@aurora: Imo, we should have fun and not take anything too seriously, but I also think there should be a balance and it should be clear, what you are actually talking about. On top of that, my opinion isn't the one that matters anyway. A few more thoughts on that might be helpful!

@brain: How could I forget about Whitman. No supper for me today!
"Green Hills of Earth" is a story, yes, but there is a song in it and I think she was going to recite that.

So, what? Label clearly what is fan-fictional and what is not when writing?

I also think we should try to compile facts, Like CptData suggested to support that Ashley is not in fact racist but cautious. Too many people are not making that distinction. They merely paint her in-experience as racism. Enough is enough.

Also, A top Ash please?

Now the racism-thing is a subject that's gets beaten to death, then resurrected by Cerberus only to be beaten to death again..and so the vicious circle continues. I've just accepted that that's the way it is, if people really can't see it I won't blame them.
(I try to keep out of the discussion since it doesn't lead anywhere for either party)

I suppose. It might be better to not use Lazarus Project Infinity-point-oh on that subject.... -.-

But it's better than nothing to pass the time.

All points above are very valid. I agree! As I said in my last post, I am a little bit frustrated with BW and their approach to news and information on ME3.

Probably what I need to do is busy myself elsewhere until such time as there are things relevant to discuss (i.e. some new trailer that has Ash in it).

If you will allow for some unsolicited feedback on some of the fanfics... I see real creativity and skill/art coming through most if not all of them. However, I have to admit, that I have stopped reading them due to two things... 1. new characters included that I have no idea who they are. 2. liberal use of curse words with characters that I don't associate with that.

Otherwise, however, I believe those who post their dialogues on here have some real talent and might want to pursue this as a hobby or potential source of income at some point.

Funny you should mention that, cause i'm planning to become a graphic novelist. :D

Trying to draw a fan-art of Shepley... didn't work out to great... -.-

Ashley was sitting in the loft and Shepard using her as a pillow while hugging a model or something - never got that far into it. Lol. Pretty sure he was topless... or he was breaking his soveriegn model in half.... erm.. I dunno. I lost it in my desk somewhere.

Interesting point here.  I never saw her as racist... way too liberal use of that in the USA right now anyway, so I think its easy to place people in this category (even fictional ones).

Brief story about changing people's opinions of Ash...

I am in a prelaunch guild for Star Wars: The Old Republic.  We have a forum and talk about various things, including other games... i.e. ME series.  Anyway, I have, through various posts, convinced a few guildies to give Ash a try since they had written her off early in ME1.  They are now on the Ash bandwagon, I am happy to report.

Seriously, if more people would take the time to paragon dialogue with her and get to know her character, they would find that ASH IS WORTH IT, every time!

Pursue your dreams, and don't let anything/anyone squelch them!  :)

I only ask that I get a free signed copy of your first novel!  :P

Congratulations. It's wonderful to hear that. Loyalty to Ash for life.

Though I think Brainheart has a point. Its old, repeatedly ripped open wound that will probably never fade.

Im just wondering right now, how will they do the 'Last time on Mass Effect 1+2' if someone creates a new Shepard in 3...

I'm still in college at the moment. My skills are no where near that level yet. I'm still having issues just drawing people and landscapes. Stories are really no issue for me.

Agreed, the discussions have actually been quite serious the last few days, where are the ones about having gyms on the normandy and a games room- for all your Skyllian Five and Pooling. Although that kind of topic usually seems to end up with talking about sexy times...or maybe that's just me.Posted Image

Ah well that makes sense, I should look it up, it has me intrigued now..

I have a tendency to get obsessively serious about things, I admit.

Shepard+Ash: Yes! You do -!

Shut up, both of you. And I think that you're posting what everyone enviably starts to think when it comes to those things, Brain :D

I agree, once I have gotten these topics out of my system, I let them go about it, they don't matter to me, but if it is important for some of you,go ahead and compile facts on it.

@aurora:
I, myself, don't have a problem to distiguish between the fic and the info/discussion, well apart from yesterday, lol, but I can see, that it might be difficult for someone, who isn't as familiar with this thread, so clearly labeling it fanfic might be a good idea. What does everyone else think?

@brain:
I am so harsh on myself as Whitman is actually one of my personal favourites.

Goodnight, Ash ... err Aurora *g*

Hey, I think there's a spot of Ashley's past we never talked about - or did we? What about her duty with the 212th? That very unit that god killed on New Eden with Ash being the last survivor. Dunno how she made it, but she's there and supporting Shepard with guns & emotions. It's a bit awkward to say it's good her unit died so she could join the Normandy's crew, isn't it?

I'm not sure if it'll change things really, I'm not so bothered by it myself, but it might indeed be handy for newcomers to the thread, just as not to scare them away.

Oh he's one of your favorites...No supper indeed! Shame on you, you'll get Ashley sad!Posted Image'(Should I label this bit of the comment as redundant? or silly?)

Does it now? Soo, how do we stand on Ashley and Shepard having a nightly game of pool, after enjoying a tasty boozebeaverage? Posted Image (g'night)

I appreciate how she is introduced running for her life, although I think she should have taken shots at the Geth that were about to impale the farmer... But maybe I would have stared in disbelief as well before running for my life.

She is clearly shaken at that point! She is actually in a perfect position for a paragon Shepard to help her out and ease her on to the team with reassuring words.

Oh man ... I definitely feel sick. Any ideas?

How would Ashley treat an ill Shepard? Not a wounded Shep, but one that got a cold?
In one way I can see her as caring girlfriend that tries making him feel comfortable, but I also can see her a bit gruff: "c'mon, Skip, it's just a cold. There's a galaxy to save, time to get up and fight!" virtually booting him into action.

(Ashley lacks news and it shows)

I guess it'd depend on how sick Shepard was, lol... AND if he was whining and complaining about it... I'm pretty sure she'd get annoyed by that...

random thought from reading the Kaidan thread:

Ashley going a bit overboard with the Spectre gear and her quarters have the Spectre Logo on everything: Bed sheets, night stand, lamp, dresser, closet doors, TV, terminal, and everythign in her wardrobe.

Honestly i could imagine Ashley's quarters having a dart set (a-la Zaeed's) with a face of Udina right in the middle of it.
