So, I've created one of my friends Shepard's in NHL12 when I found out that you can make a female player. This makes me think about what sports would Ashley play...*imagines Ashley playing football*

Hmm. I've never posted in this topic, and Ashley is possibly my favorite Mass Effect character.

It's funny though, she really only finally got through to me during my final run through of ME1 with my male character before ME2 came out. I had her with me when I was helping Samesh Bhatia, and the compassion she showed sort of made me realize that she was a great character.

I'm doing preparation for ME3 again, so I was playing ME1 today and doing that part over and over to remember which outcome I liked best. I knew I liked seeing Ash tell Samesh about how much Nirali loved him, but I was surprised when I realized you have to get Nirali's body returned to get her to say that. I had always thought with my male Paragon character that I chose to let the Alliance keep the body. But when I chose one of the responses to Clerk Bosker about "not losing our humanity", I realized that was the way my Paragon was supposed to go - it's the same reasoning for destroying the Collector base. So in a way, Ashley helped me stay true to my character!

It's a shame I love Yvonne Strahovski so much. When I learned she was Miranda, I basically HAD to keep my options open. In my original pre-ME2 game, I was mean to Ashley at the lockers, using Kaidan's death as a reason for his short temper. But that didn't produce a very meaningful reunion for ME2.

So I'm thinking of taking it all the way this time, at least to the cabin scene. Maybe I'll snap at her once during the lockdown. After that, what do you guys think? Should I resist Ashley's charms or..."cheat" on her in ME2? Although it won't really be cheating, since I only plan to take Miranda's romance to the "this isn't the time, let's be friends" stage.

As far as I can see most Ashley-fans are Miranda-fans as well or vice versa. As a woman type they're quite close - both black haired beautiful women. However, Ashley comes with a latin influence while Miranda is 100% caucasian with not even a hint of something different. Their characters are entirely different in most ways, but they also share some common features: Ashley wants to prove herself, Miranda too. Both have issues with their families - Williams got blacklisted, Miranda has "daddy issues". Both care a lot of their families and both are "big sisters" and important for their younger siblings.

The biggest difference between both is, besides their appearance, the amount of "sex". Miranda is straight forward -made- to be sexy. Ashley looks quite normal for a stranger, she's more "hidden sexy". That makes her far more sexy to me than Miranda ... but that's just my oppinion.
In a word: Miranda is dead sexy at first sight, Ashley is dead sexy once you know her better and get past her tough shell.


Ashley fans could go after Miranda / Miranda fans not experienced with ME can go after Ashley in ME3. They're both interesting characters.

Oh and by the way - g'morning everyone. Have a skyhigh pile of work to do, so I'll just lurk most times and will drop a posting or two before going home in 10 hours ... not including this one.

Very good. It's nice to finally see Ashley in some proper armor in addition to her new outfit, even if it is a bit blurry. Given that we can see both styles, her current outfit and long hair and her hair in a bun in proper armor I guess I was right in assuming that we can switch between the two. Which is good because although I did object to her current outfit on the basis that Ashley the character is a soldier and thus should wear soldier things on the battlefield... off the battlefield is another story and I see no problem with her wearing stylish and sexy clothing and looking dignified while doing while on board a ship, not in immediate danger of a firefight brewing.
I admit it, I like her current outfit. Especially the red and white CE version of it, I would like to see her wear that but actually put on formidable armor when on missions.
A combination of sexy and badass, best of both worlds.

P.S I'm back in Tokyo now, hence I have computer access.

I take it that you're assuming that most of the ME2 team is off-hull, then? Honestly, considering the characters, it's a minor miracle that the SR2 survived long enough to get boarded by the Collectors.

Have also several.

- ME: all dialogues between Ash & Shepard - especially the later ones.
- ME: the "Locker Scene"
- ME: Making out
- ME: When you had Ash in your team in the last mission and Shepard is believed to be dead.

- ME2: Horizon when Ash screens Shepard's face to make sure it IS him plus the hug. Rest is meh -> awful

Fictional? Lemme see ... the one fic I wrote a while ago when Ash is checking Shepard's computer in the loft and she finds out he's still in love with her.

Some other stuff will follow in my lunch break ...

And, if IIRC, right after the convo, in the Presidium Tower,  where the Normandy is grounded - she says she has your back. (or something like that - been a while since I last played ).

Same here. Currently lack any good ideas.

However - three more "Shepleys":


Fictional: Shepard's death and Ashleys reaction. I think she's more than just sad & broken, and will go through all moments she had with Shepard. Despite the fact they had just a few months together, it seems to her as Shepard had more influence on her life than you would think.

Reunion in ME3. I think this could be quite romantic, if Shepard didn't break up / went for another LI.

Fictional: Post war, just a couple of days, when Shepard finally realizes that for the first time in more than three years (including the "dead" years) he truly found peace - in Ashley's arms

The reason I began capturing the videos I startet linking lately, is because some of those conversations are so awesome, that I sometimes just want to watch them without starting up the game. I am working on a playlist of my own favourite Mass Effect, Ashley, Shepley moments.

One of my favourites is, when Ashley tells us about her family and you pick the Renegade option "Yes charming!" and Shep mocks about the Wiliams family running around green fields, singing show tunes and Ash replies: "Don't knock show tunes - I might have to take exception!"
This brings me to the fictional moment, because Ewan started the Karaoke-night tradition after that and, when they sang some show tunes together, they began to fall in love.

As for Anna, I would love to see something like that.

So when do they start touring? Or are the going to release an album first.  When you say karaoke do you mean just Shep and Ash, or do you mean (This is what I picture) that everyone is joining in, somehow I see Garrus as the most dedicated karaoke singer of them all.

And so far it's turned out pretty handy that you have those moments captured, it's a good memory refresher.

@Data&Aurora; Oh I have plenty of good ideas for my fic, if only I could get past the point I'm hopelesly stuck on.

And if, it'll be different from yours.

Another moment:

Ashley recovering a badly wounded Shepard after the last battle. Shepard is closer to death than life - but somehow Ashley manages it to carry him back to the Normandy. His words to her: "Now we're even ... " (regarding how he saved her first time on Virmire).

I'm stumped with Roxanna+John too. I'm tempted to start it again, but I need to make their meeting plausible. I suppose with Anderson backing down, the Normandy crew roster is down one, so Rox could slip in like that... but I want Ash and Rox to have a rivalry as soon as they get J to the Normandy after he's taken to sickbay.

Edit: then again. I could just put fillar crap in with Nilihus and Rox discussing her record and involvement with torfan.

Pierce & Ashley competing for Shepard? Dunno if that works ... after all, you said Pierce is kinda a sis to Shepard.

I still have dozens of moments in my mind, not all of them are sad and not all of them are Shepley exclusive. One is a double date with Joker & Tali in the Flux just a few hours before the Citadel is under attack by Reapers.
