I second that. She made it, she's as awesome as Shepard. From the "ordinary ground soldier" to the "second human Spectre" Ash had to went down a long road. And finally it pays.

I'm going to have her in my squad as often as possible.

Also if shepard refuses reinstatement, She's the ONLY human Spectre.

Indeed. Maybe s/he gets reinstated in ME3 regardless of the decision in ME2. I think it's a sad thing the Spectre status didn't mean much in ME2, maybe it'll do so in ME3.

Seeing as how the galaxy is burning right from the beginning, I doubt the council title will mean anything.

Whoa it does mean something and gets mentioned several times, the quarian and volus conflict, the shop keepers mention your status, Hell Thane's quest has aspecific dialogue during the interrogaion if you are or aren't a Spectre. It means something, which is why I'm glad Ashley has it.

Lemme point it this way: in ME1 Shepard's SPECTRE status meant a lot. It gave you freedom and kinda legitimation doing things you wouldn't do under normal circumstances. Also it opened doors you never could go through without being a SPECTRE (Noveria).

In ME2 it was far less important. Got used sometimes, but not that often and was not required for the main story. Yes you're right about the Quarian & Volus problem and Thane's LM. But overall it wasn't that present in ME2 than it was in ME1 - there it was mandatory.


I wonder if Ashley is meant as successor of Shepard or not. I really wonder since both interpretations work: if Shepard was NOT reinstated, then it's true. If Shepard was reinstated, then it still could be true if the Council made her to a SPECTRE when Shepard went back to Earth for the trial.

In 2 Shepard was given a toekn gesture by gaining the status back because he was opperating out in the lawless terminus systems, where council authourity isn't recognised. The 'Spectre' this was purely a token gesture of 'good faith'.

And abot Ash, I think that they either finally recognised her skill (lets face it, she's a badass) and contributions to hunting down Saren. That, or the council believed she would be 'easier' to control than Shepard was/is. Granted Shepard's running around trying to save their asses.

True - the title doesn't mean anything in the Terminus Systems. However, all those thugs KNOW that a Spectre is a dangerous person one shouldn't p*ss off.
Also his reinstatement was intended as "cosmetic" - but still got recongnized in Citadel space. Therefore I assume Shepard got his status back, although he was not allowed to offensively use it in Citadel space as long as his loyalty was unclear - Cerberus.

I don't think the Council believes Ash is easier to control, no way. Ash is extremely loyal towards the Alliance, but is a bit reserved towards the Council. I think it's more about the part she did in hunting down Saren. She'll do her own thing if needed, and she'll do it FIRST for the Alliance, THEN for the Council. Lets say, Shepard is loyal towards both, but Ashley will abandon the Council as soon as they're no longer supporting human interests.

I remember the first time that Shepard and I made love before Ilos three years ago - There was this tattoo on his back, a huge one that spanned across both his shoulder-blades. An angel with it's wings spread out, craddling a name to it's chest. 'Verity, My love.' it said. I knew right then and there, that I would never be the first in his heart. I'm just a stand in. Something to help plug a hole left behind by another woman. Maybe he realy had loved me, but he loved her first.

I accidentally walked in on him when he was just out of the shower, shirtless with a towel drapped over his shoulders. I made a conscious effort not to look at anywhere but his head. I was still unsure about my feelings towards him, I didn't need to see that finely sculpted muscle under the criss-cross of light coloured scars to distract me. I gave my report quickly, trying not to sound to flustered and he brushed it off with a nod and cheerful 'Thanks'. The tattoo was gone, I know that he was burnt in an atmosphere, but he replaced the celtic knot on the back of his neck and the string of words down his left fore-arm but not that Angel one.

A comment escaped before I could stop it. He turned to me with a stern look.

'Before I met you, I spent eight years trying to escape her memory. Having her name stamped on my back doesn't help that fact. And that was another time and literally another life.' He shrugged, 'I can't change the past, and there's not point pying over it, especially when the future is staring me straight in the face.' I couldn't help but smile and chuckle at his answer.

My Shepard never had something so serious like yours, but has his past with women too. However, Ashley is the first "special" woman to him. Maybe because they're comrades, friends and lovers, and all at the same time.
