It's not finished.  And almost none of the facial animations are done.  Anderson didn't even move his mouth while talking and did you see everyone's eyes?  ha!  Rolling around all willy nilly.  I feel the moment he walks away needs one more second of eye contact as he breezes by her but other than that I am LOVING this first encounter.  Nice and awkward and very public and all business.  




I think this look right here is really loaded though.  <3

And what were they supposed to say? I mean Shepard is under pressure to get to the Alliance chefs asap and Anderson and Vega would have heard everything. Better save their first conversation for a situation where they are free to say what they really want to say.

Exactly.  And I know it doesn't sound romantical and emotional but these guys are simply not thinking about whatever issues they have between them right now.  Bigger things to worry about.  They're efficient people who know their priorities.  I wouldn't even expect them to have a real conversation about anything until after they've gotten on the Normandy, decided a course of action and hit the button to take them to somewhere.  Even then, I doubt the first conversation is going to be anything other than friendly.

obviously, it is nowhere near done... The ships had no textures, people popping in and out, people frozen, that one girl sounding like a female microsoft sam. lmao

But Idk, something like "It's good to see you Ashley, or is it Commander now?" Just b/c they need to talk it all out doesn't mean they can't talk beforehand. Then again, that's why I'm not a writer.

Just thought it was kinda weird to be all excited one second and then completely ignore each other the next. *shrug*

or maybe it was... "omg it's him/her!" ..."ok, ok... be calm, act like you don't care... walk past her and don't look, you can do it!" lmfao

I think the problem is Shepard didn't walk away with Anderson. He hung back for a second and then walked past Ash without looking at her. It seemed deliberate.

So, I'm back. Actually I wanted a Miri-Ash-catfight here, but it never worked. Either Miri looked awful or Ashley - and both deserve better.

One thing is important about that scene: the player made a NEW Shepard. That means his Shepard never had Ashley as LI. They know each other since the evens of ME and ME2 did happen, regardless if the player uses a new Shepard or an imported one.

However I can see some slight differences in that scene in case Ashley was Shepard's LI. Maybe just another line, maybe one or two more seconds of gazing - whatever. I don't think that scene will be much different from the one we saw, but especially that Ashley-romance came with a lot of subtle signs in ME, I wouldn't be surprised if her romance will stay that way: lots of subtle signs of affection, but no open emotional firework. That's something they won't show anyone that easily.

I just hope there's no arguing over who's in command of the Normandy, I suspect Ash will just give Shepard the ship.

Sure, but the player did not import an old Shepard for that beta. So that Shepard was "from scratch" *g*

That would be awesome if the player can decide if s/he wants to be in charge or if the VS should be. I'd try both playthroughs, one with Ash as "Skipper" and one with Shepard as CO.

On the subject of the romance conflict I think it's less going to be a catfight so much as Shepard being up the creek without a paddle. I want the abillity for Shepard to explain himself to Ash and the ME2 LI so that there doesn't have to be this big upset.

Mind you, if Shepard leads both LI's on then he deserves some consequences:

Miranda

Ash: I can drill him between the eyes at a hundred yards.

Miranda: As can I.

Ash: Should we let him run? Give him a little false hope?

Miranda: No, we can do that after I bring him back again.

Ash: I like how you think.

Jack:

Ash: I'm going to kill him.

Ash won't be in charge. She's not the main protagonist of the story. Plus there's no indication that she'll be with us 100% of the time either. Shepard will be in charge. Though this might be a fun conversation:

Shepard: Guess I'll head to my quarters.
Ash: Uh, you mean my quarters. I've been commanding the Normandy, remember?
Shepard: Oh...yeah I....guess I hadn't thought of that.
Ash: I hear Miranda's old quarters are pretty nice, if a little less spacious. *grin*

There's no doubt she'll let shepard have it.She thought it was bull**** that anderson got his ship taken away and she no doubts thought it was bull**** that shepard got the same treatment.

At least we learned why the camera guy focused on DAT ASS in ME2.

Seriously, with all that focusing on Mirandas ass in ME2, I hope that guy got fired. I don't want Ashley's ass focused all time while talking to her. She deserves better.
