No, of course not. It's a perfectly reasonable thing to want, given that Ashley has never previous worn armour with cleavage.

She's trying to win back Shepard.

The very concept of that pisses me off.

That's what bioware is telling us though. Apparently she isn't sexy enough, so cleavage, tight rubber suits, long hair.... Derp. I really hope we get to see her armor soon. I'm about ready to toss my hands in the air and go with a kaiden save. (or at least just leave her on the ship. She doesn't want to dress the part i'm keeping her out of war.)

Le sigh/

I completely agree! And not only that... that's NOT Ashley at all!!!

Then again, Bioware doesn't seem to really know who Ash is anyway...

I don't think Ashley's new look has anything to do with her trying to "win" Shepard back. Bioware's character-designs have been very Fan Service-driven, just like nearly every-other video game character. Ashley is just another product/victim (depending on your viewpoint) of the medium.

He didn't screw up the character b/c the best characters are the ones that bring out strong feelings from the fans. And in Ashley's case, you either love her or hate her.

Very well written character. (At least in ME1) and IMO the BEST written character in ME1.

He screwed up the "not speciesist" part, if he wasn't trying for it.

I must say I like the fact that they flat out admitted that they redesigned her with intent to give her sex appeal, granted I still am not exactly pleased that they did that but at least they were honest about it.

Anyway I agree with Admiral Cheez about the other concept art in that it looks like earlier concepts for Ashley's 'officer uniform', at least I sincerely hope that's what they are. It would certainly be equivical to side stepping a pot hole only to fall of a bridge if Bioware finally gave Ashley armor only to also include a boob window.
But still, I'm going to try to remain hopeful and even *if* Bioware decide to just stick with 'sexy' being Ashley's only look, I can live with it... I'd be frustrated but I would be able to live with it.

But still all of these pictures and such are awesome, it would be that all the new news shows up while I'm asleep.

I think the "giving her sex appeal" is somewhat okay. She is their character and, I think she's come into her own and still wants to look like a lady while being a badass spectre. The only female spectre (outside of femshep who can have a wide array of hair styles) we've seen is Tela Vasir and since her species does't have hair she can't let her hair down.Image IPB

I'm all for Ashley changing her looks, since people in real life don't look the same everyday and since it's been three years I think her tastes as a person would have changed in that span. The devs are calling the characters real people now after all.Image IPB

Miranda stayed on the ship till she got some armor. Same with everyone else save when applicable.

Mordin you need to come along for some science? Alright fine just this once.. Miranda you want to come along? Put some frakking armor on. You have no excuse.

That's a little extreme.

Me, I made a point to take characters I didn't like on missions.  I usually wound up liking them a whole helluva lot more.

She already did look like a lady. She was already attractive. She was already badass AND SHE KNEW IT.

I don't know if its because her writer left, or if this is part of biowares latest trend to go AWESOME BUTTON on us but the more I see it the more I feel one of my favorite characters slipping away.

Who said anything about not liking them? I love mordin and I like miranda. They are still staying on the ship. The battlefield is no place for painful wedgie suits.

first, get that "winning shepard back" crap outta here, that's not the case since there's a posibility that Shepard is with someone else or single at the time.

Secondwhile this picture is of heavy armor, it's modded armor for the PC version and cannot be worn by anyone without them. Ashley doesn't get heavy armor until her armor power is leveled up and starts out with the slimmer medium armor as her default. She could ahve switched back to medium armor (which is only bulky on Maleshep since he's build like a Greek god regardless of his class) and all female armors in Mass effect 1 & 2 are slimmer than their male counterparts due to phisological differences.

Sex appeal is not a bad thing and is different to certain people. and it's not like she's in a Bikini. She's folly covered and even her casual outfits has armor plates on the shoulders and knees plus I don't doubt her suit is made of resistant fabrics since she could be thrust into combat without the chance to armor up like sheaprd is in the beginning of ME3 with his T-sher that has kinetic barriers. Remember that everyone Shep fights in a T-Shirt showing off his chisled torso, arms and legs and femshep will most likely be showing off the same in that level going "Chill the F out I got this!"Image IPB

The picture has absolutely nothing to do with any of my arguments. I just needed a top pick, and grabbed it from google.

There are varying degrees of apperance she chose a different on rom the look she ahd 3 years ago, so sue her.Image IPB

EDIT: also she might NOT have known it. sure she could ahve some swagger on missions but in her love scene she even says she's never felt good enoughf or the things she's been fighting for. That is a clear sign thtat she didn't not in fact know it. Jsut saying.

It's not because he doesn't like them. It's because they look utterly ridiculous. Grunt isn't my  favourite character but I took him on far more missions than Mordin (did I ever use him?) Because A. Mordin isn't a soldier B. Grunt wears armour and C. Concussive shot. Personally I draw the line at missions where "breathers" are worn. I never want to see Miranda in her anesthetic cup.

You're my new favorite person! lol

I echo this sentiment on all accounts. Especially the first part... there was nothing wrong with the way she looked and she was definitely attractive.

I don't think it's b/c her writer left b/c I think someone like Weekes could definitely take her over and do a great job, but it's the whole Mac wanting to cater to his characters like Garrus, fan-service, and yes... the AWESOME BUTTON.

Hey when the galaxy isn't being threatened by god machines she can dress how she wants. Until then act like asoldier! No armor, stay off my team unless you have a legitimate reason.

Shields are not the be all defense people think they are.

I find humor or light-hearted comments can start some of the biggest debates.

I took the dressing up to get Shep back as a joke. Plain and simple.

Indeed we do. Its either rant angrily on the internet to distract me from finals, or actually do my paper.
