Agreed, she's a sarcastic, tough, family loving, poetry quoting, party girl who likes to let Shepard know how corny his chat up lines are ''Tell me you didn't get that out of a fortune cookie?'' ''You are totally shamless, you need your own line of greeting cards'' LOL!

I hope Ash is still Ash and not so serious all the time too, whilst showing maturity at the same time. I hope when they say she's more mature they dont really mean ''We cant write epic characters like Chris L'etoile so we just changed her''

I do enjoy her lighter side. It's nice to have one when you know there's a ton of crap going on around the galaxy.Posted Image

Agreed, most people were so depressed and serious in ME2, I couldn't see them as friends, I seen them as co-workers, I seen Ash as a Friend and co-worker.

You are optimistic, guys. I am not so much.
But anyway let's just enjoy her lighter side. And we still have the ME1.

@Funkcase; about the spoiler that's interesting but also a little unfair, I think, although I haven't read all spoilers just the Ash related ones so it might not be that unfair..Don't know if that makes sense.Posted Image

Indeed Deelane whatever happens they can't take ME1 and all of its Ash goodness away from us!

Yay, Ashley bomb *g*
Dialogue - and definitely spoiler free!
(At least no new spoilers except those from the intro of that leaked beta)

Ashley: So, what's up, Shepard?
Shepard: Not much. I'm in the jail ...
Ashley: I can see that. How comes? Working for the wrong guys, hmm?
Shepard: Very funny, Ash. You know I couldn't do any different.
Ashley: No, I don't know that. It doesn't matter. Seems as if you did your mission. Costed more than 300,000 lives of Batarians.
Shepard: That wasn't my mission. You know that, I had to defeat the Collectors. The destruction of the Alpha Relay was not one of Cerberus' jobs. It was Hackett, he told me to go in and find out what's happening. And I was there to rescue an old friend of him.
Ashley: Ah yes.
Shepard: I failed.
Ashley: Obviously.
Shepard: But I kept the Reapers out of our galaxy. At least out of the Relay network. They're here. And they will reach our space within one or two months.
Ashley: Shepard, I wish I could believe you. But I'm not. Yes, we defeated Saren and Sovereign. But there's not the slightest evidence the Reapers are that close. Are you sure? They could be here in hundred or in thousand years, but not that soon.
Shepard: They will be here, Ashley. I know it. I almost can sense them.
Ashley: You're obsessed ... aren't you?
Shepard: The doctor said I'm fine. Not even a tiny hint of PTSD.
Ashley: Shepard ... you can't be right. If the Reapers arrive within a few weeks, we're not prepared, not enough. They're burn Earth. They'll burn every world.
Shepard: I know. This isn't about tactics ... it's about survival. And you know that, deep in your heart.
Ashley: John ... just ... need to go. Goodbye, Shepard. We'll see us before facing that trial.

By the way, you don't have the rest of the spoilers? I told Mega it's not worth digging deeper, but if you got the other parts, I won't mind reading them. I just re-read the part Mega sent me (first part) and the more often I read it, the less bad it sounds. Maybe that's because I've got some sense in my mind again after all the emotional stuff earlier this day.

And yeah ... we need more dialogues. Hope Aurora will come back ... and all the other guys writing dialogues.

They way i see it a remember that Casey Hudson said in one of his many interviews that they planned to revard p-layers that stayed faithfull to their LI, since my LI was ashley and I stayed faithful i say that your scenario would be punishment not revard so I think that somebody did some colllective editing and added that file to cause commotion. I think that Ashley will not work with kai leng or help him in any way.

@Data; I have what Mega send me, which is all Ash, so I dunno, ah heck I'll just send you aswell while I'm at it.

I might start writing some dialogues again aswell, I didn't feel the need anymore since there were plenty of the dialogues going on, maybe that'll change again.

I think all the reunions were inadequate. Active romance or not.

Does anyone get the feeling that Ashley is in a "tragic hero" role? Hamartia and all that?

You mind to remove a certain part of your text? Since it's a spoiler

And yes, I hope staying faithful to Ashley will make a difference in certain situations when loyalty is stressed to the utmost possible. I want my Ash back. 'nuff said.

In that case, it also applies to Kaidan (since he and Ashley share their role, lets hope they don't share their characters) as well. Yeah, they're kinda tragic heroes. I'd say Shepard is a tragic hero too. I think most of the guys around Shepard are somewhat tragic heroes or anti-heroes because of their character development.

Look at them! Just look at them! They loves each other! They loves each other so much!!!

Gonna remain optimistic. Data is right; it gets better the more times you read it... I trust Bioware to do the right thing with the final product!

Hamartia is a fault committed through ignorance, isn't it?  As it is, we have enough trouble trying to convince people about Horizon (what with Shepard's return being unprecedented, so Ashley has no real way of knowing that he's telling the truth).  If something worse happens, it'll just feel like Bioware encouraged us to fall in love with this wonderful character and then cruelly punished us for it in the subsequent two games.  Not a fan.

Yep, you're right. Giving one of the most (and imo best) developed characters away for the drama is bad enough. Punishing the player for "falling in love" with that particular player is even worse.

Lets hope that Ashley!LI (and Kaidan!LI) will have it's own happy end. Or at least an end where they're together.

Gawd, I'm a hopeless romantic. My fiancee would tell you different, but that's another story

More or less. However, I feel that this whole plot suits Ashley, given her tendencies towards suspicion and pessimism shown in ME1, much better than it does Kaidan.

We don't know what happened to Kaidan while Shepard was dead. Maybe Kaidan lost most of his optimism? Okay, I never considered him as an optimist, but also no pessimist. He seems to have a more positive attitude than Ashley however.

Ashley is always a bit negative, distrustful and tends to lash out rather than to go for a diplomatic solution. So she's the more aggressive character of both but also the one with MORE layers to explore in a romantic relationship. Kaidan is a perfect match for a more aggressive Shepard to keep her grounded, while Ashley is a good partner for a Shepard that's mostly paragon.

I don't dig in that "opposites stuff" but in that case it works. Kaidan for a renegade-->renagon!Shepard, Ashley for a paragade-->paragon!Shepard. That's how I see it.

Some years after the events of ME3.

Ashley: Hey Skip - what are you doing here?
Shepard: Just the usual, Ash. You know me. Saving the galaxy and such.
Ashley: And I thought we did that already ...
Shepard: Yeah, the Reapers are gone. True. But do you have any idea how many years it's going to take to rebuild those worlds?
Ashley: Decades?
Shepard: At least. Centuries for Elcor, they're a bit slow ...
Ashley: Haha. Na, seriously, what's up?
Shepard: I'd like to recruit you, Ash. I need you, on my ship.
Ashley: Skip, you know you can't do that. You're just a Rear Admiral, I'm Admiral.
Shepard: That's no order, Ash.
Ashley: Yeah. Still, I have my duties ...
Shepard: Ash, I know you. Deep in your heart you hate your desk. Come with me.
Ashley: Heck with it. You're right, Skipper!
Shepard: So you're ready?
Ashley: Ready as ever - lets save the galaxy!
Shepard: Oh, and by the way, don't read my new ship's name.
Ashley: Why?
Shepard: Ah nevermind.
Ashley: Jooohn?
Shepard: Okay, okay. I called her "CSV Ashley Williams SR3"
Ashley: You didn't.
Shepard: I did.
Ashley: No way.
Shepard: Hey, I can call my ship like I want. And since I couldn't get my wife with me because of her "duties", I wanted to have her arround at least as my ship.
Ashley: You're trying too hard. It's cute ... *smiles*
Shepard: Come with me, it'll be like good old times ...
Ashley: God no. Not another burning Earth!
Shepard: Just like when we were at the hunt for Saren.
Ashley: Sounds good enough to me, Skip!
Shepard: Joker, make it happen! Ash is back!
Joker: Yeah - like good ol times - without burning Earth, of course! ETA 5 minutes!
Ashley: I like the way how he thinks!
Shepard: You two are killing me ...
Ashley: By the way, did Joker got what he wants? I'm not up to date here ...
Shepard: As far as I know ... yes. The Hanar helped a lot, but yes. He's going to be father soon ... I wonder how a Quarian-Human child looks ...
Ashley: That could be interesting. So what you're waiting for?! Get me on that damn ship!
Shepard: Yes Ma'am!

I really don't worry about what players that hate Ash think ... or haters of Liara ... or haters of [insert character here]. All I want from Bioware is to give me a game that challenges me and leaves me a little world-weary like my poor Shepard.

When I played ME1 it was Virmire that first time that sucked me in and said "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore". Here I was arguing with this big krogan that I was growing to really like and because I didn't get his armor or have enough red/blue pointy things (which I still hate to this day and wish that they would get rid of ... but oh, well) ... I stood there as Wrex, my buddy, was killed by Ash. I was upset that I had failed at saving him and also thankful that a team mate had my back.

But before I had time to mourn or even catch my breath I found myself about to lose another member and they were both telling me to save the other. WTF? Really?

I was hooked! This game was not pulling punches and promised a rough little ride to me.

This is what I am hoping for ME3. Those punches and decisions that have no 100% happy ending. Where you can't save everyone ... heck, name a war where everyone came out safe, with hard decisions along with prior game decisions that seemed wise now slapping you in the face. But blue was the right pick, right?

Comparing Liara to Ash makes no sense to me - they are very different personalities and Liara has court advantage in trusting Shepard because she has been in his/her mind. Asaris cheat that way.

Ashley is human, tough, skeptical (a trait that I share in real life) and tries to be no man's fool. If her relationship ran the same course as Liara I would be disappointed. It's already bad enough that Ash & Kaidan seem to follow the same line even though they are quite different as well.

If the leaks turn out to be true it works for me ... and it makes their (PV Shepard & Ashley) relationship that much more powerful and on the edge. While EW Shepard (who is with Liara) is my canon Shepard, honestly it is PV Shepard's story that is pulling me in with its twist and turns. This relationship with Ash has me on pins & needles ... worried that somehow the hero won't be able to save what is most important to him. To be honest, it feels that the story between the VS and Shepard takes the spotlight ... not Liara. My Shepard/Liara relationship is lacking that suspense at this moment. But who knows what may be in store for them that has not been "leaked". Fingers crossed that all relationships have their moments and the more on edge they are the better.

I asked Bioware to push me to the edge, challenge my Shepard and top the whole Virmire experience and I have a feeling that they are. While others may hate it this camper is excited and very happy in a "dear Bacchus say it isn't so" kind of happy!

Phone off the hook, calendar cleared of all appointments for at least three days, a bottle or two of Jameson Whiskey, box(es) of kleenex and my controller = my first ME3 playthrough. Posted Image

*This is just my own personal hope for the game and I respect those that want a much more "happy" game with a 100% success (all characters live, all planets survive, etc). Until the game is released we honestly don't know what it will have in it though. I am going to just take the ride that Bioware takes me on and thank them for letting me play with characters that I've grown to really like.
