........i will reserve final judgment until i play the game.i will however say that i did in fact pre-order the CE for ash's alt outfit......and i must say as of now;if this truly turns out to be her alt in the finshed product,i am dissapointed Posted Image

thought bioware would be more creative than this for the final epic installment.

its to bright.i think their going for phenoix armor color scheme and the mini skirt and thigh high boots look.

it appears their trying to mix ash's two iconic looks togther.

It's a re-color of what we saw in E3.

holy sh*t,your right.didnt even notice it................now im definatley dissapointed.

thats just lazy man,LAZY.

EDIT: is this her confimed alt? i kindve skimmed that past 5 pages to catch up.

i don't think Lieutenants get put on the front lines. Lieutenants serve on ships as Kaidan did on the Normandy going on small ops, not holding lines with NCO's planet side as Ashley did as a Gunnery Chief. People are forgetting she's an officer and a Spectre, she's no longer a blacklisted Gunnery Chief that's never served in space.Posted Image

But then Shep and Kaidan both should be in lighter armor than Ash's. Just because she has been promoted doesn't mean she has changed her belief.

Kaidan and an Adept, Engineer, and a leveled down vanguard and inflitrator ALL wear light Armor and are pretty damn Lethal in combat Her opinion could be swayed by seeing how lethal they were and go "Hmm, light armor might not be that bad after all.." She's not static and unchanging.

But she is a soldier not an vangaurd, infiltrator, or anything else. And I realize she is not static character but you are suggesting that she has changed from the badass marine with a boomstick to a stealthy Spectre with a knife. I just can not see Ash's character changing her beliefs on this subject.

Why not? Whne we pick her up she's onyl been gorundside on Alliance colonies, afterwards she's seen a lot of the galaxy and has probably seen it all in the 2 year time skip. Seeing more in life can change you for the better and change your views on things.

Her outfit is alright, but I think you guys should start asking for more "sexy heavy armor". Like this, except Heavy.

Err. No. I don't want anything like that either. I want something like Kaidan's armor, for Miss Williams.

You are talikng about a view that is shared throughout her whole family. Her father, grandfather, and great-grandmother all dawned the armor and swore the oath. I can't see a few years erase beliefs that she was willing to die for in ME1. A Williams is an Alliance marine on the front lines of a war and I can't see her changing that.

Chris Priestly said that these are CONCEPT images of what the CE outfits might be...the images were sent to retailers, but weren't released here on the site because they're not finalized.

I'm not going to complain until the game is done, and I know for sure what Ashley will be wearing.  But if the devs want feedback, I'll certainly tell them that I would prefer to see Ashley in heavy armor in combat situations.

Her class is Soldier, despite what her rank may be.  If she's anything like the character we met in ME1, medium and heavy armor would fit her combat style much more than high heels, thigh high boots, and a skirt.  I'd be much more impressed if we were shown Ashley wearing Systems Alliance dress uniform, like what Anderson wears, because at least then, it would be somewhat realistic.  This is just...not what I would picture Ashley *wanting* to wear.

@Tele: yeah her greatgrandma didn't have contact with Aliens, her grandfather was a racist, her dad had a lower rank than sh did in ME1. She's the only williams that's had positive contact with Aliens so who's to say she isn't tking wisdom from an alien culture to better herself after seeing how an alliance and turian ship destroyed a reaper? If she's doing as Shepard did and embracd the Alliance's allies and took combat Tips to be a better soldier that's Outstanding character growth frmo her not trusting Wrex and Garrus to roam the ship freely because they were Aliens and could possibly be spies.

You can Imagine their first conversation.

Shepard: Why are you wearing that...?

Ashley: You're complaining?

Shepard: No! not at all. Just. Wow. I thought you said I'd have to buy you dinner first?

Ashley: Look. If you want me to shoot you skipper.. just ask.

Shepard: I'm just wondering, that's all. I thought you said you wouldn't wear something like...that. For combat reasons.

Ashley: You think I can't fight in this, don't you?

Shepard: I know you can fight Ash, but I dont think you can fight as good in...that...outfit.

Ashley: Ugh....Skipper, you're drooling.

Shepard: Damn. This is going to be distracting.

Seriously whoever designs characters for bioware need to actually play their own freaking game.

Talk about missing what makes a character completely, to redesign Ash to anyway shape or form be more Miranda like is the most stupid facepalm moment ever.

I would like to say this is a fanservice thing, that a redesign of the outfit was done to give something back to us the fans of the character, but even that only shows that not only do they not know the character but they have absolutely no idea at all about the fans either.

Hint. Most Ash fans did not like Miranda, not her look or her attitude, redesigning Ash to be more Miranda like may not sit well with Ash fan's.

It's not brain surgery, its not over complicated, its actually pretty damn easy, Ash is the Anti Miranda, everything she stands for is practically in direct opposition to what Miranda stands for, by making her more Miranda like your in serious danger of annoying even more fans (of both characters).

The scary thing is that i doubt Bioware listen or know how badly they are screwing this up and i fear if this is how they've handled Ash's character (lookswise since we don't know how much her personality may change also *shudders*) can you imagine how badly they may have handled Jack's redesign?

im not sure bioware is trying to turn her into miranda.but i really cant say i know whats going through their mind with her redesign either. the skin tight mini dress/mini skirt and thigh high boots is just not combat worthy at all.

if they want to give her something like that, her alt look needs to be armor plain and simple.

I can only speak for myself, but I really liked Miranda once I got to know her.... And having Ash be the exact opposite of her is besides the point... They're completely different people and Bioware knows this.  If they decide to change her personality I will probably break the disk in half and definitely be so dissappointed.  But if that's what they do, they'll be aware of who they're pissing off, and who they're servicing.

First off she never said anything about them being spies. She was weary that the turians and krogans won't always be allies and at some point they can use the designs from the Normandy and operations techniques against the Alliance. Much like view almost every American had during WWII with the alliance with the Soviet Union. I for one in real life would share that view.

Second, I can see Ash be less weary of allies from her experiences but I can't see her not be a Williams with armor and a boomstick.

ohhhh for the love of....

THIS is what the alternate is going to be? Talk about a slap to the face. This is NOT Ashley... this is... (quoting Silver here) "malibu boomstick barbie" .... just... ridiculous.

Character development is all fine and good.. but going from someone who would NEVER wear a catsuit to wearing thigh high boots, garters, and skirts... INTO BATTLE... is not what I call good character development. Hell, I don't even call the character development... I call it downgrading the character to appeal to horny 12 year boys who jack off while they are playing their games.

They need to stop worrying about that "fan base" and actually give us, the ACTUAL Ashley fans, the real Ash for the final installment. We are the ones that care about the character past "omg... she's so hot... *drool*" ... and we are the ones that are going to be upset over drastic character changes. Those people who only want the hotness... they won't care.

I hope to god this stupid BS isn't final.... we need to let the devs know over and over that this type of thing is NOT what we want for ME3!! Otherwise... we're getting sexpot Ash.

@Reed: As of now it is still concept art. (Thank God) I really hope the developers are reading what some of these responses to their ideas. Mostly I hope this isn't a preview to the "development/growth" in Ash's character.

I wouldn't mind it as an on ship outfit. On missions, though, she should wear real armor (as should other squad membes). I hated the ME2 approach of using the same outfit both on and off ship. This outfit doesn't even protect her chest. How is that combat appropriate?

i agree on the ship is more practical for mini dress/mini skirts not for fighting mile long reapers and heavy cerberus commandos.

You could swap them out at your private terminal. I always kept Miranda in her jacket. Made her look less like "wh*re." (I still laugh at that in-game comment.)

Neither of Miranda's outifts that came with the game seem combat appropriate. Perhaps the alt. outfit pack is different, but I don't feel like shelling out money just to be able to play dress up.

Also, I should't have to switch the d*mn outfit before and after every mission. It should be a given that my squadmembers, as adults, know when to put on and remove their combat armor without being told.

Bioware can easily solve this give her the catsuit as casual attire and give her some medium armor for combat.

This alt. outfit makes me 99.99% sure her main armor is the blue catsuit in the trailers
