I think that Ashley, like my femshep, would have muscles and definition ... but not the Hollywood kind.

The muscles they have would be appropiate for what they do and not for appearances. Strong core, solid arms and muscular legs ... like Rachel Mclish. She was one of the earlier body builders (1980's) before they started looking more like Shwarzenegger.

I use to see her in the gym back in the early 80's and wow ... she was the perfect mix of femininity and strength.

exactly, I still think she could ake any dude in the alliance or even the turian Military and just own them at hand to hand. Maybe she and Garrus spar and she gets him in a sleeper and he has to tap in front of everyone on the ship. :D

Shepard: Is it me or...
Ashley: You always gonna trail off like that and leave me in suspense?
Shepard: It's just that I noticed you don't seem to be as... 'buff' as the other female marines I've served with.
Ashley: And just want in hell does that mean?
Shepard: .. That sounded a hell of a lot better in my head. But take the Staff Lieutenant. She's very bulky, even for a woman and you're - well, delicate.
Ashley: Are you trying to imply tthat I'm not as fit as she is?
Shepard: No. No I'm just commenting on the difference of your respective frames.
Ashley: And just why are you looking at another woman's 'frame'?
Shepard: ... um. I - *punch lands barely a centimetre from his face impacting the wall behind him with a heavy thud.* I'm digging a grave no matter what I say huh?
Ashley: Yep. Get talking.
Shepard: *thinking: Oh Sh!t...*

My ten-cents

Ashley = Green or violet
Shepard = Green, Violet, black or White - probably White. (I reckon he's capable of becoming any one of them depending how you play)
Kaidan = Green or Indigo
Garrus = Red
Tali = Indigo
Wrex = Red or Orange.

Yeah, maybe like her, but that's already "utmost extreme" for "my" Ashley. You can see her defined muscles. In my eyes Ashley needs - as any good soldier - at least some "fat" in the skin - stamina issues. Without something to burn while in the middle of action you simply would lose consciounsess - I need to know: one of my buddies is just muscles without any fat. As long as he has access to something to eat, he can work like a horse, but once he's running out of energy he first gets tired and then ... right. He's away. Poof. Sleeping. Unless you put some chocolate in his mouth, that refills his batteries ...

You know the girl from Avatar - that 'copter lady with Ashley's face? That's how I imagine Ashley. She has muscles and is a tough girl, a marine, but she's not ripped in a "disgusting" way. Posted Image

Oh and by the way - YES for a gym! I want to watch excercising Ashley! Posted Image

Slow thread is slow ...
For Aurora (where are you *g*)

So we did it. That's the last of them - and this invasion is over. We made a difference, Skipper, we defeated what the Reapers called our destiny. I don't know if we were here without you.
A part of me loves the man who you are, another part is frightened. You are a living legend, maybe even more than that. Did you ever thought of it? Have no idea if I can live with all that fame, if I can live with you. John, please don't change ... stay the way you are ...

Ashley Williams - she does not know if John Shepard is still the same man or will be the man she loves.

A gym is definitely somewhere at the top of the list of things I want to have on the Normandy, just under wanting squadmates to freely walk around the ship. (Which is not gonna happen anyway.)

Also DarthParametric cleaned up the concept pics a bit, so I thought I'd just post Ashley's here (You can find Kaidan &Vega along with this one in the twitter thread.) *Click to enlarge*

 Sorry, I've been playing Dragon Age Origins all day. I haven't been on the forums very much at all today.
Anyway, here's on following Cpt's cue.
Ash watched him move across the room and slump down on the leather lounge chair, kicking his feet up and leaning his head back with a soft sigh. The thought had been nibbling at her mind for a while now. Was this man truly the same person that she knew? When she came back onto  the Normandy, the SR2, he had been... different was the only way she could describe it. Initially, she had just labelled it a stress and left it at that. But that was two years ago now.
It seemed like his face was now permanently etched into a skeptical scowl. The leash he kept on his anger and aggression had been loosened. Ash didn't know exactly when the realisation dawned on her, or how long it took. But there was something... different about this man who shared her bed. He walks like Shepard, talks like Shepard, laughs and fights like Shepard, but a part of her mind cannot get over the fact that maybe this man is not the same one who she fell in love with. A streak of cruelty and anger broke through the stoic exterior and it showed more and more often.
The thought that this man wasn't her Shepard frightened her, and what frightened her more was that she didn't care... She had lost her love when the first Normandy was destroyed and god gave her love back, though in a different way that she had expected. At first she believed that he had abandoned her to a terrorist organisation, to the enemy. But that had not been the case. When he came back to her out of love and loyalty, Ash knew that deep down he had truly remained the same.
The face we were is but a mask to hide our true selves. Someone had said that. John had died, going down the ship like a dutiful Captain. But his heart and soul had never abandoned her. She knew that he entrusted them to her. Then he had been reborn as Malcolm, the man she served with now. A man so similar, yet so different. Occasionally the thought dawned on her to leave. Ash pushed it aside.
If she left, there was no telling what Mal would be capable of. She was now his anchor, his moral compass, and his soul. Without her, he wouldn't be complete. Without her, he wouldn't be sane.

A lot longer than I would have liked, but I think it makes my point...

Brain: I still wish I had the computers and software those dudes of Profiler or CIS have ... I wanna read the text above all those small Ashleys *g*

Some point in ME3:

Shepard: Save Ashley - Save Colony ... gawd damnit, another Virmire decision!
Save Ashley
Shepard: Wait, how many colonists did I just sacrifice for Ashley?
EDI: Approx 300,400.00
Shepard: Rats.

EDIT: Love, Aurora, LOVE Posted Image

300, 400 colonists? God, he's getting a pretty big kill count isn't he?

I'm expecting Church or someone from the RvB team to pop up and call him a 'Team-killing **********'...

Well, its for Ash, so it's worth it. But she would probably feel like **** about it as well. Look at how she felt with Kaidan on Virmire. Times that by 300400 and wow-wee. That's a premium angst formula right there.

300,400.00 colonists. Sorry, we have the dot as thousand-separator in Germany ^^

Nah, dunno if I can put Ash over 300k lives. Ash is worth a lot, but not if she feels like as if she had cheated death by the cost of many thousands more. Means: Ash felt bad already because Kaidan died and not her, how would she feel if Shepard puts her life over thousands?

We had that discussion before ... I rather sacrifice Ashley than let her life with that feeling. Posted Image

Repost for new audience?

That's the problem ... we're going through the same stuff over and over again because lack of news. Hmmm ... maybe we should discuss the good ol' ME1!Ashleymance? When do you think Ashley started growing interest in Shepard?

This is how I invision her thought/emotional processes in the prologue mission.

When she first saw him and Kaidan on Eden Prime - There an automatic respect for their ranks and the N7 stripe on Shepard's armor. Cause I love N7s, they're literally the top badasses of the Military. Confused as to why they are here, but aren't looking the gift Marines in the mouth.

When confronted with the thieving Dock Worker - A little bitter cause she wanted payback and he ordered her not to.

When the beacon mind-raped Shepard - Concerned for the Commander and the guy who saved her life about 5 times now (the uber geth bombs and that), and immediately went to the aid of a superior officer.

On the Normandy while he was in sickbay - Concerned, guilty and waiting eagerly to see if he would wake, and not forgiving herself if someone of  'higher value' to the military died in her place.

When out of sick bay - Grateful for the Welcome onto the Normandy, somber was it was, the vote of confidence and the confiding advice he had given her. Relieved that he didn't blame her curiosity for dumping him in a 15 hour coma.

Aurora - yeah guess we're on the same boat here.
But the "click" happens for me when Shep says to her something that makes her smiling. I mean, Ashley has a beautiful smile but I doubt she'll show it some random person frequently. But Shepard makes her smiling ...

That's the scene I have in my mind - Sickbay

Too bad BW kinda messed up with those ME2 romances. They're tied to the LMs to strictly and therefore suddenly appear out of nowhere. For Ashley, Kaidan and Liara you have to go through the entire game, talk to them frequently and you can watch how your fav relationship builds up. I'm sad that BW didn't took the same route in ME2. Slow build up is better than blunt "happens out of nowhere".

Take a look at this scene and watch Shepard closely. It's the approach run to the Citadel, and if you watch, Shepard isn't watching the window, he's watching Ash for a good four seconds before joining her at the window to gaze out. And as a Spacer Shepard (mine is a spacer) I find it hard to believe it's his first time visiting the citadel (I'm guessing either mummy or daddy - probably daddy, took him along for a vacation there once or twice.), so I'm spectulating that he finds her enthuasim and excitement as either unusal, strange or entertaining. At that point I highly doubt he knows she's been confined to ground side assignments her entire career.

Yeah I know ... I guess Shepard is checking out his newest (and most beautiful) addition for his team.

Hey, lets go through the scenes and analyze them. That'll give us enough work till March '12 ... ^^

HEhaha! Just don't make it frame-by frame analysis... wait, no, lets do that. Cause the Theatre group at IGN have no idea what they are doing...

Anyway. Pick another scene. :D

edit: One rule - NO HORIZON! It has been done to DEATH! And bloody hell, I hate playing that scene. I just skip through the dialogues fast as possible there. I don't care if it messes things up. I don't want to hear Ashley's cutting accusations.

Okay, my scene I posted just a few minutes ago ...
It spans from "curious Ash on New Eden" to "sickbay scene" so - lets do the first part.

I like the fact Ashley is a naturally curious person. She doesn't seem to think a lot when going closer. It's a bit odd since she's a marine and should keep distance - it could be a dangerous device, a bomb or something similar. Still she's going closer and gets caught by the beacon.
Shepard saves her (for the second time already) because for him it looks as if she was in danger.

Getting saved twice by Shepard should have an impact on Ashley, hmm? Stay tuned for part II. Your turn, Aurora ^^
