So this is from the new Bioware pulse episode

Based on the outfit, it is Ashley between Sheploo and Vega, though her headgear looks rather curious.

The thing that got my attention though is that it possibly answers one of my biggest questions.
She has the AR in her hands and the SR on her back, but no boomstick!
That's it - I am going to cancel my pre-order now! lol. No, just kidding! Oh, well, we can't have everything.
Still a little sad though. Going to take a minute of silence for the boomstick!

Poor Ash, she looks like she got called to action, while in the shower, and forgot to take off her cap.
Or....someone dropped some purple goo on her head. Image IPB

BTW, elektrego, your new avatar is tripping me out. It looks like Liara is giving your posts a quick lookover.  Image IPB

Heard Badpie did this one.

Tender moments. Rare. Precious. Love is brightest in the darkness, and these are the darkest days of mankind, of the entire galaxy. We're fighting a lost war. We're fighting not for victory, but for survival. Billions are dead. Billions will die before this ends. Trillions will die if we fail. I can see him breaking. Can see him aging. Every passing day carves deeply into his face. Shepard is dying. All I can do is to give him enough strength to go on. By tender moments.

addendum: I think it is funny that people praise ashley for having her own opinion and mind, but as soon as that opinion doesn't go along with their wishes anymore and there is a chance, she might become antagonistic to their awesome Shepard heroes, it automatically is "bad writing!"

B/c it's totally against something Ashley would do (from what we know and have seen of her).

That's the reason.

Problem is, more often than not, the characters are going to act the part they look.

How fortunate that this wouldn't require it anymore than Horizon would.

For me ... Ash is Alliance first, not Shepard first. So if she felt that Shepard was going the way of Saren or becoming Cerberus then I could see her becoming antagonistic. Whatever happens in ME3 I don't want them to make her follow Shepard blindly. I want her to hold him to the fire first ... but as I said ... that is just me.

and yet Miranda did not act like some omega **** ince people thought that's what she dressed like. Miranda's original outfit was in character because she could use her feminine wiles on covert and undercover missions. She's also incredible compitent in combat and an incredible leader. So I think she's allowed to look sexy since she's, you know, Mrianda "badass" Lawson.

Ashley gets the same allowances since Madeline is Latin for badass.Image IPB

A happy reunion is not even the point.

I can't really talk about his here since it's massive spoilers. She's not Shepard first, but after all the things she has seen and helped Shepard do... she would definitely be Shepard over shadier elements.

LOL. Miranda is apparently a profesional, so shouldn't she dress that way during... Oh I don't know, missions that would actually use her "looks" for the mission? Otherwise I see NO point in her dressing like that on say, the reaper vessel, or the junk planet where you recruit grunt.

Also for an incredible leader she does everything she can to destabilize the crew, but thats a different topic.

But you forget she's brilliant. You think her suit is just some halloween constume, that's an LOL right there. she doesn't survive by being stupid. Same with Kasumi...and Thane....and Samara (who's nealry 1000 btw so I think she knows what she's doing and even explains that her outfit is an open challenge)...Right there is a list of highly capable combatants who survive and are incredibly LETHAL without hard suits. While she' may be snarky about the, the freaking Asar commandoes have super light armor and they're the most FEARED warriors in the galaxy, even the Krogans fear them.

I'm with Elektrego that Character design does not equal characterization. Looks can be deceiving as as the saying goes.Image IPB

The only reason those squadmates you list survive without hardsuits is because bioware didn't bother to give them anything other than their current outfits. (Which by the way, kasumi and thane are the only ones justified there, with jack only partially justified. Kasumi has cloak, thane can't wear anything over his chest or he will die)

For some damn reason people can survive in vacumes, poison, corosive acide and god knows what else with bare skin. Its a damn break of immersion.

Also bioware is all about design equaling characterization! That is their forte! From the olden days of baldurs gate, jade empire, to dragon age (morrigan, who also pulled the looks as a tool function better than miranda) and mass effect (mostly with aliens) Bioware has designed characters and races via design! Its what they do!

The problem here is in fact that bioware went too far with design over characterization unlike their usual mix.

maybe so...

but a lot of the other characters act the part they look.

Wrex, Zaeed, Garrus, Ashley, Tali, Mordin, Thane.

The desigin of the character is undeniably connected to how the designers/writers/etc wanted them to be portrayed.

Theyw ere NEVER in the vacuum of Space. They were INSIDE the collectos ship. If theyw ere all in the vacuum even the inorganic collectors would ahv ebeen ripped aprt since they don't have armor, but they weren't becasuse they were inside of the ship.

Immersion is different for people as mine was never broken through the course of Any of the ME games. So you're being discriminatory with squadmates as some can get away with "no hardsuits" while other's get benched for the same material.  So this is about you, not the characters then, that's great to know since the characters you've benched and are compaining about are still as skilled if not more then the character you give free passes too. Also sine this is base don personal preference and not reason Is ee no reason to discuss this with you fiuther since I can do nothing to change the preferences you cling to.Image IPB

Well Miranda is protrayed as the best and, oh hey look her pwoers work on insanity at all times, She's the perfect fire team leader as she gets everyone through alive and she survives throught eh majority of the suicide mission as she an only die if unloyal and being taken to the Reaper fight. looks like the best, acts liek the best, performs like the best, Check.

Samara is nearly a millenia old (old enough to know some of the mmost famous historical figures in human history) and can pull a CAR out of the sky. Looks sexy, is a badass, and can save your ass by surrounding the squad in a biotic buble to be protected from seeker swams. Alos is one of two characters with the ability to say no to commander Shepard's romantic advances no easy feat. Looks like the best, acts like the best, performs like the best. Check

I'd go on about other characters but I don't want to derail my own thread. Point is as long as ashley is still the Lethal soldier I need her to be she can go into battle looking like this for all I care:

Hey!  I drew that!!!

Actually, that was an early, unfinished version of this drawing, that I shared *only* with the Ashley Support thread at the time, but it got passed around, as things on the internet will.

I need to draw more Ash soon.  I'd really like a good look at her new combat armor, it's about time for me to try my hand at drawing her with clothes on...

They're usually white.

I think she stole Tali's face mask, laughing manically and twirling a taped on handlebar moustache as she ran off with it.

Poor Tali :?
