It could have been worse. Remember it's just an outline of a larger story. It's not like ME1, but it's more than ME2 gave us. I look forward to seeing her in ME3.

It looks not THAT bad, we all saw something like that coming, so ... I can take it. I hope it's not another of those decisions you ONLY can do if you got a full bar of morality or something - in that case, paragade / renagon players will have their issues.

I have read the pertinent spoilers, and suspect it's not as bad as all that.  Without being too spoiler-y, it looked like a draft with several potential points to insert a, how shall I phrase it  "potentially strong arguement" to take place.  I counted no less than three such places.  I suspect that in the end, there will be only one such pont.  Keeping all of them in the storyline would be not only insulting to the fans, but totally redundant.

Some sort of final confrontation between Shepard and Ash is pretty much a given.  Horizon laid the groundwork for that.  At some point Shep will have to show his true colors regarding the Alliance, for or against.  At some point Ash is going to have to show once and for all if she trusts Shepard.  It will have to be emotional and dramtatic, especially if there's a romance involved.  I just hope that Bioware pulls it off without turning the VS into the aforementioned "punching bag" or punishing the player.

But regardless, I will not abandon Ash, even if Bioware hasB)

Bioware did make the statemnet that the spoilers are old, but I don't know. Crawling with a [spoilers] might be different and new in terms of gameplay, but it reminds me of the Modern Warfare 2 ending a bit.

Well, this is certainly a spirit damper. But still I maintain that no matter how much crap Ashley has been made to do by Bioware, she's still my #1 girl in Mass Effect and even with all those trust issues and damaging moments, I will still romance her no matter how difficult it is.

Plus even with all the unfortunate things that have happened and may happen in the future, Horizon, the new design, the things that may happen in Mass Effect 3 I want to remind you all that we will always have the night before Illos and the rest of the relationship in Mass Effect 1.
Nothing can change that and no one can take that away from us. Ashley will always be that sassy strong, passionate and brave woman who I met on Eden Prime.
Nothing will change that for me, and no one can take that away from me.

I've posted it a few times already but to reiterate:
Ladies and Gentlemen, here is Frank Sinatra and Natalie Cole singing 'they can't take that away from me' which will forever summarize my feelings for Ashley Williams and the experience of Mass Effect 1 in general:

Edit: @iakus; Hm, that's a good point you raise, if the actual scene's a little different, it might not be too bad, but if it's like they put it here, then I fear, I won't like it a all.

Missed that post of V-Rex: it's the same for me. No matter what BW is throwing at the VS or me, I'll stay loyal. I simply hope there's a rewarding outcome for Shepley, especially after all the drama. Maybe that's how BW wants to keep us fighting for that particular LI - they want to make it difficult, challenging and somewhat unpleasant - and will give us the most beautiful outcome?

Just think about it. And if not, remember: Ash is worth it.

Lets have 5 or 10 pages "free of spoilers" and we're fine. I try not too dig too deep into those spoilers, because I don't wanna spoil someone's experience. So yeah - best is to reduce spoiler info to zero for a couple of pages. Better than restarting this thread or editing all posts.

Whatever. If you ask me, from what I read already, it's not that bad. It could be worse. We all knew we have to go through some drama and BW adds drama. That's all and my statement is not too spoilerish.

And I think the problem with keeping the thread spoiler free is that someone will come barging in with a statement like: "Omg I've just heard: SPOILER" next to that I have the feeling people will want to talk about this, so that's why I suggested a spoiler free group, if there is the need for it.
