Well it's been shown your squadmates do get acknowledged in the game so I'm guessing there's banter between lthem like in Dragon age. That's a step up!

Top Ash.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. I was just at a wrestling event. and while it is coereographed, then men and women that do have to be in incredible shape. I doubt you'd find any regular athelete that would be willing to be slammed ona  ladder, or fall off one and have a wooden table there to break their fall. Now that I think about it I can picture ashley going to a show on shore leave, wearing the T short of her favorite wrestler and having a sign and maybe a belt with her too.Image IPB

Good to hear you had fun ^^
We Europs don't have Wrestling and it's not really considered as a sport. Think only Basketball starts to find its friends here, especially in Germany (Dirk Nowitzky). Baseball? Meh. American Football? Nah. Wrestling? Ohhh ... wait ... no. It had some fans here but today it doesn't play much of a role. B)

Okay, must say those wrestlers do have some nice bodies & need the stamina, but yeah, it's more fun & show than real sport. Just my PoV witch is kinda biased since I never saw a wrestling match live & it is not supported here. Sorry to say that, don't feel offended ;)

Therefore, Ashley is more in that boxing sport in my opinion. She's really good, very fast and rarely uses brutal violence. She's a surgeon - does few but critical strikes. And she can't be hit. Elegant. Deadly. That's Ashley - in my headcanon.

I view Ashley a bit different when it comes to combat: I mean I figure she's good, quick with a gun and deadly too..But I don't see her as a surgeon on the battlefield, she's not an assassin, she's a soldier, when she has the AR she uses it for suppressing fire, burst fire, etc, the shotgun is gritty upclose stuff and I would say quite brutal. The sniper might be the exception though, I can see her going for headshots with that. And I think she definitly gets hit from time to time, that's why she's got nice and solid armour.
Also if for instance someone she needs to capture alive runs away, I don't believe she'll fire a few well aimed warning shots but rather incapacitate the person. Ofcourse that's all my opinion or canon, if you like.

Ah you're remembering her lines regarding "can't dodge bullets and therefore rely on heavy armor", amirite?

True. I concur - but wasn't talking about regular combat but hand-to-hand fights. She's not the grunt type. In my current playthrough I use her as sniper companion to my soldier!Shepard. In other playthroughs she's the bullet catcher, and she rarely went down. Any other squadmate died faster than her - even Wrex :P

Whatever, guess we all have different AND similar images of Ash. Mine is dead sexy and deadly

Yeah indeed I was thinking of those lines, but I didn't get you were talking about hand-to-hand, that does change it a little.
And true, Ash is pretty versatile  in combat, both lethal and a tank, useful in just about any situation!

Dead sexy and deadly? Agreed!

Shepard: Hey Ash. Why that sad face?
Ashley: Just thought about the time when you were gone ...
Shepard: Hmm ... think it's been eight months now, since our reunion on the Normandy ... I'm back for more than a year now.
Ashley: I know. It's still ... I missed you. Every day. And I still can't believe you're back. And yourself.
Shepard: If I could, I'd prove you that I'm still the same. Tell me how ...
Ashley: It's not that, John. It still feels like a dream. A nightmare, with all those Reapers, but you're with me, you're the only good part in that dream. A part of me wishes to wake up - and the Reapers are gone. Another part wants to stay with you.
Shepard: It is neither dream nor nightmare, Ashley. It's reality. I'm back, with you. And I promise I'll stay with you till the end.
Ashley: Don't promise something you can't do.
Shepard: I do intend to survive and finish the job. But I need you, or I'll fail.
Ashley: Hey, I don't wanna leave you and allow you to have all the fun, Skip-
Shepard: Into the fray, you, me, and the Normandy?
Ashley: Always. And that reminds me of something - we could die tomorrow ...
Shepard: We won't-
Ashley: Hey, just was trying to set up the right mood, and you're such a downer, John.
Shepard: All that stuff about "dying" and "ending" makes me nervous, Ash.
Ashley: Just wanted to ask you if I can stay tonight. Just in case there's no morning. Oh captain, my captain ...
Shepard: There always will be a tomorrow with you, Ash ...
Ashley: Prove it, Skipper. End this war.
Shepard: That's the plan-

@AD; well if I drop the dead that would leave us with ... sexy, are you hinting at something here?

@Data; Shepard found his cheese again I see :P Still don't like the "that's the plan" line, it sounds so unhelpful and a bit dumb, I think.

Shepard has a tendency to use stupid lines, but he's not stupid. :D

Reminds me of Jack O'Neill (Stargate SG1), if you ask me. :?

Wonder if Ashley would find him handsome :)

I know I find him handsome, but he's really let himself go after Stargate. I always pegged Ash as a Nathan Fillion Fan.

Heh, oddly enough, that's the type of man I imagine her dad would look like. Don't know if she'd find him handsome, but that kind of look might attract her, I think.

Brain: so we make him to Ashley's dad? Support, support, support this :-)

Hey, that's really awesome. Shepard, the Chuck Norris in the ME-universe gets the daughter of the Chuck Norris in the Stargate-universe ... hmmm ... fits. Awesome family. I'd love to see that. Seriously, BW should add a picture of Ashley's dad in ME3 and take Richard D. Anderson's picture (of course, O'Neill variant - no MacGyver plz ^^)

Who supports that too?

Well, I look at it from this Perspective.
My Shepard = Mal Reynolds of the ME universe.
Ashley = Samus Aran of ME Universe.
Shepard + Ashley = Badassery.

Ashley: You being an idiot!
Shepard: It happens!
Ashley: You know this is moronic!
Shepard: You want to run this ship?!
Ashley: Yes!
Shepard: ... well. You can't! My ship!
Ashley: Oh no no no it's not! You surrendered it to the alliance when you turned yourself in. And they gave it to me. Technically you're not a part of the Alliance at all anymore! You're striped of your comission!
Shepard: Yeah, well, *holds up dogtags.* These say otherwise.
Vega: Ok! Time out! Mum, Dad. We have work to do. I don't know about you two, but massive genocidal monsters are blowing up the earth, so can you two work out your repressed sexual tensions AFTER we save the Earth?

I accidently ran into the spoilers and had but a fleeting glace at one of the endings. I am doing everything I can to forget it now. If it helps wellactually12, I find concussive impacts against my forehead works rather well. LOL!

Its just... I don't know how to feel, I keep making excuses that could explain it but, I can only hope those rumours are true that Bioware purposely released the script to have reactions and that they're making major changes to it, but I doubt that Mac"Daddy" Walters has that much thought process to plan something that complex...

It wouldn't be the first time that such a technique has been attempted.  I seem to recall a movie that did this once in the past (Keep in mind I was born in the dark ages, so you probably wouldn't know it even if I could remember the incident).  As the news reports show, there has actually been an increase in interest in the game.  For this reason, the leak could have been entirely intended.  If my understanding of the nature of storyline documents is correct, such a document could be typed up within a reasonably short period of time thus allowing a fake version to be accidentally released to the public.  At the risk of sounding paranoid, this would be a good way to increase profits.  This is also true now that Bioware has admitted that they are taking the reviews of the fans into consideration for the final version.  This give us the sense of having some control over the final product and thus a greater investment in the game for when it is released.

As per my usual, I will try to hold my judgement unitill I actually finish my first playthough.

Yes, but WILL they listen to us? I keep feeling we're gonna have to start an Occupy Bioware or Occupy the parking lot of Bioware thing or Occupy a hallway at Bioware thing.

The spoilers have been somewhat discussed. I for one am keeping an open mind, but we are not going to go into it in this thread. This is a spoiler free zone, even if most of us kind of know what was leaked. :) If you please.

As for Ash's fighting style?

Dirty. She's totally the type to use all kinds of MMA moves and she goes for the eyes or whatever is weakest. When she's losing (in a real fight, not a sparring match) she pulls out all the stops and hits where it counts.
