well Sean Shepard isn't my cannon. cause my cannon loves ash. i was maleshep/liara but i don't so now.
ah i see,for a second there i thought you were one of those turn coats who left ash for miranda after horizon and then saw her new look at E3 and started kicking yourself.
we ash fans try to be low key and welecomeing......but i cannot indulge THOSE ppl.
happy to hear your cannon shep stayed loyal.
Ouch! I guess I'm one of those people up to the part in bold and underlined.

For me it was about the story and what felt true to that Shepard. As I have said previously, he loves Ash. No ifs, ands or buts. But after Horizon, he was hurt, angry and ..... PISSED! The one person that he really needed and he felt betrayed.
Now, as the gamer I absolutely understood Ash's response & his ... but I don't play Ash, I play Shepard. So I had to let him go with his perspective only... and his anger. His lack of faith in her and his finding solace somewhere else was wrong but human. My Shepard isn't perfect. After he strayed, he realized that he had made a mistake and has been angry at himself since. Before her "new look", I knew that Shepard wanted her back, hell he never stopped loving her no matter how hard he tried.
I had contemplated doing a re-run and not letting him wander months ago, but that would feel false to this story. And to be honest, it is because of his mistep that while he is not my canon Shepard (that's my femshep) he is the story that I am looking forward to the most. When I saw Ash pulling him up on the Normandy, I could almost feel his shame, joy and anger mixed together as she reached out for him. I can only image what he thought as her beautiful dark eyes looked into his in that quick moment. If he had stayed faithful in ME2 I don't think that I would have been as emotionally connected to them in that moment.
Not everyone who strayed did so because they thought another character was "hotter", but because they were trying to let the story in that Shepard's eyes unfold. Sorry for the rambling, but I had to voice my Shepard's case. He already has Ash & Miranda to contend with, I don't want the fans of either on him.

He is, after all, a good guy that has just made a few dumb mistakes.
