I'd think she'd command her own ship. As much as she oves Shepard I'd think she'd be a better leader on her own to make her family name better than it was when she joined the Alliance. plus she's already a spectre and has probably led teams on her way to becoming a commander. You don't get that far without actually being in command.

Exactly. Garrus failed in his leadership attempt because he couldn't protect Sidonis from the mercs which led to him betraying Garrus. Then again Garrus REALLY should ahve attempted to get rid of Aria instead of fighting petty mercs that could team up on him.

I think that it would depend on your Shepards relationship with Ashley. If Ashley wasn't a LI and just a loyal Alliance solider then she would take the assignment that would make the most difference to the final outcome which would probably be taking command of her own ship.
 
If your Shepard did romance Ashley then she would stick like super glue to Shepard till the bitter end. She made the mistake once of leaving him behind when she knew in her heart she should stay (Destruction of Normandy SR1 by Collectors). She lost him and spent the next two years trying to rebuild her life and mend a broken heart. They either make it out together or they die together she wouldn't settle for anything less, she won't be left behind again.

I think she might go for being in command herself too, in the end. But she would take big risk, I wonder whether she has been leading teams a lot, a lot of Spectres seem to work alone, if she hasn't had much extra experience her choosing to lead her own ship could even be considered unwise. Then again she does seem to have control of the Normandy, but had she actually flown with it before or command another ship? 

Also I don't think Garrus should've gone after Aria. She's the most important and powerful person on Omega and it would be taking a ludicrous risk to go after her. Cleaning up the smaller mercs is a much better way to contribute for a small team like Garrus's was. I f everything had gone well, then they might've taken a shot at Aria. Also I doubt whether it was completely Garrus's fault that Sidonis betrayed him, since I don't believe we know enough about Sidonis and his real motivations. Nontheless Garrus's leadership wasn't much of a succes ofcourse, but I'm not sure if Ashley would be the better leader, it depends on how much experience she's had since ME2 I guess.


@Alliance; That distinction between romance/non-romance makes sense to me, I think I agree that that'd possibly be the case. It fits with her character to let emotion, at least under the surface, be a deciding factor in this.

Though both Garrus and Ashley hate politics Ashley is willing to follow order's, that is one of the many things a Spectre has to do, that said when people say Ashley is a "racist" a spectre has to be able to work with other species and yet Saren hated human's and he was a spectre, Ashley's work with the STG on virmire is more than enough to show that she is willing to work with other species (she even asked that she should go with the Salerian's)

Spectre's don't have to be friendly, that's why the council never really asks for details form their operatives, just the final outcome.

Ashley's work with the STG is a big part of her charaacter development to me. It shows her that Aliens don't see humanity as bullies or a lesser species and shows her that working ith aliens is really neccessary so when I save her on Virmire I send her with the STG.

Like I said though, not so much in sparring.  But a real fight?  I feel like a Krogan with both eyes would be f*cking wary of her if he knew how she operated.  And he'd guard at least two of his balls.

Honestly, as much as I like the idea of Ashley being in command of what have you... I'd be willing to bet that she's been working a lot on her own since the end of ME1. Doing special assignments for Anderson and Hackett... missions like Horizon, etc.

And if you want to use in-game things as proof for something then...
Garrus is a good leader, the SM says so.

I agree with ADLegend, I feel Ashley would do better if she were in command of her own ship. She has experience dealin with this stuff and I think she's a good leader in her own right. As much as I'd like for her to be a part of my squad I feel she would do more good with a team of her own.

On the Garrus side, I think he's a good soldier, and he has the skills. I've said it before, I don't feel he has the discipline or fortitude to be a SPECTRE. He follows his own unflichin code, he works better as a vigilante than an official operative. When it comes to the hard decisions I feel he would follow his instict in the pursuit of justice, and that's very slippery slope that leads to an agent like Saren.

Ashley needs more expirience in commanding her own ship. Hell she has not commanded her own squad yet. She might be a spectre but she still needs command expirience. That is why she gets assigned to normandy probably in temporary command till shepard gets reinstated or new co is apointed.

actually she was the leader of the 212. Also that's why there's 3 years of her story missing, that gives her the credentials of a leader and a Spectre. She wasn't just given the keys to a ship without knowing how to lead.

Yep it's January but we still don't know what date. Knowing my luck it will be between the 9th to the 13th as I booked a log cabin in the middle of no where that week for me and my girlfriend Ashley. Just me and her no phone no internet no people but us. What are we going to do to pass the all that time?
