Well after succumbing to temptation and watching the leaked beta intro - which I am so glad I did, took the edge off and now look forward to seeing how the final version is different - I am now thinking about trying to write some fan fiction. I'm not as good with the romance stuff but I'm pretty good with the technical aspects (being a former engineer). Anyone have anything in mind they'd like to see? Haven't developed a plot line yet, but I know I want it to happen after the suicide mission, post-LotSB and obviously before ME3. I'd like it to be post-Arrival - but as Badpie says, after the events of that Shepard is likely a fugitive on the run which I don't want to have to deal with.

Great guys. Seriously. I missed the entire debate about Ashley's new uniform. I'm not happy ...
Okay, my 2 cents to the stuff I missed:
1. Sexuality. Hows that ppl don't read my posting or understand it the way I posted it? I said with every new Shepard you're creating also a new universe. In the universe with a "Michael Shepard", Kaidan is straight and Ashley loves Shepard. In the universe with "William Shepard", Kaidan is gay and loves Shepard, Ashley is straight. In an universe with "Jolene Shepard", Ash is straight, Kaidan loves Shepard. And in the universe with "Debby Shepard", Ash is lesbian ...
I don't think that will damage their characters in any way ...
2. Ashley got sexed up? Okay, that's old news.
Did Ash needed that? Definitely - no. She was sexy as tough marine. I love her appearance in ME1 and ME2. Did ANY woman look that good in armor? I doubt so ^^
Her new outfit tries to make her more sexy. Okay. But why in heaven did they also reduce Ashley's hispanic trait? At least it appears so. Now, I must say the thing that gave me the idea to talk to her (and allow to become an Ash fan) was her face. I simply liked her hispanic heritage, it made her unique and very beautiful.
Current Ash, finished or not, seem to lack that trait which means Ash lost something.
3. Okay, back to her uniform. I'm okay with it - they just need to tweak it a bit and need to get rid of those ridiculous white pants. I pre-ordered the CE of ME3, so I won't use her blue uniform but will go after the red variant - it looks better and fits more to Ashley.
The alternate concept arts are nice to look at and I wish I could pick one of them: dark, elegant, perfect diplomatic outfit, perfect off duty outfit. The "boob window" is something I don't mind, but doesn't need to be here. And: not every woman enjoys to be an eye catcher. Ashley is confident with her body, but she don't want to get looks all time, especially not when in duty.
Okay. That's my catch up post.

Hmm, na, I think those white pants are ... odd.
The rest is good so far.
Okay, since we have her current outfit and two alternate versions of her outfit here:

I was thinking more Korra and Mako of the new series (Korra = female water bender + Next Avatar. Mako = Firebending Zuko-like person minus the heavy angst.)
But I meant with Shepard and Ashley being benders, not taking the roles of pre-existing characters.

I hadn't a chance of watching the new show. All I know about it that's the next cycle. Dunno if they're going to deal with the Airbender-issue - I think they'll do in some way.
So I can talk only about the original Avatar characters.
Shepard appears to be Book 3 Zuko in more than one way.
Ashley is Katara, no doubt. She shares so many traits. Not only she's a tough woman but also an extremely passionate person that cares for her family. Okay, Ash lacks a brother like Sokka and can't bend, but besides that, she's pretty much Katara.
Anderson could be seen as Iroh, mostly because of his mentor role. Besides that, they don't have much common. However, whenever I am talking about Anderson I can see him drinking tea and being a calm person. Dunno why. Fits to him.
If you really look for a "Sokka-like" character, I can't name you one. There's no goofy dude that suddenly appears to be a capable leader and strategist. Garrus fits that role in some way, but ... no, not really.
Miranda is Azula. A "good" Azula, but still an Azula.
Besides that, I have no ideas. The characters of ME series are far too different from Avatar ... which is a good thing. I hate it when characters are too similar. If they're filling the same roles then you can call it "plagiarism".

Heres a question for you all:
What would Ashley's favourite film be and Why?
No one? Ok I think one of these would be good contenders:
[] Aliens - Marines with Guns, Grenades, Flamefolwers. just when the Aliens think they've won Here comes a nuclear blast.
[] Topgun - Maverick might be a little lose with the rules but Ashley's knows what it's like to be blacklisted because of previous families military records

I'd say Princess Bride, or a disney movie. She does like sensitive stuff so I'd think Disney would be there.
