Ash and Pierce/Rox already have a sister-rivalry thing going. The scenarios in my head are pretty funny, but I can't get into them until I get to that point in Duet Effect.

Kaidan: so then we both got threads in the ME3 section and mine was like 'Ah I can't wait to get Kaidan back and yours was like "ahh I can't wait to get Ashley" back so we get to be Spectre's now and resume our romance paths.
Ashley: Wow, you're such a dreamer LT.

Also, In ME1, Ash states that she's seen friends/other marines die before. Do you think she has seen combat before Eden Prime, or was it in a training accident?

^ It's more like:
Kaidan: You have to believe me, Ash! I saw the concept art for the new game: They are that big now!
Ash: You should get your eyes checked, LT.

@ares: It looks like Ash is dressed in a costume, that really doesn't fit her, but that goes for a lots of people. I think, what makes it look odd to me is the red thick hair, but overall you did a rather nice job. So if you were going for Ashley in a batgirl costume, rather than Ashley as batgirl, I think you nailed it, I think for the latter you simply chose the wrong picture to work with.

Ok I just started ME2 with Ron last night. Didn't get get Mordin yet.

For Horizon.... lemme guess.... Shep's just as bad with Ash right? Suffering from the derp syndrome and all?

There are a few different words in Ashley's case, but if you know the scene with Kaidan, you already know, what will happen with Ashley.

@brain: though, personally, the weapons check jokes are getting a little old for me (heard and made them often enough), It's refreshing to see them with your femShep, so for that alone  I can only approve of your picture.

Yeah, the biggest problem I had with it, was the lack of decent pics.
(that and I couldn't get the hair to change color w/o affecting the rest of the pic)

Sure. She said she had a lot of "****ty jobs" before and - although I never was in an army - I know it's another description for either a boring job or one you have to go through hell. Since Ashley is a die-hard soldier that can stands on her own she's battle proven - she saw a lot of action.

We also know most colonies near Terminus are under frequently attacks by pirates. I guess Ash had "colony jobs" here. Maybe half of her guardedness towards Aliens comes from that time (the other half is family history) - pirates are usually mixed groups and Batarians seems to be a majority here.

So yep - Ash is experienced and matures even more under Shepard's command. Since we know she's becoming a Spectre in ME3 it's obvious she's also a great leader. Without that knowledge I'd say, Ashley could become Shepard's second in command and maybe commander of her own ship & crew one day.

Shepard: *comes across her in the pool.* Isn't it a bit cool for a swim Ash?
Ashley: Maybe, just a little.
Shepard: Uh... ok. Then why are you in the pool.
Ashley: Because I felt like a swim.
Shepard: *squats on the side of the pool, resting his cheek on his fist and elbow on his knee.* You mean 'skinny dipping', don't you?
Ashley: Care to join me?
Shepard: I've very tempted.
Ashley: But - you're gonna be a boring old busy-body aren't you? *sighs and gets out of the pool, Shepard wraps a bathrobe around her.*
Shepard: Much as I'm tempted to tell the bosses to 'f*** off', I have to work to get back into their 'good graces' again. Kind of bullsh!t if you ask me, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
Ashley: Damn... there goes that plan.
Shepard: Seduce me into skinning-dipping with you? It woulda worked, just not on a cool day like this one...
Ashley: Stupid Weather.
Shepard: Stupid work.
Ashley: You can't say 'I saved the Galaxy, leave me alone' can you?
Shepard: Yea. It doesn't work as well as it should.
Ashley: Tsk.
Shepard: Maybe we'll have some fun later...
Ashley: Just what kinda fun skip'?
Shepard: I'll let you decide. *passionate kiss*.

Haha *g*
Yeah, I guess Ash & Shepard have a quite ... "steamy" ... relationship. Not too "active" since lack of time, but a lot of romance + passion. Both seem to be cool towards others but still waters run deep.

*some weeks after Ilos*
Joker: Liara, do you know what's going on?
Liara: What exactly do you mean? Besides that we're done with Sovereign ...
Joker: I mean I think there is something.
Liara: Hmm ... give me an idea.
Joker: The commander and Williams seems to have something, Liara.
Liara: *frowns* Oh yes, they have "something". I even could hear it yesterday ... and the entire last week as well.
Joker: Uhh ... nevermind ...
Liara: And you didn't know?
Joker: No. I'm not exactly a people person. So ... no.
Liara: Yeah, obviously ...

Here's one. If you had to give Ash a superpower, or some sort of kinetic ability. What would it be?

For me, Personally, it's a toss-up between cryokinesis(ice manipulation), Pryokinesis(fire manipulation) or instantanous teleportation. :D

I'd pick "water manipulation" in any form, also includes ice and steam.

Why? I think Ashley has some traits common with a character from a animated series - Avatar (not the movie) - and more precisely, it's Katara. Both are passionate characters and fight hard for what they want. And both are strong women with own opinions - they're not following around their leader without questioning their goals.

That's another reason why I love Ashley. I once was a fan of that animated series and of course, Katara was my fav character.

Lol. I can imagine Ash Blood-bending, roflmao!!

Ashley: Shepard. Whatcha doin'?
Shepard: Working unfortunately.
Ashley: I'm bored.
Shepard: So am I, but I'm nearly done.
Ashley: You said that last week.
Shepard: Its a sh!tstorm at the moment.
Ashley: You know its the full moon tonight.
Shepard: Yeah. So? *goes to type more but finds that his hand pressed the off button instead. He raises an eyebrow at the action.* Was that you?
Ashley: *smiles in a plotting manner.*
Shepard: Ash. That is not fair.
Ashley: I'm your woman, and I want your attention. And I'm gonna use whatever I have to to get it.
Shepard: *looks at her, she's wearing a rather... attractive outfit. Looks back at console.* Ah - F*** 'em. *pounces Ash.*

Scary thing is, Shepard actually can be manipulated like that in the game. Look at the Overlord DLC. The VI/David took over Shepard through his omni-tool, armor and cybernetics as a means to free himself, or bring to light the torture he had to endure.

Yeah ... bloodbending Ashley is creepy *g* (and sexy). I just loved that show. Good ol' days. I heard they're making a new one with next Avatar. But besides that, I don't know anything about it.
Wha'ever - nice to see another fan of that show ^^

Ashley: Skip, everything okay?
Shepard: Yeah, I'm fine.
Ashley: You look awful ... bad night?
Shepard: Nope. Long night. Had to write a letter to Crewman Winters wife.
Ashley: Winters? Yeah, I heard of him - he got killed yesterday, right?
Shepard: Yes. His console exploded and took him. Chakwas said it was bad luck - just 2 inches below that wound and he would still live.
Ashley: Oh ... I know, writing that stuff always gets me. Had to do that for the entire 212 - it wasn't easy.
Shepard: Not just that. I know the Winters family. And I feel as if I had betrayed them ... he didn't make it, and it's my fault.
Ashley: No it isn't. You couldn't do anything ...
Shepard: Robert was under my command. So I'm respons ...
Ashley: Geez - stop it. You're a good commander, the best. It was bad luck, as you said, and mourning over his death won't bring Winters back. Skip, I know you hate losing people under your command. I know you needed almost two weeks before you accepted Kaidan's death ...
Shepard: That's a different story-
Ashley: No, it's the same. Skip, I know you'll need time, but that's something we don't have right now. Reapers are everywhere and the longer we need to take them down the more people will die. Just keep that in your mind, John.
Shepard: Ashley ...
Ashley: Yes?
Shepard: Did you ever ask yourself if you can finish the job?
Ashley: Always. The answer is: yes. We must not fail here.
Shepard: And did you ever came to the point where you think: everything is lost?
Ashley: No. Not yet.
Shepard: I do. Whenever someone is dying, winning this war becomes more and more costly.
Ashley: What do you wanna tell, Skipper?
Shepard: I once told Harbinger we would fight till the bitter end, even if it costs half the Galaxy. But ... I was wrong. We can't win this with so much losses. And if we win, we won't win for us.

Wow. Morbid... Lost hope much, Shepard?

Ash. Do us all a solid and kick him straight in the cyborg ass. Shepard is a solider, while yes, I like torturing him mentally and emotionally to please my own sadistic whims, He's the best N7 of his generation (or class, whatever). He wouldn't been able to reach that point if he had been emotionally frail.

The thing is - even the most hard-boiled soldier will find his/her master. And then s/he breaks. It depends on willpower if s/he is recovering that breakdown, but at that moment s/he is beaten.

I think Shepard will come to that point in ME3. I hope s/he does and I hope his/her current LI will help him/her to get up and fight. That's all I wanna see. A broken Shepard that needs a good friend or the LI to become Shepard again. Not more, not less.

And yeah, my hopeless Shepard needs Ashley to get up. No need to boot his ass and no need to yell at him - he just needs a tiny spot of hope. In his case it's a future with Ashley somewhere in a peaceful galaxy full of life.

This thread needs more Ashley ...

Any idea why Ashley's / Kaidan's files are so top secret not even the Shadowbroker can get his (her - Liara) hands on them? It doesn't seem to be difficult for the SB to insert agents in any organization so why is it impossible to get those files? It's not that mankind is that experienced in counter espionage ...

So why are Ashley's files top secret?

I would assume its because Ash was in a classified mission, or her own new training for the Spectres - maybe an experimental training program that surpasses the N7's difficulty. Maybe something like a unknown/invented tier '8' training?

I don't know. I'm wondering that myself.

@CptData

I've wondered the same thing too.
I wouldn't be surprised if it had anything to do with them becoming a Spectre.
Such as - whatever mission(s) qualified them for their candidacy (post Shepard's death).

Yep. I can't make up a fanfic of this issue either. Difficult stuff. By the way: "doppelganger" is scrapped. It was nearly done but when reading it again it didn't make much sense ...
I simply lack time to fix all those issues.

However - three non-canon Ashley-quotes *g*

#1
This is Spectre Williams. Taking command over Arcturus Armada. We need to take down an entire Reaper fleet and I know this is an impossible task. But we have to go in, we have to do the job. Shepard is with us. Williams out.
Ashley Williams just minutes before the battle to retake Earth.
She fails big speeches ^^

#2
I'm not a diplomat, Udina. I accepted all the Spectre stuff to continue Shepard's work. I don't care about the Council. All I know is the Reapers are a real threat and I'll make sure they'll have to pay for every single dead man or alien. I won't waste time when talking to the Council - it's time of action, not of words. Not anymore. Somehow I can understand Shepard now and why he's working for Cerberus ...
Ashley Williams to Councillor Udina why she's won't talk to the Council.

#3
That's all? You got shot twice in your chest and you're still here pulling bad jokes? Skip, I don't know if I'm upset or glad to have you back. Just stop doing that, will you? I don't wanna lose you again and you know that. Next time, take your head down and let me do the job.
Ashley Williams to a badly wounded Shepard on sickbay.

Oh bugger. I'm saddened to hear that. Guess I'll just have to make something up instead.
I like the comment 'Shepard is with us'. Ash referred to him as something like a living god among men. Its a stark comment that shows her faith. He has truly become a symbol of humanity, his reputation has accordingly transcended to god-like proportions. He's a icon, more than a man. It just effing sucks that the council wanted to bury his warnings under a veil of skeptism and delusions of insanity.

Don't mess with Ash. She'll drill ya between the eyes at 100 yards.
