She has to die because the stupid outfit those idiots at Bioware put her in pulls me right out of the experience.

It's a tragic thing.

Besides, how long has it been since we've seen the alliance? Nearly 3 years in game. They're casual dress has probably changed hence why they all look different to ME1 casual dress.

Or if you wanna get all real life about it Bioware took a look at their 2006/7 Alliance look and went  "oh that needs something"  and then THEY DID IT.

Again.  Ash is a SpecTRe.  She can wear/do/say pretty much whatever the hell she wants (yes I realize this is a gross over estimation of SpecTRe powers).

"She has to die because the stupid outfit those idiots at Bioware put her in pulls me right out of the experience.

.....Are you even reading what you write?.....I mean....It can't be  "She has to....not come with me on missions..."?  It has to be "she has to die"?

Okay then.  Fair enough.  You don't like the outfit, and it's your playthrough.  Have fun with Alenko and you can find out what Ashley is like in ME3 via YouTube.

That's a pathetic reason driven simply by your personal opinion and dislike for a geniunely good character which you have admited to disliking. I think Garrus has a stupid outfit? Does that mean he has to die? I think that Jacob's jumpsuit is silly, does that mean he has to die? I think Miranda is too over-sexed and her outfit should be more than a catsuit, and I have an intense dislike of her character as well. Does that mean she has to die as well?

Using your twisted logic, most of the people in every game I play should die. That hardly makes sense to me.

Um, no. She is her own woman who has her own tastes, thoughts, and personality. MAcwalters tweeted that the characters hav effinally come to life fully in ME3 and it's liek they're REAL people. If you kill Ashley for her SPECTRE outfit an outfit she had to earn despite her own military holding her back because of her grandfather going rogue and being stuck on crap assignments after watching her father break his back to get ahead in the alliance, and after she helps save the galaxy, then why the hell are you playing the game? you're going to kill of the possibly the only squadmate that's on Sheaprd's level so you must not need her help to WIN.

honestly, looking at her outfit now,it needs 2 very simple things to make it loog good instead of silly. just 2.

1. a turtleneck, to wear under the jacket, ala the turlenecks for other alliance uniforms.
2. color that patch of white - blue.

and suddenly it looks like modified version of alliance blues. such simple changes.

well - the good thing is soon enough, someone will figure out a text mod or something to do just that, if bioware doesn't

as far as alliance casual dress - we can kinda see the way people are dressing in that very spoiler video.  and other then higher detailing neither BDU's nor dress blues seems to have changed much.

it's not Allianc ethough, it's Spectre. There's no Alliance logo, only the Spectre. She's humanity's Spectre so she dresses like it.

I'msorry, but being a spectre somehow suddenly destroyes any taste you may have?

plus the uniform looks like a modified alliance blues.  it was not as apparent in other screenshots, but when you look at her next to the alliance guide, standing side by side- there are a lot and i mean a LOT of similarities.  including the color.  plus Ashley is STIL part of the alliance, she has alliance rank and she' waiting for alliance orders.  it looks to me that the uniform she wears was created especialy for the purpose of displaying that she's both alliance and a spectre.

and those white patches on her thighs don't make sence.  they look terrible.

I care little what my characters were, so long as everything is covered up to an acceptable standard, because I like their personalities. It's pathetic, your logic.

There is a phrase - Don't judge a book by it's cover.

I hate the outfit as much as anyone, but teven I don't think that's a  reason to kill her off.  I'll just look for a textmod and keep an eye on the DLCs.

Ash is too cool for terrible fashion sense to doom her.

No, you've got the completely wrong idea. It is my respect and affection for Ashley as a character that has prompted this response from me. You need to look inward.

Ashley is tough, she is a warrior. If I could describe her with one word it would be... strong. Simple, but it says everything we need to know about her.

When I think strong I don't think of a pretty girl in a cute jacket and sexy thigh-high boots with high heels. In Ashelys case I think of an assault rife, dirt, gunfire, the sound of a shotgun being pumped, and heavy armor. Ashley is a warrior, not scene girl.

Bioware has betrayed her character for the sake of sex appeal. They banking on shallow people, like you, to slobber over her good looks. It's cheap and it insults my intelligence.

I actually rather like her outfit. Would even wear it too if I worked out and toned up a bit... maybe just change the colour to a darker blue and add a few skull-and-crossbone motifs too it :P

Obviously in the 3 years we've been without her, her tastes have changed. Promotions and Spectre status can do that.

Tela Vasir's armor was blue and it was spectre armor, obviously the Alliance and Citadel share color schemes, like when the washington Nationals and Philadelphia philies play and BOTH their color pallets are red white and blue.

the differenc ebetween her and the allianc eguide is that one of them works for the Citadel the other doesn't. the one that does has a Spectre logo on her jacket. the one that doesn't wears and Alliance uniform. simple as that.

The uniform (and hair, actually) looks like someone wanted to import Aki Ross into Mass Effect.  Which, considering how much Mass Effect borrows from TSW visually, I wouldn't be surprised if were true.

Um, if you LIKED Ashley you wouldn't kill her outside of Virmire for a Kaidan playthrough, the fact that you think she needs to die for a CASUAL OUTFIT thet reveals none of her sex organs is not something someone would say if that loved ashley.

Saphra'd kill its own mother if she displeased it.

Everyone can have their own opinion on whether or not they like someone's outfit.  Taste is relative.  I HATED the outfits of Thane, Miranda, Samara and Jack but those characters are so great I don't give a crap what they wear (at most it was a passing eyeroll and then the suspension of disbelief kicked in).  And I'm certainly not going to miss out on great story, character or even a whole game because I dislike what the artists chose to put the characters in.  If the characters were NOTHING but what they wore Bioware would have failed.  But that's not the case.  So chill, folks.  It is not that serious.

And I'm sorry but where is it written that a strong, tough woman can't also be sexy?  I must have missed that memo.

Thank you for insulting my sexual orientation. I would like to inform you that I am a woman myself and do rather enjoy her outfit.

I am not a shallow person either. Perhaps a bit of a rabid Mass Effet fangirl. And I will admit that my views are somewhat tainted by that, but we have absolutely no idea how Ashley has changed over the three years we don't see her, aside from that accident on Horizon.

She has also claimed that she had to 'bury alot of things' to get herself to the position she is in now. Ashley is now a Spectre and can essentially present the middle finger to the rules and dresscodes and wear something that I personally believe suits her. It is simple, elegant and emphasises about all else, that Ashley may be a badass marine, but she is still a mature woman and is capable of looking as such.

I actually have a "You should've worn armor b****." import ready. The only survivors were Grunt, Garrus, Zaeed Tali and Legion.

On the subject of the Spectre uniform:

Shepard: I never got to buy you dinner.

Ash: What?

Shepard: Back when we first went to the Citadel, you said that there was no way you'd ever wear thigh-high boots without me buying you dinner first.

Ash: (laughs) Don't forget the tin foil miniskirt.

Shepard: Ah yes, can't forget that. (sighs) Its good to see you smile again.

Ash: It feels good Skipper.

Shepard: You haven't called me that since I came aboard.

Ash: I figured you'd changed, and you did but you're still my Skipper.

Shepard: And you're still my Cheif.

Ash: I don't think so, Commander Williams just sounds badass.

Shepard: So we can be Skipper and Commander Badass?

Ash: Keep working on it Skipper.
