Are you kidding me? So Kaidan also being able to show more of his emotions means he's terribly implimented? If you're talking abotu what I think you're talking about I'll just say this, Alenko has served longer than Shepard so eh has a higher level of maturity and decision making. His character so far has been implimented just fine, alot better than some of the a characters you chose to put ahead of them.Xilizhra wrote...
I've revised my opinion somewhat, away from the idea that Ashley and Kaidan are the two worst-implemented characters in Mass Effect. I now only believe it's Kaidan; Ashley's implementation is just fine. But Kaidan, if he survives, appears shoved into Ashley's story, a fact even more apparent with the spoilers, which... well, quite frankly, fit Ashley's personality, or what we saw of it in ME1, much better.
I'm not saying that Kaidan's character is bad, but I am saying that I don't think it's a good thing to have two characters made to fill the exact same role, and to have the story not really change at all regardless of which one happens to be alive.ADLegend21 wrote...

CptData, that document is fascinating. It's going to take me a while to absorb it all. For now, just let me say that I take my hat off to you. I will get back to you with more comments later.CptData wrote...
Soo ... I'm done with my stuff. I just "rewrote" the ME-storyline a bit ... *whew* take 4 hours or so.
And all to allow Kaidan & Ashley surviving Virmire together AND for some more story as well.
God I'm obsessed.
Just in case you wanna check it out
Seriously, this! I'm so glad someone else noticed this. It really bothered me and is such a stereotype. Not that I'd necessarily want, say, Wrex to be rescued, but it'd be nice if one of the female squaddies wasn't.Xilizhra wrote...
I realize there are several other implementation issues. The dialogue of pretty much everyone in ME1 was very strangely arranged. All the female squadmates had to be rescued, for some reason. Etc.

Thank goodness it's safe. I'm going to update the Mordin thread with a similar tagline later. Maybe he'll, uh, incinerate spoilers.

Thank god for that. I didn't dislike what I read, but I dislike people picking over and over it again, especially since they have already pointed out that was beta material, not final product. If it pans out, it pans out, if it doesn't it doesn't.

This is kind of how I feel about it. I trust that I'm gonna love the story even if it doesn't fit with my personal nitpicking desires. I also know a lot of that stuff was beta like you said so even the things I think "well that seems heavy handed" doesn't mean all things or even most ended up that way. And even if they do, I'm actually more intrigued than ever.
Also like I said I made sure not to glean too much from it. I just scanned it like I was a robot. LOL. I'll probably just remember a bunch of details in my dream tonight and have to wake my husband up.
Me: OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT!
Husband *jolts awake*: WHAT? What's wrong?
Me: OH GOD HOLD ME!
Husband *pancking*: Are you okay?!
Me: I.... just remembered that Garrus discovered he loves doughnuts in ME3. THE ENTIRE GAME IS SPOILED! *sob*
Husband: .............You're insane.
BRING IT, MARCH.
