No Miranda fan and no Ashley fan would ever think they look alike. They both have very characteristic faces after all, and I always found Ashley quite beautiful. That was never the concern. The problem we had - and still have - is that their faces look similar enough to a superficial first glance to indicate that Bioware isn't concerned about them being mistaken for each other at first glance by new players, that in turn indicating that there might be only one dark-haired, fair-skinned human female as a key character in ME3. Which would be very bad for us Miranda fans of course. This concern has not been alleviated.

BTW, is my impression correct that Ashley has a lighter skin tone than in ME1?

Possible - Ashley had spent a lot of time on planets before meeting Shepard and since then had some space duty. I head they don't have tanning saloons on those ships and stations ...

She does look pale, maybe they'll change that? Or maybe this is how she looks when she's been livng on space stations all the time, no tanning. It looks a little odd though.


Edit: If there would be a 'dinner-dialogue' like that one it'd be awesome!

Ashley: Yea, a year ago in the middle of a galactic war. Now with all of that been and gone. And the other races trying to rebuild.
Shepard: Ash I don't have much of a future as it is. As much as I am a marine, I'm also a felon. Everytime I leave the Normandy I have to drag my personal prison guard along unless its groundside work. The only reason I'm not back in the Detention Centre is because the Alliance is short handed and everyone everywhere seems to need me to save their asses. And.. because, it was destroyed.
Ashley: Gezzus. Mal. Stick to optimism. It suits you more.
Shepard: Yea, well. Dying and the war pretty much killed that part of me.
Ashley: Like I haven't noticed, without you changing your name.
Shepard: Techincally it's not changing, they're both my name.
Ashley: It's not the point. And you're steering us off subject.
Shepard: Blast, you saw through my cunning plan to avoid talking.
Ashley: Malcolm.
Shepard: Sorry. But I don't see much of a future beyond playing the role of aggressive negotiator.

By the way, is someone wondering if that scene short before that trial is a tad different if Ashley is Shepard's LI? I mean as far as I can see the player is using a freshly created Shepard, not an imported one. Also nice to see that still a lot of stuff needs to be added ...

I think that Ashley was supposed to start to smile warmly before Anderson snatches her attention away. Maybe cause she's glad Shepard's flying the right colours this time around... sort of. I would not be surprised if he left the Alliance behind at the end of the game and either started his own merc band or maybe just disappear completely.

And I was REALLY hoping you could contiune that. I've hit a stump on that as well. Unless you want another sneak peak at Halcyon

I'd be nice if it'll be a tad different, perhaps an extra line, like Shepard asking how she's doing or something would be nice. Or instead of telling Vega "I used to" something like "We have...a past". It's not all that important for me in this particular scene though.

Huh, I just remembered that in the cabin scene before reaching Ilos, Ash has a monochrome skin tone. So, if she was tanned when she was ground based, and she has no tan lines, that means she...

Ashley: John, I'm not happy that you had to sacrifice those people. But you had to - or we weren't here to discuss about it. And you know that. In my eyes, saving the galaxy and everyone living in it redeems you. And the Alliance concurs.

Shepard: Something screwed up is going on. If not, it's one hell of a coincidence. *To Vega* Get everyone in the briefing room in ten.
Ashley: If we're all feeling the same towards this, my creds say there are others who are experiencing this.
