Oooooooooookay ... since Aurora is missing ...
Hackett told me to trust Shepard. But how? He's working for Cerberus, an organisation found to achieve human supremacy over the galaxy. I don't know what's more frightening: the thought they're humans like me, or the fact Shepard is working for them. However, Hackett trusts him. He sent Shepard on a mission in the Bahak system, to find evidence of the return of the Reapers. If Shepard is the one I used to know, he'll find the evidence. That should be enough to redeem himself for the Council, for the Alliance. But is that enough for me? Can I trust him once more?
Lt. Willard: Sir, we have something on our sensors. Unknown vessel. Size: approx 2 kilometers.
Cpt. Pendergast: On screen.
Lt. Willard: Aye, Sir. Ship on screen.
Cpt. Pendergast: My God ...
Cmdr. Zharkov: Sir?
Cpt. Pendergast: Send word to HQ ... we have a contact: the Reapers are here.
Cmdr. Zharkov: Aye, Sir.
Lt. Willard: Sir, the vessel is approaching our position. What is your order?
Cpt. Pendergast: Raise kinetic barriers. Set course to the Thorne System.
Lt. Willard: Aye aye, Captain.
Cmdr. Zharkov: Incoming enemy craft.
Cpt. Pendergast:Send them to hell - activate GARDIAN!
Cmdr. Zharkov:Understood. GARDIAN active.
Lt. Willard:Direct hit, barriers holding.
Cpt. Pendergast: We don't have much time here. How long until FTL drive is back online?
Cmrd. Zharkov: Engine room reports five minutes. Cool down still in progress.
Cpt. Pendergast: Damnit. Need to go out of here.
Lt. Willard: Another hit astern! Barriers still holding, down to thirty percent!
Cpt. Pendergast: Reroute power of weapon systems to the barriers.
Lt. Willard: Too late! Barriers down! Plotting evasive maneuvers - pattern Delta Four!
Cmdr. Zharkov: GARDIAN reports overheating. Too many targets, we can't take them out!
Lt. Willard: Sir, port engine offline! They got us! They got us!!
Cmdr. Zharkov: Damage report coming in ... hull breaches on most decks ... primary systems offline.
Lt. Willard: What shall we do, Captain?
Cpt. Pendergast: God ... abandon the ship ... we need to abandon the-
We lost the SSV Mount Everest two days ago. That's all what we've got - the last three minutes of a once mighty space ship. The Reapers are back. Bahak was not their only backdoor. I know we need to prepare for that invasion - but is there still time left? Even Anderson doesn't know how close they are. But Shepard does. I do. If we want to win this war, I need to trust him again. But first, there's one thing I need to know. One question that's still keeping me awake in the night, and bothers me at day. Did Shepard love me? And does he now? I wish I would know, and at the same time I fear the answer.
There's another thing I need to do first. The Council wants to see me. I have no idea what's going on. Anderson doesn't tell me anything, Hackett had no idea ...[/]
Asari Council member: Two years ago, the first member of your race became a Spectre. Today we're here to invite another human to the ranks of the SPECTREs. Shepard of Terra died in the course of his duty two years ago. The Council came to the conclusion to invite a new member of the human race to the SPECTREs to fill Shepard's place. Councilman Anderson?
Councilman Anderson: We were looking for someone we can trust. Someone defined by determination, by bravery and passion. Someone who knew the Commander, and someone who can take his place. Lieutenant Commander Williams - step up.
Salarian Council member: Today we're introducing you to the SPECTREs, Ashley Williams of Terra. As the second human Spectre you will take Shepard's place to face the Reaper threat. You will continue what Shepard began, and will succeed where he failed.
Turian Council member: Shepards actions will not be forgotten. You were choosen to honor Shepard, not to replace him in our memories. Being a Spectre will need more than bravery and determination. And you'll need everything to succeed in this difficult task. The entire galaxy's hope is lying on your shoulders, Spectre Williams.[/b]
Councilman Anderson: Good luck, Ashley Williams. The Council and the Alliance is counting on you.
[i]Now I know how Shepard felt when they made him to a Spectre. It is a exciting and frighting thought. Am I ready for this burden? I don't think so. I don't even know where to start. I don't have a ship, no crew. All I have is a new title, everyone is expecting me to save the galaxy.
My Lord, bless my strength and teach my arm for fight, guide me through the darkness of war and spare those who are close to me. Amen.
