the alliance isnt perfect (no goverment instatution is) but it tries hard to do whats best for the galaxy.

Which is why the alliance did NOTHING against the collectors? Which is why they didn't give 2 sh!ts about Shepard or bringing him/her back? *eye roll*

EDIT: dammit... the convo has moved on. I always miss the good debates. :(

As for what Ashley thought, I think she would be at all the meetings/hearings/or w/e ... in the beginning right after Shepard's death to very vocally express her disbelief that the alliance brass/council are actively denying the reaper threat when they just nearly were killed by one. I can see her getting red-faced at those type of meetings and then asked to step out and cool off. Then ordered to forget about it and not attend these things anymore. lol

1.the collecters were attacking colonies out on the fringes of the terminus, those ppl said "f*ck the allaince and council im moveing to the most dangerous part of the galaxy and try and make it on my own",against alliance and council warnings (even deelan that mechanic was warned about the collecters but thought they were alliance lies) they were warned, they didnt listen; the alliance shouldnt get the blame for doing not enough to help them when its not their obligation to run and help them in the first place.once tose ppl left the borders of council space they were on their own JUST HOW THEY WANTED IT.you tell me why the alliance should  risk war in the terminuns and spend rescources on a bunch of idoits who dont even want your help when you can focus on the ppl who listen to you and stayed in the saftey of your borders.

not only that the damn alliance tried to help when they realized the abductions werent pirate raids or batarian slavers they sent ash to the next colony they thought was going to be hit.with her she brought powerful anit-air craft turrents and TOLD THEM "hey, you should REALLY get these things online as soon as possible"

but Nooooo the terminuns colonist  in their INFINET wisdom decide to fix thier comm relays instead.hmmm fix your big gun or fix your telephone.........yea great judgment there, had they fixed the AA guns first the collecters probley wouldnt have abducted half the colony.

2.of course the council and the alliance werent going to ressurect him,the concept of bringing someone back to life from the DEAD is ridculous, the only reason why cerberus did it was beacuse bioware wrote them as the only ones who would/could do it and not only that like i said before the alliance is a goverment not some rogue fringe  group who operates under the galactic radar.the alliance is regulated by policey, law and public oppion ressurecting someone from the dead would be so expensive and so controversial that it wouldnt be worth it from their view.

I don't really have a problem with them saying "screw those idiots who didn't heed the warnings." That's not the issue. The issue is them denying the reapers existence and not actively working against the collectors whom they know to be working with the reapers.
Even if they didn't want to recover and bring back Shepard... what were they doing to stop the reaper threat? Nothing. Unless you count digging a hole to put their head in just like the council had been doing since ME1. Not only do they KNOW that the reapers exist... they freaking destroyed one almost by themselves... but nope, they want to forget it ever happened and would doom the galaxy by not doing anything about it. Whereas Cerberus actuallys wants to do something about it.
quoting myself:

"Cerberus wants to stop the reapers (as of ME2), if only to protect and elevate humanity, but still they are actively doing something against them, while no one else is. To my Shepard, (a no non-sense, get the job done type guy... just like on Torfan) that commands respect and he is willing to give them a shot in ME2 since they did bring him back to life. All of this is why I can't stand that we are having to fight Cerberus in ME3 after just working for them. They really coulnd't come up with another badass type footsoldier to fight in ME3?

That being said, now that Cerberus is against my Shepard.... all bets are off and he'll screw them every chance he gets."

like i said, from our perspective knowing what we know as shepard (the main hero) the council and the alliance seem like fools for not beliving the reaper threat.but from THEIR perspective they have not seen anything  that would warrant any serious action against an enemy they dont belive exists.i never thought of the councils actions as burying their heads in the sand,i see it as them not haveing enough proof to belive such a fantastic story.

them discrediting shepard was not personnel, they didnt want to cause a panic.

anyway my faveorite fun ash moment is pretty much all her romantic dialogue, just so well written and realistic.so real that shepard and ash's relationship reminds me exactly of one that i was in a few years back with a girl named angelina Posted Image

we need happytimes! What's everyone's fave memory of Ash?

That's a tough one, it's a toss-up between the locker scene & the convo about her sisters, for me.

I love it when she talks about her family and her beliefs.  It really adds depth to her character, and shows that she has a life outside of the military.

I also love her banter with Kaidan. The two of them have some of the best in the game.

Ash: nah, I'm good.

ME1 didnt really have any in depth or fun squad banter like dragon age dose. (for the life of me cant figure out why the hell the ME team dosent GET IT)

but i really like the ones where ash tells garrus and tali to be careful when they talk to humans, that some of them may try and blame turians and quarians for eden prime.i always got the feeling if it did happen and someone started accusing garrus or tali ash would jump in and defend them.

I agree!  I love the way Kaidan says that line, and the way Ash reacts so nonchalantly, yet so happily and sarcastic at the same time. XD

One of my favorite scenes with Ash is when Shepard is dealing with Samesh Bhatia (husband of Nirali, former 212 member). Her consoling him and talking about his wife showed her softer side, her compassionate side. It also revealed how at least one of her teammates felt about her (respect).

Another scene is where Shepard speaks to her shortly after talking to Anderson in the medbay. It shows her insecurity, her motivation as a soldier (protecting civilians) as well as her strength of character ... She feels unworthy to be on the team, talks about the impact of not only her team's demise but civilians dying and yet is quick to build up Shepard when he talks about the mission failing.

oh .. and the "sir, they have flashlight heads" still kills me. Posted Image

*ash cringes,in preperation of being chewed out*

"no worries ash,not your fault no way to know what would happen*

*thinks to her self* "wait.....what? not my fault....oh wow, really"?

"the Lt. and i carried you back to the ship".

"thank you,i appreaciate it very much"

*ash's heart skips a beat* *smiles to her self*

what follows after is legend.
