I am very happy they denounced the leak footage. I heard it was garbage, so that's definitely a good thing. Perhaps Ashley reached through the screen and grabbed Hudson by the collar and ordered him to change it...

I actually did like what I read, sure it was unexpected and I initially thought I ruined the gaming experience for myself, but after going through it from start to finish (that was one long afternoon.... -.-) I actually liked what I read. Though Renagade Shepard was a bit merciless about the whole VS affair in my humble opinion. Felt a little bit 'Um, wow' about it, but generally, I liked what I read. I know my Femshep does... she wants to snag Vega Much to my manshep's anger and frustation.

Ashley: Uh um, off the top of my head? Swearing is involved. You're second death gets explained.
Shepard: Yea, how did I die the second time?
Ashley: Haven't got anything solid yet. But it's supposed to end with clothes flying and a lotta kissing.
Shepard: We go from wanting to rip each other's throats out to frenzied sex?
Ashley: Long and short of it.
Shepard: Wouldn't that be kind of hollow.
Ashley: Oh, yes. We also get married after the war, apparently.

The Galaxy is in civil war, all the major governments/species/cultures that were involved in stopping the Reapers have pretty much fallen apart. It's a merciless, lawless cosmos that made the pre-war period look like a tea party out of 'Pride and Predjudice'.

It's gone to sh*t, and Shepard had died a second time (though he was only clyinically dead, his brain was still functional thanks to the implants and he got revived about twenty minutes later - hence the 'I've already died twice' line.), so as the Galaxy grew more bitter and merciless, so did the gang. An example is that one point during, when Anderson tries to recruit Shepard again, his answer is put bluntly: 'f*ck off'.

The 'Halcyon Confedarate' I created is a multi-lateral organisation trying to re-establish order and government, while the rest of the galaxy want them to ****** off and stop trying so hard. And the tolls that I believe would have been suffered during the Reaper War finally manifest in outward agression. Hence Ash and Shepard's bitter and rather emotionless reunion in that snippet, desepite their being lovers (or possibly married at this point, I have no idea. Gotta see the ME3 epilogue for that). Also, be noted at that point in time, Ash has PTSD, which in part was caused by Shepard... again.

I wanted to come back to this:
First off yeah, from what I've seen I think you can pull it off.
I do wonder are you going to have a prologue expostitioning the story, or are you going to make the story background clearer by weaving it through the story?
And, excuse my forgetfulness, (too many snippets/dialogues around to remember which were Halcyon for me), to what degree are the characters recognisable, since there's quite a big gap between who they were and who they are it seems, are you gonna cross that gap somehow?

It's pretty interesting stuff as far as I'm concerned and I haven't read any fanfic like it, so I like forward to it!

Really? I read most of it. And I thought it was great/good. But it needed more content, I thought some of the scenes were missin lines...which is probably true

75% is rest

So the leaked stuff MUST BE incomplete.
