Has anybody twitted Casey with the photoshoped Ash's armor?

No. But somebody better hop on that. He needs to know we want boots and armor for Ash in ME3!

Question Time.
IF Ashely does wear the outfits We've seen in the picture, but they're standard issue, will you have a problem with it?

I've decided that even if Ashley is stuck with the outfits, I won't care. They aren't SO bad that it would detract from my enjoyment, given Bioware's track record it could have been a lot worse.
Basically, Ashley, baby, I still love you. No matter how much they glam you up, you're still my girl.

I might be a little dissapointed, but at the end of the day it won't reduce me to tears of heartbreak and fury that ultimatley leads me to hunting down all the Bioware artists with a knife and garrot wire. I'd much rather Ashley in her current form then no Ashley at all.

I've watched SO much stuff I love in games get taken away from me one way or another. This time I'm going to do my best to keep a happy and positive face on about this whole situation, better to have it slightly compromised then to not have it at all.

No matter what the change, Ash is worth it.

Thank you.

I hope he does answer with a pic of her armor that they have come up with that isn't a character breaking catsuit.

Yes, I know. But I can dream, can't I? Posted Image

Another problem is - both times L'Etoile was involved with Ashley (ME1 and ME2) she wored decent armor, the moment he jumps off the boat we get pinup Ashley.
What does that bode for her personality?

I quite like her new look. But i also like the photoshopped armor too.

Personally though i do hope we have options of light, medium and heavy armor looks for our companions.

I know. And it scares the hell out of me.

I loved the way Ash was in ME1 and if these catsuits are any indications then I am afraid for the character change.

Not really but it's unbecoming Ash's character.

She herself said that she would never wear those kinds of outfits.

Perhaps that is going to be ME3s prologue.

I would totally approve of that but what about the other LI's?

I'm just going to throw this out there, but what about her alternate? ME2 gave a majority of characters 3 costumes. Normal, loyal, and DLC. So far we've seen Normal and DLC armor for Ash, so it wouldn't be out of the window for her to have an alternate with armor. Either way, I'll still remain a die-hard Ash fan, cat-suit or not.

Yes, she wore armor in ME2. She wore her Phoenix armor from ME1.

Probably the smartest post I've  read on the matter.

Everyone saying that "this just isn't Ash" hasn't played the game, even though they like to think they have.

Everyone saying "this is a catsuit" is just wrong. It's heavier than Miranda's suit. On top of that, She's a Spectre. Armor is probably only practical for Spectres, who have more than enough skill to survive without it. Hell, if she's sacrificing steel plating for mobility, then its not far from the ideals of modern combat gear.

Everyone saying "I won't buy Bioware's games if the characters are sexed up" aren't considering the power of sex in marketing, and aren't true BW fans if it takes the outfit of an NPC to turn them off of a purchase.

I was simply trying to fight all this gloom and doom with a little humor, my bad. :(

And just because I said, I prefer something, once, doesn't mean I can't be convinced that something else gets the job done equally good or better. We don't know what kind of technology is in those armor suits, that might make her prefer them. Useful armor tries to find a balance between mobility and protection.
And Ash's outfit is not really a catsuit, there is still a difference.
The only problem I have myself are the heels.
And this statement doesn't mean, that I don't want a heavier alternative to what we have seen. I would want both.

Yeah I don't get the whole "this isn't Ashley" argument for a few reasons:

1) Character development. We don't know anything about Ashley for the last, what...three years now? (sadness)

2) It still looks functional to me. It's not a blatant catsuit. Not to mention who decided that "Ash would never wear that"? Sure, not when she's a full on marine - but off duty she can look however she wants.

3) This looks good WITHOUT making her look "sexed up." Taking your hair down and wearing a shirt and pants that fully cover your skin isn't "sexing it up" unless your Amish.

I am sorry. It is my bad. I didn't see the humor in your post.

Looking at it from another angle is indeed funny. Posted Image

I just got so worked up about the whole thing. It isn't just BW. It is everywhere. Women get objectified into sex objects.

I don't want that fate for Ashley.

@Tele that's my point maybe she IS a commando now. Miranda was a special agent for Cerberus, led cells and sleath ops. For other charcters, Kasumi is a theif so she needed a "catsuit", Samara is a justicar and Asari fashion is above our heads, and Jhack is...well jack. It goes to my pouint that Ashley could be stealth ops now that she's a spectre and NEEDS outfits like that to work. Reapers are ships, not infantry a point Ashley also made in ME1 so armor isn't necessary to fight in ship to ship combat.

I don't think Ash will suffer the fate of "sexual objectification." Honestly I don't think Bioware is really guilty of that with any of their characters. They've made male and female characters to be sexually appealing to men and women gamers. There's no crime in that.

Even Liara, who fills the "blue alien babe" role and Miranda who fills the "femme fatale" role are both strong characters who I think got a lot of respect from the developers and fans alike. Bioware does strong female characters well. It's okay that these characters are also sexy.

I agree completely with badpie this isn't sexing it up she's covered and it has armor plating on it.

It seems that we tend to disagree on that.

I think that Ash has been oversexualized.

Miranda was the worst. Just look at all those butt, bust and body shots that were in ME2. Sometimes entire conversation were dominated with the camera staring at her ass and sometimes even Shepard obviously looking at it and her bust.

It did ruin the game for me and that character. I couldn't take Miranda serious after those first butt shots anymore.

And I don't want that happening to Ashley but I can see that happening now because of those outfits.
