Kaidan - in Mass effect one Staff Lieutenant
Kaidan - in Mass effect two Lieutenant Commander.
Now in Mass effect three he jump to Major missing staff Commander.

Now let look at Ash.
Ash was a Gunnery Chief in Mass effect one
Ash was promoted to the rank of Operations Chief in Mass effect two
now in Mass effect three she jump four ranks in little of two years.

I hope they promoted joker too because that will really sucks.

I believe Kaiden was a Staff Commander in Mass Effect 2. Jumping 2 ranks in 2 years is way more plausible than 2 ranks in a few months. However I agree with you 100% on Ashley. Her jump seems quite excessive.

I really hope they don't just handwave the promotion for either one.  I really want to know how Ash jumped 4 ranks in half as many years.

Neither is Garrus. He's sort of trying for Space Punisher. Definitely a Marvel hero anyway. DC's pretty obsessive about Killing Is Morally Wrong Always and Batman is that theory's patron saint.

Offtopic but returning to Ash again: What do you mean? Garrus doesn't really kill intentionally in the first place unless it is self defense. The only time Garrus really just wants to kill with no remorse is during his loyalty mission (and you can prevent this) and the way he puts the scare on his targets is exactly what Batman does.

I think Shepard is technically the Spectre she and Kaidan trained under. something like a post mission crew evaluation which was used to get her noticed by the Alliance brass.

I'm wondering if Ash's commission came with the Spectre status.  From what we hear from Garrus in ME1 Spectre candidacy is based less on rank than it is on one's own abilities. Perhaps after Shepard died Ash applied for Spectre training to pick up where Shepard left off.

IT was probably alotte dwith Spectre status so that she'd have an official alliance rank to go along with her being outside of the chain of command, so she could give orders along with not having to receive any. She really can't be ordered around with Spectre status, ebcaus when you're a spectre doing arrival and you pester hackett and he goes "I know I can't order you too but do this for me."
