Shepard: I'm hungry.
Ashley: Nice for you.
Shepard: Yes, but that means someone needs to get me a sandwich.
Ashley: Guess that someone will be you.
Shepard: Do you mind to get me one?
Ashley: Make me.
Shepard: Ash, ... you know, my back ...
Ashley: *sigh* I miss the times when you came home with three new holes in your armor and said "I'm back, Honey, just had a little talk with our new batarian neighbors ..."
Shepard: Yeah ...
Ashley: Hmmm ...
Shepard: ... and what about my sandwich?
Ashley: Go and make one by yourself.
Shepard: *sigh* Remember the good ol' times when you made me a sandwich?
Ashley: No. And not like you, I'm not demented ... go and fetch yourself one.
Shepard: Okay, okay, I got it.
Ashley: *sigh* Sometimes I really miss the times when we were younger.
Shepard: Yes. Three times sex a week is not enough.
Ashley: That's not what I meant.
Shepard: Hmmm ... wait, I think I know what you're talking about.
Ashley: So?
Shepard: Yes. When I was younger, I wanted a sandwich.
Ashley: You wanted one five minutes ago ...
Shepard: ... and therefore, I was five minutes younger!
Ashley: *sigh*
Shepard: Okay, okay, I'll get my sandwich. Do you want one too?
Ashley: Just coffee. Hot. Tough. Uhh ... nevermind. Doc says I shouldn't. My heart ...
Shepard: Ah give a sh*t on what the doc says. I feel younger than ever. Know what - I'll pull some old strings, maybe we can get on board of our old ship.
Ashley: Are you kidding me? We're too old for that sh*t.
Shepard: Hey, you said you miss the good ol' times. When I get a sandwich on my own but ... don't care. I want my ship back.
Ashley: You're insane - but I like it. Why not?
Shepard: Great! Come on, get in your old armor ... I bet it still fits ...
Ashley: I bet it does. Gimme five ... make it fifteen, I'm not that fast anymore ...
Shepard: Take all time you need, Ash ...
Ashley: Oh captain, my captain!
Shepard: Skipper is back! Now make it happen!

Shepard: Hey Ash! I've got you a present!
Ashley: Really? An actual present? Or a book you borrowed from me like last time. And the time before that.
http://cloud.steampo...D5A3149FB113BD/
Shepard: An actual present. to be precise: a German Shephard!
http://cloud.steampo...6D7E318928668F/
Ashley: You're joking! That's amazing, I've always wanted a dog! Where is it?
Shepard: Follow me!
*On the main deck*
Ashley: I can't believe you actually got me a dog! Is it even allowed onboard?
Shepard: I allow it.
Ashley:So where is it?
http://cloud.steampo...A4D3E6B15A5754/
Shepard:*ahem* Hier bin ich, Ashley, dein Skipper.
http://cloud.steampo...DFA6AED4FE12B4/
Ashley: german...Shepard..I get it..
Shepard: What's the matter? It was just a little joke..
Ashley: ...
Shepard: Did my rusty German get you upset?
Ashley:...
Shepard: I'd better start running, shouldn't I?
Ashley: Oh yeah. You should go, before a certain hellcat uses her claws.
Shepard: *runs off*

For some reason, I can't imagine Shepard and Ashley dying as elders. Nah, the only way those two can die is in a 'Final stand' kind of battle. With waves upon waves of enemies that makes elysium look like a tea party.
Who said they'll come back from their "new mission"?
Dunno - I can imagine them as elders, but not as demented or something. That was just for the LULZ. I think they'll become older and with every year their dignity grows as well. And one day they'll pick the Normandy and say farewell to anyone and do their last trip to the edge of the galaxy ... their last mission.
Something like that. Sappy. But fitting.

Shepard:*ahem* Ich bin hier und ich bin deine Commander.
Shepard: *ahem* Hier bin ich, Ashley, dein Skipper.
Still not perfect, but can't get a better line (and that's my mother's tongue!!!)
Works a bit better. And "commander" is masculine in german "dein Commander", not "deine Commander"

@Aurora; Thanks! And yeah my Shepard knows a little bit of a few languages, but isn't really proficient in them. (except for english) Gaelic is quite an interesting language for your Shep to know, do you actually know Gaelic?

Well, I still think they're gonna die. No babies, no marriage, no old age, just glorious death. And I'd be okay with that, so long as they get a good few years with each other first. Oh, and Ashley gets armor.

Heya! Glad to have you back!
And yes, Ash is apparently getting a set of armor that resembles Shepard's. Which is what Casey said I believe.

HEhehe! Nice. Cute. I used to know a bit of german, but I forgot it all unfortunately. Can't help that school was boring as hell.
Forget school German. Do you think I got all the stuff I know now 'bout english in school? Okay, I mix up capital letters and so ... but don't care O.o
Either you like the language, then you'll learn it by doing, or you shouldn't even try.
Ashley: Hey Shepard, you know I can do some German as well.
Shepard: I bet you can. Didn't you say you speak french as well?
Ashley: No. French is hell. Spanish is easier.
Shepard: Guess so. Now, tell me something in German.
Ashley: "Ich hab dich lieb, Skipper." (I like you, Skipper)
Shepard: Very funny.
Ashley: Denkst du, das ist lustig? (You think that's funny)
Shepard: Yes!
Ashley: Ach, vergiss es einfach. (Ah, nevermind.)
Shepard: Okay. So no German lesson anymore?
Ashley: Nope. (Nope)
Shepard: Thank god. Whenever I hear German I have the urge to give a command.
Ashley: Then do it.
Shepard: Joker, setzen Sie einen Kurs auf die Citadel (Joker, set a course to Citadel)
Joker: What?
Shepard: Machen Sie's so! (Make it happen)
Joker: Awww man, stop that sh*t ... I don't understand! Comprendre?!
Ashley: Fail.
Shepard: Aber voll und ganz. (epic fail)
<_<
Seriously, thinking and typing in two languages at same time hurts my brain.

For my Shep, as an N7 and a guy who was always at the front line, he didn't think much about what happens after he's done being a soldier. I suppose he always hoped he'd make it to that point but he was realistic about the fact that he was in a very high risk career. Rising through the ranks and into the brass had never been his dream, but he knows he wouldn't be able to be a soldier forever either.
Ash I always saw as career soldier. She likes the fight, but as she would get older she would probably take a less high risk role in the Alliance.
If all goes as planned after ME3 and Shep and Ash can have their happy ending, I see them chilling out. Each would still want to be productive and important, but I see them wanting something more... average. I feel like ME3 will have helped them realize that some things are precious and there are simple pleasures in life that they will want to take advantage of.
This is not to say it will be an easy adjustment. Going from a life of full blown danger and excitement to one slightly less so will be hard, but also, I think, amusing for both of them. I think the peaceful life, with family and friends will suit them both.
As far as the one more glorious mission thing goes, that's great and all, but wouldn't it be kind of embarrassing to get taken out by a band of space pirates after defeating THE biggest threat to the galaxy? I mean there's no going up from that. Best to just retire. lol

Shepard: *jolts up.* Whoa, whoa whoa. Whats the matter Ash?
Ashley: I want a baby!
Shepard: Come again?
Ashley: I want a baby!
Shepard: Thought you were a career marine?
Ashley: I will not repeat myself again, skipper.
Shepard: *seriously contemplating ir.* Don't think I'm cut out to be a dad. *looks at Ash, she has miserable puppy-dog eye expression on her face* Ah - F*ck it. *pounces her.*
2 month later.
Ashley: Hey John?
Shepard: What's up? Something wrong with the kid?
Ashley: 'Kids'.
Shepard: ... wait, what?

Good night everyone - and check out "german talking Ash" few posts above. She fails. And I'm tired.
Have last Ash for today:

Ashley: I'll make sure you'll regret everything you said about my Skipper, punk!

This is what I have in mind too. Also I don't think they'd be up to a life of full blown danger physically. Atleast my Shepard won't be, he'd have aged quite a bit more then the average man by the time the war is over. He (they?)might be able to recover from that by a few years rest, but in those few years I think he'd/they'd notice the relaxed lifestyle isn't that bad. They might adjust to such a lifestyle be being forced into it for awhile.Badpie wrote...

As a side note for regulars: I just checked Elektrego's profile and sorry to say, I guess he won't be returning to the thread judging his last update. Thought I'd put that here that in case anyone that might want to know, didn't know.
