Personally, I believe Ashley is deeper and funnier to me, so I would go with Ash, but they are very similar in many respects so the choice initially might have been tougher.

However, this page needs an Ashley:

Ashley: Skip, what's up? You look awful.
Shepard: Thanks, Ash. Got another nightmare ...
Ashley: Wanna talk about it?
Shepard: Not really, Ash. It's the same stupid dream. We're losing the war, Reapers destroying Earth, Palaven, ...
Ashley: Still? We won the war. The Reapers are gone. We made it and we saved our friends, our allies.
Shepard: Maybe. Maybe not. Somehow I think this is just another nightmare and we're still in the middle of a war. Or worse.
Ashley: Worse?
Shepard: When you're dying, you can "watch" your life like a movie. Maybe that's it? Maybe I'm dying right now, somewhere in space ...
Ashley: Skip, lemme prove this is not a stupid review before death ... *kisses him gently on his lips* And - does that feel real or not?
Shepard: Mind if you give me another proof?
Ashley: *laughs* Make me!

That's the glory of multiple Playthroughs, you can pick Ashley and one and Miranda in another, it's not just one thing and then you don't get to play. That's how I've romanced every LI and seen all the dialogues and situations.Meldwyn301 wrote...
If Miranda and Ashley were both in ME1 and you had to choose between the two, which one becomes your LI?
Personally, I believe Ashley is deeper and funnier to me, so I would go with Ash, but they are very similar in many respects so the choice initially might have been tougher.

I wish I had that kind of patience with games. Games can be like books for me, its tough to read them multiple times. While I have gone through ME2 twice and ME1 once (going through a second time now), it can get a little monotonous and boring in some situations. But, there is plenty of time before ME3, so I want at least two different Shepards to import.

Another Ashley for the page:

Can't believe it. He is alive. How, why? And why was he on Horizon? I knew he was working for Cerberus, but it was still a shock when I saw him. He looked the same, he spoke the same, but he wasn't my Skipper anymore. Oh Shepard ... why did you come back? Why didn't you stay with the dead? Things are far more complicated now - I don't know if I hate you and what you became, or if I'm still in love with you. Should I thank God for bringing you back? Or should I hate the fiend who plays games with me? Death should close all ...
- Ashley Williams, shortly after her Horizon Mission.

That's called "imagination" or "fan fiction" or simply: that's a quote I created for Ashley to make her more believeable in my universe
Just love to play with her character. She's incredible interesting and easy to "extend" - without making her less believeable. Another reason why I love Ashley.
Must say I should write a line or two telling you guys what are facts (canon / BW stuff) and fiction (fictional quotes in my mind and such).

Nope. And the last time I checked I wasn't in staff of BW and this one is just a "scraped" quote.ADLegend21 wrote...
I think they're original.
Seriously, AD - it's just a nice hobby to write those "quotes" for Ashley. Just need to mark them as "fan fiction" so nobody gets confused anymore. And nope, I don't think I'm good enough for BW and such. I'm a realist ... besides that: Canada is far, far away ...
Then again:

Please, BW, lemme write Ash dialogues for ya :innocent:

It would really depend on the Shepard I want to play. I like both Miranda and Ash that's why I have multiple Shepards.

I was thinking perhaps a snippet of Tears, Idle Tears by Tennyson when they talk about when Shepard was dead, that poem might have gone through Ashley's head from time to time.
For context:
T'EARS, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depth of some divine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy autumn-fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.
'Fresh as the first beam glittering on the sail,
That brings our friends up from the underworld,
Sad as the last which reddens over one
That sinks with all we love below the verge;
So sad, so fresh, the days that are no more.
'Ah, sad and strange as in dark summer dawns
The earliest pipe of half-awaken'd birds
To dying ears, when unto dying eyes
The casement slowly grows a glimmering square;
So sad, so strange, the days that are no more.
'Dear as remember'd kisses after death,
And sweet as those by hopeless fancy feign'd
On lips that are for others; deep as love,
Deep as first love, and wild with all regret;
O Death in Life, the days that are no more.'

Well seeing as this is the Ash support thread we will all say Ash, lol. Both respective characters are great, anyway let's try not to turn this into a character VS thread people

Shepard let out a disbelieving laugh. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that?"
The shrink nodded and repeated his words slowly. "Do you think that the reason you're holding onto your paranoid delusions of this,"He paused to air-quote. "Invading 'Reaper' army concept, is because of unresolved issues with your father figure?"
Shepard gave him a look, "Why would I have unresolved issues with my father?"
Ashey echoed, folded one ankle of the other in her chair."Yea, why would he have unresolved issues with his father?"
The shrink raised his hands slowly and calmly, almost patronising the couple. "I'm just trying to understand where this problem originates from so we can help John here move on from his schizophrenia."
Shepard scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Don't call me 'John'. You're not my friend. I do not ever want to be friends with you. We're just two people doing our jobs. Or rather, you're making up bullish!t, and I can't go back to work until I get your stamp of approval."
Ashley then cut in with a scowl and near enraged tone. "So you're calling the beings that DECIMATED earth, DECIMATED the galaxy and left the inhabitants in totally chaos and anarchy nothing more than a figment of my Mal's imagination? Are you serious, or just retarded?"
"Told by the lady." Shepard said with a cocky smirk.
"Please calm down Ma'am, there's no need to get violent."
"Oh, there's plenty need to get violent. Now here's what you're going to do." Ash rose from her chair, both hands on the Shrink's desk as she calmly spoke her next words. "You are going to take that sheet of paper, you are going to evaluate Mal as mentally sound. You are going to sign it, and then we will walk out of here with the copy and original and go back to protecting a galaxy full of ignorant morons exactly like you. Sound fair?"
"Y-y-yes ma'am!" The Shrink stammered with her imposing presence, following her instructions exactly before handing her the documents. Shepard silently followed her out, laughing inwardly at the doctor's expression.
"That was so -" Shepard began outside.
"Inspired?" Ashley shrugged, handing him the papers that he folded and placed in his pocket.
"Sexy."
Ash raised a seductive eyebrow. "You liked that?"
"I loved that. Nice abuse of authority." Ashley chuckled, sliding her arms around his waist.
"Be warned, I'm about to abuse it again."
Shepard smiled coyly, "Oh? And how would you do that, Commander?"
"Up in the Normandy loft in twenty minutes Major. I think its time for an assessment of your physical condition." Ashley ordered, move her hand down to pinch his butt.
"See you there in ten, Commander." Shepard replied close to her ear with a husky tone of voice before kissing her on the lips. "Anything I need, Ma'am?"
"Just you're damn fine ass."

Rox: *rushes to defuse it.*
Ashley: Please tell me that's not a bomb.
Rox: It's not a bomb.
Shepard: It's a huge f*cking bomb.
Rox: And defused.
Shepard: Do I want to know how much time was left?
Ashley: *peers at the timer.* No, you really don't.
Shepard: *hand to radio* Admiral. Permission to leave the station.
Hackett: *over radio* For what purpose, Major?
Shepard: They sent us a package we didn't order. Figured it'd be manners to return it.
Hackett: Permission granted.
Shepard: Ok - lets get this baby moving *grunts as he tries to shift it towards the elevator. Ash+Rox help.*
Ashley: You know, I can tell what you're thinking. And it's bat-sh!t crazy.
Shepard: And? Stay here.
Ashley: Unfortunately. I like crazy.
Rox: Are you planning to die with the bomb.
Shepard: No, that'd be stupid. Something better.
Ashley: Improvised bombing run, then?
Shepard: 'Bam' says the lady.
Rox: Me like.
Ashley: Just one question, what if you miss?
Shepard: Ash - who are you talking to?
Ashley: Right.
Rox: So are we planning to board it afterwards?
Shepard: One step at a time.
Ashley: That's a yes. Crap.
Shepard: Hey - I was the one who got spaced. I'm scared ****less and I'm doing this.
Rox: Said with a deadpan.
Ashley: Hard to imagine the great Major Shepard as scared. Can't picture you cowering in the corner with your tail between your legs.
Shepard: Oh I get scared. Nothing a little liquor can't cure.
Ashley: Are you saying you fight drunk?
Shepard: No I'm saying I fight hungover.
Ashley: Doesn't that - I don't know - Impair your ability to give commands?
Shepard: Nah - Though it adds a certain urgency to missions.
Rox: Yea, so he can go back and get a hangover shot.
Shepard: When this is over, I'm gonna smack you.
Ashley: Nah - Not you. That'd just be creepy. Get Vega to do it.
Shepard: Kinky. I like it!
Rox: ... I'm hunting you both when this is over....

It's over. The war has been over for a year now. The Normandy has been returned to John's care and everyone understands that he's a hero. The hero who defeated the Collectors, Reapers and everything he had done was to further that goal and secure a galactic peace. Those still calling for his execution were drowned out by the thrones of supporters and those whose lives he saved. I wish I could say that Mal is the same as ever. He tries to act like it, but when he thinks no one is looking, the bravado cracks and the damage and mental fatigue of the last five years shows through.
It never happens out in the open, but when we're alone. I hear him wake up screaming, or in a cold sweat, or even letting a few tears through. He won't sleep after that.
It hurts. This war took many things from Malcolm Shepard. Mal Shepard used to have a childish side, playing jokes and pranks on the crew on more than one occasion. An eagerness and drive that surpassed that of all his peers. An indomitable will to survive and a determination to keep his loved ones safe. Over time, these traits too, seen as his best, had withered away. Leaving behind nothing more than a bitter, cynical and pessimistic shadow of what used to be great man.
What a sad creature...
edit: Duet Effect Chapter 3 uploaded. No Ash, unfortunately. Though she makes a debut in the next.
