You can talk about that in ME1. She tells Shepard she gave her a good reason to give the council a shot.DyneEnigma wrote...
Only thing I had against Ash was that she was pretty racist and close minded when it came to other races or species and helping them. I wonder if in ME3 her attitude toward aliens will have changed due to more experience.

She was not closed minded or racist against other species. She had concerns about letting Turians and Krogan roam the ship. the admiral you talk to on your second visit has the SAME concerns but he's ot racist , he's looking out for he Alliance. in fact he says "about your crew...Turians, Asari, Krogan?!"

Ashley: "Shepard."
Shepard: "So, the guest of honor finally decides to grace us with her presence."
Ashley: "Unavoidable. Listen, I'm working on a little theory. You haven't given me command of the Normandy have you?"
Shepard: "Ashley, I'm shocked. I welcome you to the joys of leadership, placing my entire crew under your command and this is how you repay me? By accusing me of what exactly? Misrepresenting my place of residence? What could I possibly gain by such a tatic? You want the captain's cabin, you can have it. Just order someone to clear my things out."
Ashley: "This isn't about your cabin, Shepard. Plausable deniablity. I know what you're doing. See, if you continue to wreck this mission chances are we won't have a resistance to take back with us to Earth, but if you put me in charge right before it begins to absolutely tank, there's almost nothing to link you to the scene of the crime and voila."
Shepard: "Plauable deniablity. Ash, that's a pretty sophisticated theory you got going on there."
Ashley: "Yeah, well I'm a pretty sophisticated kind of girl. Oh, and I almost forgot the best part. The thing that really elevates this whole Congratulations Ashley thing from a mildly amusing joke to a potentially ingenious little plot twist."
Shepard: "And that would be?"
Ashley: "Should High Command contact us and ask us who's responsible for this mess all the terrified masses are going to remember is that it was Lt. Commander Williams calling the shots."
Shepard: "So it's just absolutely impossible that my intentions were pure. That all I wanted was for you to relieve me of duty while I regroup."
Ashley: I wouldn't say that it's absolutely impossible, but I'd put the chances somewhere around three percent."
Shepard: "You know what, I have a theory about you're theory. I think the first half is right. I don't think I've given you complete control of the ship. Maybe my command is official, but unofficial."
Ashley: "And what's this, some sort of riddle?"
Shepard: "I wasn't finsished...The second half of your theory...that sounds more like a bleak critique of your own leadership skills more than anything.
Ashley: "Take that back. NOW!"
Shepard: "Sorry. Party calls. See you around, Commander."

Right, I think the Batarians may have been wiped out since in the combat parts you're fighitng Batarian husks, plus they have no contact with the rest of the galaxy. so the Batarians couldn't contact them even if they wanted to.MisterJB wrote...
There's no trial. Just an hearing before the committee of defense and the batarians are not even mentioned, we just hear about how the Sol system is under siege.

Shepard: Wait, so am I still Skipper or are you Skipper now?
Ash: That's a good question, I'd say that Commander would be fine, but then we're both Commanders so that won't work.
Vega: Wait, when did you two make nice?
Ash: Shepard and I had a one-on-one meeting.
Shepard: There was intense deliberation between Commander Williams and myself, but I'd say that we worked out a solution to our problems.
EDI: I do enjoy the sight of humans on their knees. (Vega looks up with a shocked expression) That wasn't a joke.

I know ther are going to be a few very upset people that the VS now has as muchinfluence as they do (more in Kaidan's case) but they can just deal with it!

Does anyone ever ever actually listen to any f*cking thing Ashley says? Like EVER? Just because she SAYS the word "racism" in the game does not make her a "racist." In fact every time she talks about it it's to yell at someone about BEING racist.
Also. "It's not racism, not really." She's talking about the Council and how it's not racist for THEM. She's not saying "I'M not racist. Not really."
The bear and dog analogy: The Council is the "human" and humanity is the "dog." AND OH LOOK SHE WAS RIGHT ANYWAY.
"Can't tell the aliens from the animals." BUG that was supposed to trigger ONLY around a Keeper, SOMETHING THAT LOOKS LIKE A BUG.
Wrex and Garrus - HELLO! Two particularly antagonistic species toward humans in general. Also not Alliance. Also, this was a MILD concern that was addressed in one conversation.
Nobody ever pays attention to the stuff like Ashley talking to Tali about how having her with them will hopefully change peoples' minds about thinking badly about the Quarians. Or how she is more than willing to fight alongside the Salarians. Or how she calls out Terra Firma for being a bunch of racist a-holes or how she HATES CERBERUS BECAUSE THEY'RE A TERRORIST GROUP THAT HATES ALIENS.
If you're not going to pay attention, why are you even playing this god damned game?

Well anyway I'm glad people like you occasionally rant about it, hopefully it'll enlighten some. (Even if it mostly doen't)
@DrDoctor; EDI doesn't leave much room for privacy, does she? As if Joker spying on them wasn't enough!

BABY COME BACK!
...I'm sorry, I...don't even have much more to add. I'm sure the video's already been taken down by EA. Might be able to find it elsewhere, but I told myself I wouldn't go delving into spoiler land this time. So...very very tempting...apparently what little movment and dialogue there was, the scene still dripped with emotion.
She does look paler...which is odd, since Vega looked darker than I've seen. Also odd since her unique features--lips, nose--have largely stayed the same. Her eyes look bigger; must be a better brand of mascara.
And I feel a little better about the whole outfit situation, considering no one else is wearing armor in the bits and pieces I saw. The color really pulls you to her, but she is the Spectre in the room.
Not that she didn't get my attention before!
Is there just...something I can drink to knock me out until March? Good gracious.

Well she probably worked up quite the tan being stuck ground side for all those years. Now that she's been pretty much only in space maybe she just never found the time to hit the tanning salon?
That was a joke.
Notice how neither of them have the same tone?
It's the lighting.

I agree wholeheartedly witht his post. Especially the part about the Spectre. I thinkt eh reason at E3 Vega was in armor and she wasn't was that they didn't have a look or voice for him probably so they used a placeholder for him as there are several people in the full armor and full breather helmet look when teh shuttles are trying to evac civilians.LessThanKate wrote...

I also think she looks paler due to a combination of the lighting and her lack of natural light now that she's a Commander and probably serves in space alot more than her gunnery Chief days.

Fair enough.
But when you think about, just about every character (even Liara) makes comments criticizing a race.

However, I like less dark ... ^^
Ashley: ... Weaponsystem - check. Kinetic barriers - check. The Normandy is ready, Skipper.
Shepard: Good. Joker, are you ready?
Joker: Yes Sir! Lets make'm pay!
Shepard: Fine. I hate to do this, but time for another speech ...
Ashley: No, thanks, Skip. Let me do the talk.
Shepard: If you insist?
Ashley: Indeed. Joker, open the intercom channel.
Joker: We've EDI for that, Ashley ...
EDI: Channel open.
Ashley: This is Commander Williams. We barely escaped the assault on Earth and our mission is not an easy one. Our job is to gather as much allies as possible. Turians, Krogans, Asari, Salarians ... they all need to fight the same war or their homeworlds will see Earth's fate as well. All I can tell you is this: we must not fail. Or everything is lost. Together we stand, or we will fail. Williams out.
Shepard: Nice speech.
Joker: Yeah, that'll do the trick. EDI, set a course to the Charon Relay.
Ashley: Nah. My speech was even more awful than any of yours, Skip.
Shepard: Doesn't matter. They know what's at stake. Ashley, I need you in five.
Ashley: Think we can stay here, Skip. What's up?
Shepard: Are you okay that I'm back?
Ashley: Yes, why do you ask?
Shepard: Ash, this is your ship. Anderson gave me my dog tags back and said I'm reinstated as Alliance officer, but it's still your ship. The Normandy is yours, Ash.
Ashley: John, listen. Anderson told me a lot of stuff about you and your doings for Cerberus. He told me that you'll have to face that trial, but he also said that the Alliance can't waste your skills - the Normandy was never my ship, it was yours. Always. And I'm fine with that. Just don't disappoint us.
Shepard: Thanks, Ashley. I won't disappoint anyone anymore. I did that once and thousands had to die. I won't allow me failing again.

It'll be here before you know it.
I'll probably give TW1 and 2 another go in there as well. And of course a ME1 and 2 play through just before ME3 comes out.
