Lt. Commander Ashley Williams thread: "Don't 'Ash' me!" We're Back Baby!

John Mal:
Has a mother, father and step-father. Step-father was abusive and later he and mother divorced. Father and mother marry. Has a kid brother - doesn't talk to him much. Has an adopted sister, Roxanna, a survivor of a raid on a Batarian slave ship. Was a lonely, smart and aggressive kid. Well-behaved at school, though started fights and went to bar-brawls for kicks. Meets his future fiancee at one of these fights - and she asks him out after she beats the sh!t out of him.... go figure.
Yada, yada, enlists into military, him and Rox get accepted into the N7 program where Shepard meets his major professional rival and polar opposite, Nathaniel Jinx (Ruthless Earthborn). He gets engaged to fiancee and agrees to travel with her to Elysium to meet her folks. Blitz happens and Fiancee+family dies. Shepard goes AWOL for a year on a drug-fueled depression before someone find him and get him the help he needs - I'm deciding that this person is Anderson. Hence the start of a Mentor-Protege relationship.
Shepard gets assigned to Normandy (clean for near eight years at this point), Goes to Eden prime and Saves Ash. Immediately is attracted to her aggressive demeanour and cultured traits (things he loves in a woman) but is hesitant to act on them, not wanting to repeat what happened on Elysium. Eventually he just tells the bad thoughts to STFU and pursues Ashley.
And that's my Shepard's story is a boring old nutshell...

Now that I had that Horizon scene yesterday I remember Ashley got a new VA in german version. She doesn't sound like ME!Ash and that's sad because I loved Ashley's VA in ME. She did a great job.

@Data; I hate it when VA's get replaced, especially in a trilogy like Mass effect, that's gonna be really strange if you replay through all 3 games, but could it be that the VA wasn't available yet?

Nah. It's not just her. If I'm correct almost every VA got replaced, including Shepard (both), Anderson, Udina, Wrex, Ashley, Kaidan (I think - don't have a savegame with him alive in ME2), Hackett. Joker got his old VA, same for Garrus and Tali.
It sucks, but yeah, that's Germany. They do it quite often - either because the VA want too much money or they're busy with other projects or the publisher for Germany doesn't care.

Garrus and Ashley - two friends?

However, Ashley will be less reserved towards aliens I guess. At least she should be, she's a Spectre and will have to work with aliens quite often ...
By the way ... I wonder what BW devs see as their "canon". Is Ashley the canon!VS or is it Kaidan? And if Ashley is canon!VS, is she also canon!LI for Shepard? That's something I wonder, especially since I was in that Liara-canon!LI thread.

As for Ashley's stance on Aliens, well that tweet that she's matured (Which was in reply to someone asking about her stance on aliens in ME3) is all we've got, as you probably know. I think it makes sense though that she's less reserved about aliens, she has been dealing with them for a long enough time to get rid of some of the prejudice and she must have seen some aliens that went didn't fit in her views. Experience should have changed her outview, I think.

sadly she might be as "Maleshep" is the "canon" choice for the movie so I'm guessing in the default games Ashley is saved by maleshpe on Virmire becuase the opposite sex VS gets saved on default PT's.
Dunno. I don't think Ashley is "canon!LI" - it would make Shepley less attractive for me. The best solution for this problem is that Shepard has NO canon!LI but the player can pick one to make him or her happy.
We don't know if Ash makes an appearance in the movie. But just in case she does, I'd like to see her having feelings for Shepard. But yeah, if the movie is just part one of a trilogy, I don't wanna see them getting a couple before the finale. Just for the drama of course - and for thousands of fans writing their Shepley-story on ff.net
By the way, am I the only one who thinks that "gazing at photo" scene just before the SM comes with so much more emotions than the sexy scenes in ME2? They're nice to watch and some of them are touching, but nothing comes close to that short scene when Shepard is gazing at the picture of his ME!LI - it seems as if everything he does he's doing for that one character.
I love the few emotional moments of Shepard.

Edit: Yes, the photo-scene for me is showing how a simple scene can be more effective than a complex scene in which the situation and poses need to make it all more sexual and intense, but instead make it more awkward.

Hey. I don't know where you are now. I don't know if you're still with me, but I hope so. There's so much I want to tell you - I still have feelings for you, you know that? I still wish I could make up for those two years, but I can't. The next mission will lead us through the Omega Four Relay. We don't know what's behind it. Maybe we'll run into a large fleet of Collector cruisers or worse, into a Reaper fleet. Maybe we won't come back. Maybe I don't come back.
Ash ... since I came back, I tried to contact you again. There is so much I'd like to tell you. About feelings and that I care for you. I'm doing this for you, Ash. I'm going through hell for you.
And I am going to come back. For you.

Another thing I wonder, since Ashley is a soldier with no other proficiencies like Biotics or Tech, wonder how hard she works out. Jacob has biotics, but his SB dossier includes his workout regimin and it's brutal (which explains why he has dem abs that all the girls love) I know her model in ME1 doesn't show up, but Ashley mus workout and have at least a 6 pack (maybe an 8 now that she's a spectre and probably works out harder)
Dunno. I don't like sixpacks at all (not even on male bodies ... yes I'm jealous damnit! But beer is tasty and kills sixpacks. Double phun.
In my headcanon Ashley hates anabolic drugs and ripped women. She loves her feminine body that's covered by soft skin - her body is more athletic than ripped, if you know what I mean. Ash is a "grunt", but not of the usual kind - BW made her to a "damage dealer soldier" in ME3, so she's more in dishing out precise and hard strikes. Ash hates blunt violence, she's more a surgeon on the battlefield. At least in my headcanon
However - her daily exercise is at least 2 hours when not on a mission and she usually does 50 push ups to "get warm". Besides that her main goal is to get more stamina that also can be compressed to short, violent outbursts of sheer power if needed.
Something like that. At least in that WELL KNOWN scene we can see her very feminine body. She even got a very nice handful

Well in my headcannon she has to work out. I think soldier classes always have to worry about running out of ammo or their weapons being overheated and becoming useless. I hated on Bring down teh Sky when they'd use overload and ashley jsut had to stand there.
Never said she doesn't do exercises and work out on a daily routine. She's just not "ripped" like those "muscle women". And that sexy scene shows a -very- feminine body, so Ashley is more or less agile, acrobatic but not the basic grunt.
I mean, just compare Vega and Ashley. Both are soldiers. Both are grunts. But while Vega is the tough dude you expect as a Ranger or Marine, Ashley is the typical sniper, a surgeon on the battlefield. And that's how I imagine Ashley. She's the opposite of the ordinary grunt. She's better. She's best. And she looks awesome
Good night

Hmmm... It would be more like this:
Ash...*Hangs head* if you were here I wouldn't need grunt. Oh, yeah and I miss the comments about boomsticks and kicking ass. We really did kick some good ass, back in the day. Miranda sucks at it. And don't get me started on Jacob.
Ah...Okay that was weak.

Personally, I dislike ripped women too. I see Ash as being somewhat ripped. I mean with all that kicking ass she's got to be! Just because the models in ME1 are all the same....She could be different in ME3 though, I don't know. But I just think with all that dedicated "working" she's bound to be ripped a bit, but still have that "shape" she's got serious curve in that concept art. But it's just a concept art.... And in the game her thighs look like bricks lol
I don't really care, so long as I get my faithful reward Bioware! It's been two years...Dam!

But they just might make her kiss a turian to appease people ... who knows.
Ashley is a P90X user in my head along with a crazy runner on the treadmill. Piers can run faster than her but she can run longer.

*at the gym with a male shep*
Shep: *posing looking at his body* Hey Ash, check me out.
Ash: Nice bod, but mine's better.
Shep: ha, prove it
Ash: *lifts shirt slightly and flexes her six pack*
Shep: O_O
Wrex: Impressive Williams. You better step it up Shepard, she might just whip ya.
