I know why Bioware did what they did as far as the meeting on Horizon and what dialog was played out (they did the same thing with any relationship with Liara, up until LotSB came out), but it didn't endear me to Ash more then what was established in ME1. If anything, it put a strain on the relationship. So yeah, I was tempted by the ME2 LI and their wily ways....oh yes. I really felt sorry for Miranda and her loyalty quest was a decent one. It almost pushed me over that cheatin' edge. I didn't though. At least not with my main Shepard...I love that guy.
So I still hold out some hope that they will have a nice story written for those of us that remained loyal to the chief. I've heard patience is a virtue.

you can do whatever you want to in your ME playthrough,as for me ash no contest.a well written shiala romance would prob be the only other romance option i can see for my shepard and i mean ME1 ash caliber romance sub-plot.
There was something about Shiala ... I am wondering if the medical problems on Feros will come into play in ME3. I loved taking Ash on that mission with all the little comments that she made throughout. She was with my Shepard when he killed Shiala.
I thought that she (Shiala) would fight back and when she died on her knees, submissively. It is the only time that I have re-played a scene to change it. No dead Shiala in any of my games. At least the rachni queen got angry and tried to escape her doom.

That would be pretty damn cool....although I must admit, I might like it a tad better if it went from white to a nice matte black.

I'm hoping it will something along the lines of a combination of what Tela Visar & Kaidan (ME3 style) wear.
I like seeing the Spectre symbol on the armor.
(I just wish there had been an option to have it on one of Shep's shoulder pieces, for those of us who chose reinstatement)
The only question left, is what color combo would fit her best. (don't want it to just simply be a female version of Kaidan's)

it would be well worth the expense if along with the phenoix armor they also changed her hair style when wearing it back to her orginal bun.Raanz wrote...

You know, I did stay loyal to Ash with my main Shepard in ME2, but I have to admit it was because of what MIGHT be (based on Dev talk and such) and less to do with Shepard's interaction with Ash in ME2.

I absolutely agree with you that Shepards that remained faithful to the VS should be given a "bonus". As for those Shepards that weren't faithful to the relationship, here is what I posted (in part) in the Miranda thread:
"What I am hoping for is a scene that no matter who Shepard picks, he & the player feel like a putz. If either woman looks hurt, there are tears (not outright bawling but tears of pain) and heartbreak ... never mind Shepard, I'll feel like a heel. And that is what we (Shepard & I) should feel like.
Will there be goonba's who will giggle like 12-year-olds and enjoy it (ego boost)? Probably, but I don't think about those players. I know that there are some of us who are really engaged in the stories that we are crafting, love the characters and want that emotional POW! To me this triangle is worse than Virmire because Shepard can't blame this on Saren or the reapers. This is something that he himself created. Even though he is a good guy, he should not be able to just pick one, shake the others hand and whistle off in the sunset. Each choice should carry a negative consequence ... any adult would understand that.
I just hope that he shows some frackin' emotion .. some remorse & regret. No matter which woman gets the "dear Jane" speech ... if he delivers it in monotone and then says "I have to go" ... I'll kill the sum****!"

I agree, besides I happen to think the Horizon scene was written intentionally to tempt some players to cheat.
Funny thing, for me anyways, I'm one of those who played ME2 first (was on a gaming hiatus during ME1's release), so I was completely unaware of what I was missing out on, with Ash's character. (Kaidan was the 'default' VS on Horizon). But, after playing ME1, I completely loved Ashley's character, so I had to make a second 'canon' Shep with her as the LI. I kept the original Shep, with Miranda as the LI, because of sentimental value. (my entry to the epic Mass Effect universe) Which, by the way, explains my avatar.
But, if I was forced to choose only one import, to use in ME3, I'd say Ashley has the slight upper-hand - character-wise.
Besides, I'm a sucker for brown-eyed girls anyway.
And, of course, this was all before her new look came out, so that never had any bearing on it.

Is anybody alive in here?
Well, it's summer. I guess everybody is taking strolls on the beach, blasting bad guys with their boomstix.

Perhaps a question livens things up a bit? (That makes total sense...)
If we would get an Ash focused side mission what would you want it to be about?

I've been thinking about that one lately, and honestly can't come up with a good one. Most of my ideas seem to be about saving Ash's sisters from a planet attacked by Reapers, but that sounds cliche.

Something like that has been going through my mind aswell, perhaps it should be about something she has kept secret from you or something with James from that e-mail? Hmm, nothing brilliant has come to mind yet

I am also very interested in meeting her sisters, but I agree, a simple rescue mission would be a bit boring.

I myself played me2 first cuz I hadn't heard of mass effect until I saw the scy vs fi special. My first interaction was with her chewing me out for working with cerberus wih my first incarnation of AD Shep.(poor bastard) I ended up with miranda then a friend let me borow ME1 and Ash was there. I knew full well that she was gonna chew me out but I could't resist her at all. When I saw how Me1 changed ME2 I made more PT's with various loyal and disloyal hbappenings since I'm torn between her and miranda. They have their pwn pt's so I'm looking at another game of finding everything before it goes up on youtube. Can't wait to see everything Ash has to offer in ME3.
I did the same, played ME2 first. I know that Bioware likes to say that you do not need to play the previous game(s) to enjoy the next, but I really find that to be somewhat untrue. I didn't feel the same when Shepard died, Ash appeared on Horizon for starters. After I played ME1 and re-played ME2, my Shepard dying was
Seeing Ash at E3 was the highlight for me ... my Shepard's mouth dropped open and he just stared like a lost puppy. "That woman looks like she may have moved on dude ... you are screwed big time."
Okay, so I kicked him while he was down, I'm sorry. It was wrong of me.
Edit: Changed ME2 to ME1

They introduced that twist to Shanxi and her grandfather's story in the comics and inspite of feeling a bit uneasy about that turn of events, I would like Ash to find more out about it, but I am currently unsure how exactly that might make for an interesting personal side mission. An Ash mission clearly needs to involve a lot of shooting and not just investigating.
I am also very interested in meeting her sisters, but I agree, a simple rescue mission would be a bit boring.
i like the idea of ash learining more about her grandfather and the orgins of cerberus.it would be cool to have ash along when you meet TIM again and have them exchange some dialogue on the matter.
it would also provide a nice bit of emotion and a kool story arch considering ash and cerberus's role in the ME universe.
i think the fact that TIM knew and served under General Williams very interesting.
