Kaidan: Do you have any hobbys? Some stuff you're interested in? Military past? Anything?
Ashley: Yes, but why ...
Kaidan: Pick one of these topics next time Shepard talks to you. It's not that difficult.
Ashley: I like poems ... Tennyson ..
Kaidan: Then pick that.
Ashley: What if Shepard is not interested in poems and such?
Kaidan: If he's interested in you, he'll listen, no matter what stuff you're telling. Just be interesting. Okay?

Continuation of first Ashley/Vega dialogue.

After meeting up with Shepard, Ashley and Vega are sent to infiltrate a supposed Cerberus base. Things don't go quite as planned.

Ashley: This door is sealed. We're locked in on this side...There's got to be another way out."
James: "Yeah...there will be when Shepard's squad comes to extract us."
Ashley: *scans room with omni-tool*
James: "Sending a distress call?"
Ashley: "No. I won't allow that. Two high ranking Alliance officers should be able to get themselves out of a locked room. This is late twenty first century architecture, it shouldn't take either genius or extraordinary manpower to get us out of here. Besides, the Salarian complement would have a field day making jokes of the, "How many humans does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" variety. I won't stomach it."
James: "I think we're just wasting time. You're not going to find anything with that omni-tool."
Ashley: "You got a better idea?"
James: "No, I'm not Macgyver."
Ashley: "No, he would have been smart enough not to move a box which was propping open a door."
James: "Well, if you would have just accepted my help we wouldn't be here in the first place."
Ashley: ...
James: "Now I know why you haven't made up with Shepard, you have some serious trust issues with men." *Picks up her modified assault rifle* "And a rather interesting choice of weapons. Isn't this outdated tech?"
Ashley: "What do you think you're doing?" *snatches rifle*
James: "Taking an inventory of our firepower. If we're gonna do things your way we'll need something powerful enough to blast through these walls. *sarcastically* We add my Carnifex Hand Cannon to your Mattock Assult Rifile and we might just have enough to scratch the security glass over there. *frustrated* And why the hell weren't we better equipped for this assignment?"
Ashley: "Because a stealth mission requires us not to blow up with grenade launchers, eveything we see. And if you try to touch me or my stuff one more time, I swear to God, I'm going to empty an entire clip from this assault rifle into your heart. Am I being clear?"
James: "Crystal."
Ashley: "Good."
James: "...By the way, you might want to check into the Tsunami series, it..."
Ashley: *glares*
James: "Nevermind."

Vega: So it's true?
Ashley: You son of ... god. You got me. What's wrong with me?!
Vega: Don't know. Tell me?
Ashley: I lashed against you because stuff that should be over for years now ...
Vega: Maybe it's not over.
Ashley: Lets pretend it IS over. It'll make our job easier.
Vega: If you insist.
Ashley: Indeed.
Vega: In that case: what now?
Ashley: What?
Vega: How to get out of here.
Ashley: Gimme some time and I'll make a plan.

Honestly, we've talked Shepley to death and can't go on without talking spoilers. I'm actually mroe interested in talking about Just Ashley since she's got 3 years of character Development to her, much to explore, so much to talk about!

Hmm, if you accept different dialogues with Ashley as main cast, I'm fine. At least we can explore her character while she's interacting with others.
In case you do not accept ... uhh ... no idea. I live my dialogues - kinda. And so does Aurora I believe.

Also a bit different to find new stuff about Ashley without making her "headcanon" if you know what I mean. My Ashley is a coffee addict and comes with a tough outside but a soft spot she rarely shows. However several guys (in my headcanon) seems to know how to penetrate that outer shell - and it's not always a romantic experience. Means - if you hurt Ash, she'll lash out at you violently.

Yeah ... something like that, AD.

Lemme think about it - I guess she'll work alone or with only one other person to do her job. She's not the most social person and tends to make stuff on her own. Maybe because she's not that social like Shepard OR because she doesn't want to put someone's life in danger - the later one sounds good to me. Ash also seems to be too reserved towards people she doesn't know, plus being a "realist" she won't recruit a big team.

Does Spectre Ash have a ship, besides being interim CO of the Normandy? Most likely. Guess she'll have a special modified fighter for solo missions or a prototype long range shuttle.

In my version she loves dancing, Vogue magazine, shoots tequila better than most but prefers Irish coffee, is an avid runner & cyclist, would kill for a plate of sliced tomatoes, mashed potatoes and top sirloin steak, has a mad crush on the old matinee idol Gregory Peck (To Kill A Mockinbird is her favorite movie) so much that she dated an attorney briefly because of Peck's Atticus Finch portrayel.

That just to start.

Yeah, kinda the same. My fav quote about Ashley's coffee addiction:  She loves her coffee hot, black, tough and with less than a (tea) spoon sugar. Shepard usually takes milk and at least one spoon of sugar, sometimes two.
And yes, Ash considers Shepard as "not a true coffee addict". The thing is - I am a coffee addict and I use to have milk and sugar in my cup. So Shepard is me coffeewise, while Ash is me when I started drinking coffee twelve years ago.

Indeed. Dunno what Ashley would not. One "would not" however exists: she would not cheat on Shepard. She's very loyal to him but even more to the Alliance and her family. That also explains some of the hardships she has to go through (Horizon).

Ash is a wonderful dancer while my Shepard is just "awful". But he overplays it with his natural confidence so it doesn't look that bad. Irish coffee works for "my" Ashley as well. Dunno about the rest, never carved out her fav dishes. She has however a taste for beer (irish ale & german beer) and speaks some of the european languages (English, Spain, German at least and she tried French, but failed).

Horizon wasn't an issue for me ... Ash is Alliance first and foremost in my "headcanon" and PV Shepard knows that. The fight they had on Horizon was both professional (Alliance) and personal with Shepard not yet truly understanding that life had went 2 years without him. Words were said on both sides meant to hurt each other ... Shepard was initially pissed, then confused ... and finally understood that she had mourned him while he slept through it all. In the end he found comfort with Miranda but quickly regretted what he had done.

I'm glad that I played both ME1 & ME2, developed my own opinion of the events and characters, before ever setting foot on the BSN. I didn't realize, among other things, that I was suppose to hate her after Horizon ... instead I was angry that Shepard (we) couldn't smooth talk her like everyone else.

Me: "Where the frick is my blue or red choice!" 

Friend: "I thought you hated the stupid paragon/renegade options"

Me: *slamming on the keyboard* "I do! But dear god this is a train wreck!"

Friend: "Reminds me of that fight I just had with my girlfriend."

Me: "Totally! I'm having flashbacks of being stupid while my ex yelled at me."

Shepard: *looking at screen* "So you two are feeling my pain?"

Me/Friend: "Yep."

I don't use the "Bioware wanted to keep the VS/Liara off the Normandy" or "Bioware wanted you to cheat" in my view of those scenes. I have to play it as is and through Shepard's eyes only. What's funny is that male Shepard was pissed more at himself over Horizon after he had time to cool down while my female Shepard was pissed at Liara's cold shoulder on Illium all the way up to the end of LotSB. It was only until they had their talk after the boss fight that she started to soften towards Liara.

Once ME3 comes out I will avoid the board again to enjoy my games through mine & Shepard(s) eyes without taking on other people's luggage. After playing through a few times, killing off squadmates due to wrong choices and having my Shepards yell at me ... then I'll return to read how some people had "perfect games" with no deaths and very limited galaxy casualities of which they played on Uber-insanity X12 because they are gaming gods.

Me? Casual-mode and Tali still dies ... WTF? No gaming god here.

My 2 cents

Ash actually strikes me as very social, she fit's in well when she joins the Normandy in ME1, it's only a matter of minutes before she starts teaing Joker. I think it depends on the situation, most cases she'll probably work by herself, but other times in thick combat situations she'll probably have a squad of other Alliance marines, we know Ash is a great Leader already, one who's strict but fair.

Ash has the Normandy, atleast while Shepard's in chains, other than that? Who knows. I assume she would be given one after Shepard is reinstated (A Spectre needs a ship) but she chooses to stay onboard the Normandy and work with Shepard instead.

Slow day today, I guess some people are still upset about the spoilers?
