Did you see what the Kaidan fans got? That is soooooo awesome that raphael would read the horizon letter with that kind of emotion. I'm like sooo making my femshep bang kaidan in me3. The VS gets so much hate man, but I swear they're both great characters. I want to keep both.

First thought when I heard that was:
"Man that's great... why wasn't it in the actual game?"

Second thought was:
"If Kaidan's voice actor is doing this and Bioware writers are advertising that fact proudly on twitter, it's a sign that they are in fact trying to give some fan service to the VS."

Third thought:
"I wonder how Ashley would sound if she read hers aloud?"

as in - Sbarge did it of his own volition, to do something nice for his fans, something his fans actualy asked him about a while ago, back when he just started doing his audioblogs.  Bioware just jumped on a band wagon, just like they do with particularely good fan art.  but otherwise - they had nothing to do directly, with this recording happening.

I know, I wasn't implying that Bioware actually had something to do with it. I was just noting that it was kind of cool that they advertised the fact that Sbarge did it on Twitter. I just try to keep hopeful that this is some sign that Bioware is at least aware of the VS fanbase, that's all.

@AllianceN7Marine that's totally awesome, I love Ash memorabilia, or whatever you call it.

And I just found out that the names of Ashley's sisters are all from famous works of literature.  I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I have been reading a lot lately, so yeah.

Abigail Williams is the main antagonist of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, a play he wrote about the Salem witch trials in the 1600's.  Abigail was the ringleader of the group of girls declaring people of witchcraft, and the former lover of the protagonist, John Proctor.

Sarah Williams is a name mentioned in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  At one point, young Huck wants to know what has been going on in his hometown after faking his own death and staying on a nearby island for several days.  So he, in his youth, dresses up like a girl and says his name in Sarah Williams to get information from a woman living by the river.  Of course he is not believed, but the woman lets him go.

I can't remember if I heard Lynn Williams or not, but I thought that would be an interesting tidbit for everyone.  Have a happy thanksgiving

Just wanna let Kimberly know there are Ashley fans and her character recieves a lot of love.
And she simply should know that a lot of guys believe Ash is the most authentic character in the game - and Kimberly did a great deal that Ashley became Ashley. :happy:

That's a great idea and I agree with that it should be an Asari reporter, it'd be more interesting I think

oh I agree, Ash is one of the most authentic characters in a game and Kimberly did a fantastic job with her.  I just mean that bioware doesn't really deserve thecredit for Kaidan's letter coming to life.  and its not just guys who like Ashley you know   Us gals apreciate her too, as a sister at arms, friend..etc.

@ CrutchCricket -- I really doubt there will be any opportunity to do any major changes to ME3 at this point. The best we could probably get is "bring back Ashley's strong eyebrows." Depending how the game is set up, I suppose it MAY be possible for Bioware to "plug in" character specific DLCs like LotSB.

Kinda difficult to realize, but sure, why not. I'll give you my top 5 and also will post them here ... what I'm doing right now


1. Death decisions. If there are any regarding the VS (in this case Ashley), I'd like to have options to avoid death decisions. Like in case for Wrex on Virmire: you can avoid his death by convincing him (morality decisions) or by doing his "family armor" assignment. In ME2 you can avoid deaths by doing loyalty missions and picking the perfect specialist for a given situation.
I like to see something like this in ME3 - especially for Ashley, but also for any other characters.

2. Romantic arc. Lets say I simply want a fulfilling romantic experience with Ashley. In my eyes romances are a bit too straight forward in ME and even more so in ME2. I'd like to see more complicated stuff and multiple ways to the same outcome - more than just "paragon" / "renegade" options. Finally I'd like to see how all of that stuff works - one path could lead to a real happy end including proposal, another end won't have that because Ashley doesn't feel ready etc etc. Also the way how Shepard act should have an influence - a paragon Shepard should give Ashley another reaction than a renegade Shepard.

3. Keep Ashley in character. And that doesn't mean she has to do two full character twists or something like Liara (Scientist --> Shadowbroker ?!) to make her more awesome - Ashley -IS- awesome enough.

4. If I have to sacrifice Ashley at some point to make something important happen, then make it worth it. Nothing hurts more than wasting a beloved character in a scene than doesn't make any real difference in the long run - Virmire anyone?

5. Give Ashley some love. 'nuff said.
