that's what it's called...) off the internet first. You notice how a lot of people here have customized Dragon Age characters as avatars? Well that's where they come from -- you make a character through there and submit the face into BSN through some interface i the program, I think.

Anyway, obviously that might not be what you want to do so what you do instead is after you make a character, you like... replace the pic in the appropriate folder with what you actually want. It involves setting something to "read-only" too... I don't quite recall the specifics, I'm sorry. =(

I'm making it sound way more complicated than it actually is, though, I promise you. It's very quick and mostly painless, I just don't remember, haha. Someone will tell you though I'm positive.

Haha, oh, I believe it. All you had to do was mention the siblings. I was an only child but I have a friend who was one of five. I think he came out of that with... maybe half his brain cells? LOL.

I believe it really suits because Shepard and Ashley were lovers seperated by Death, though they were bitterly reunited with Shepard's rebirth as a cyborg. They no longer have an understand of each other, Shepard has lost 2 years of his life and Ashley has had to carry the emotional baggage of her lost lover. Shepard (mine) wants to survive his ordeal so he can get back to her, but there is no way he can do that since he shackled to the metaphorical devil (TIM.).

I haven't ever done that, but I must say that scene is lovelier then I'd ever imagined it to be. It also makes for an interesting situation, a love he isn't sure if he should pursue.

@Aurora; That's certainly a nice Shepley-after the reunition at Horzion- song. Fits very well.

Also I came across this song not to long ago, it instantly reminded me of Ashley thinking of Shepard, but then I realized it could also work the other way 'round: Shepard thinking of Ash. I aslo like how a word like horizon fits in in Shepley's story so well.

*everyone but Shepard cheer in agreement. Shepard looks up at the sky and helplessly and silently pleads 'Why?'*

Besides that, I dunno if I could deal with an Ashley-type. I'm not tall (5'9" or so) and not buff and therefore, not a bleep on Ash-type's radar

yes. Chris Letoile has done an amazing job at creating a life like

Nop, I think I'll cry, at least for the first time when I have to decide against her and can't do anything to prevent her death. It can happen, however, and I'm sure BW will force us to sacrifice some of our squadmates, but not Ashley. We had that talk before ... at least with Aurora I believe: Shepard will take everything the universe throws at him, but only as long as he has Ashley at his side. Without her, he won't be a complete man anymore.

Agreed. Shepard would be at such a breaking point by the end of this series, that he would pretty much require the LI to help him maintain what little grip he can on reality. His sanity and mental stability has been shaken so much, that it's not impossible for the afforementioned point to come true.

Yep. Guess that's one of many possible ends - at least that's what I'm hoping for.

I just wonder why BW never added a "degeneration" of Shepard's mental stability. That could be an interesting feature for ME3 - since Shepard has to face even more horrors than in ME1 and ME2 together, s/he will suffer not only physically but also mentally. The first real "bump" is when s/he realized s/he was brought back from the dead. Technically spoken, ME2!Shepard is not (!) the same person as ME1!Shepard.

Interesting fact: as much as Shepard is Ashley's beacon, it's also Ashley for Shepard. Could also be for any other LI, I don't know, but it works for Shepley perfectly. They're both soldiers, both determined and both able to take a lot of punishment before breaking down. While Ashley tries to be "better than the best", Shepard is "gifted" and IS the best of the best. Maybe that's why he's the first human Spectre, Ashley (if she has survived Virmire) the second.
They fit well together and do so even more if your Shepard is NOT a Soldier class but a class that relies on Ashley as soldier.

So if Shepard dies in ME3, Ashley will suffer a breakdown - and this time it's more likely she won't recover. If Ashley dies, same goes for Shepard. Maybe the following rage fuels his drive to finish the job, but once it's over Shepard will break - this time forever.

My Shepard already lost one lover - the week before their wedding no less - during the Skyllian Blitz and it took him years to get over it. The first serious relationship he had since then was with Ashley, so he was already emotionally screwed.

In my canon, two people are helping primarily to his emotional health: Pierce and Williams. At one point in time, he loses them both (not dead, just not around with him) and his mentality is - f*ck you all, I'm doing things my way. Pierce comes back, he gets some level of grounding. Ash comes back, he's got his two confidants back, he's ok. (Really paraphrased way to say it, but essentially the way it is.)

Hehe, that's your universe. In mine Shepard doesn't have Pierce. If he had a girlfriend in the past I can't tell and it doesn't really matter. What DOES matter is his relationship to Ashley. Even the toughest dude needs someone who understands him. And that's Ashley. Actually, I felt really bad WITH Shepard after the meeting at Horizon. He sounded so heartbroken when he talked to Kelly - in the german dub.

Poor guy. Hope he and Ash will get through ME3. They have to

I suppose my Shepard's lucky to have a sister then, even if she's not blood-related. And most fortuitous that they're both professional rivals, therefore trying to push each other to the top. Ash jumping in helped Shepard to get over his first lover and open up romantically again (though he needed the same kick in the ass that he gave Pierce ) Gotta love siblings

Shepard: Palaven?
Joker: That's the right one.
Shepard: Great. Anything on the sensors yet?
Joker: Nope. Just the usual - several Reaper ships, but they're currently not attacking the planet. The surface itselfs appears undamaged.
Shepard: So it's not the "usual".
Ashley: Skip, all three teams are prepared, we're just waiting for you.
Shepard: Joker, get to the landing zone as close as possible. The less time we need to place that EEZO-EMP, the less time the Reapers will have to react.
Joker: Aye, Sir.
Shepard: Ashley, I don't want to see you next to the bomb. I always have a bad feeling since Virmire when it comes to bombs and guarding duty.
Ashley: I know, John ... I won't leave you.
Shepard: Thanks. Miranda will be with us, Garrus is leading team 1, Jacob team 2.
Ashley: I hoped Miranda wouldn't be with us ...
Shepard: She's a good biotic. Samara isn't with us anymore and Jack is still in the sickbay ... that makes her to the best choice.
Ashley: Yes, I know. I just ... I still don't trust her. She's still wearing her Cerberus attire.
Shepard: Ash, Miranda is part of this crew. Like all of the other guys she went through hell and came back. She won't stab me to death once I point my back on her.
Ashley: I'll make sure she wont, Skip.
Shepard: Miranda had so many opportunities to kill me ... and she didn't.
Ashley: I know ... it's just ... I dunno.
Shepard: Just focus on that mission, Ash, like always.

Shepard: Still doesn't stop me from wanting the real thing. A fake can't replace the real thing, no matter how cuddly it is.
Ashley: Speaking of cuddling...
Shepard: You have something in mind?
Ashley: Maybe.
Shepard: I like how you think, Ashy.
