It might be based on what we saw in the leaked beta but that was the start of the ME3 game.
I think that it will be some of the lesser side missions that we get to play in the finished game, just to give us a feel for the new combat and movement systems.

Although I'm hoping that it could be a set out like a dlc episode for the time between the end of ME2 and before the start of ME3. Say some small missions then a large amount of cut scenes where Shepard surrenders to Anderson and we get introduced to Vega. Thus we won't get a big void between the ME2 and ME3. Since we do know that ME3 does start at earth even before the leaked beta came out.

The only problem with that theory is that Ashley would most likely not be in it. Though I'm basing that on Ashley and Shepards reaction to seeing each other in the leaked beta (As though they hadn't seen each other since Horizon).

Just working on some Christmas Dialogues will post them as soon as I'm done.

Yeah,I guess you're right.Perhaps something similar to Mass Effect 2 demo?Where you start the demo just like in the real game,but then you jump into one of the missions,in this case jack's recruit mission. Have a nice day everyone! I've got some stuff to do for now,cya later.

Pre-ordering mass effect on Tuesday or Wednesday, so excited. Can't wait to have ash but in my squad!

Here's that Christmas eve dialogue I promised it follows on from the Christmas tree in a shuttle dialogue I wrote a while back. Sorry it took me a while to post this I've had the search through the threads past pages to find the Christmas tree in a shuttle dialogue for those who missed it. All the way back to page 490 has it really been that long?

Ashley: You couldn't have picked a bigger Christmas tree if you tried John.
Shepard: Hey I measured this so it would fit in the mess hall from floor to ceiling.
Ashley: But it's so wide, weren't their any skinny trees down there?
Shepard: Nope and even if there was I would still of picked this, it's the perfect Christmas tree.
Ashley: But it's so big and without any decorations it's just overkill.
Shepard: Do you really think that I would go to all of the trouble to get this tree and not have decorations for it. I thought you knew me better than that.
Ashley: I know you've always got a plan A then a plan B, C, D and E
Shepard: Don't forget plan F that's my favourite
Ashley: Plan F what's that one?
Shepard: Fu*k it I'll just use my Cain and see what that does plan.
Ashley: hehehehehehehehehe........So where are these decorations?
Shepard: The big box under that table.
 
*Ashley brings the box over and starts to unpack the decorations*
 
Ashley: Lets see Lights, baubles, bells...... John there's no tinsel?
Shepard: No I hate the stuff. Can you pass me the lights
Ashley: Here you go....I remember when I was a kid me and my sisters used to make paper chains and hang them up all over the house. I miss those times.
Shepard: Take a look in the bottom of the box
Ashley: huh....oh John. Wait how did you know?
Shepard: Sarah told me when I talked to her a couple of weeks ago.
Ashley: You've been talking to my sister?
Shepard: Well she called me. After she talked with you last she was worried so when we
were in real-time comm. range she asked to speak with me.
Ashley: Why didn't you tell me?
Shepard: Sarah wanted to know if you could spend Christmas with your family
Ashley: I know she asked me and I said I couldn't make it, *smiles* Sarah never could take no for an answer. How did she take it?
Shepard: I explained that none of use would get to see our families it's part of the life we chose. She was disappointed but she understood and she was happy that at least you would be spending Christmas with the man you love. She also sent your presents to me so you could open them on Christmas Day.
Ashley: How did she manage to get them to you so fast?
Shepard: Oh I pulled a few strings..........called in some markers you know nice guy stuff.
Ashley: *walks over and kisses Shepard* Can I open them now?
Shepard: No
Ashley: Oh come on John who is going to know?
Shepard: Sarah told me you could never wait.
Ashley: oh maybe I can change your mind *Passionately Kisses Shepard*
Shepard: you'll have to do better than that. Now pass me the baubles I want to get this done before the crew wake up.
Ashley: Fine I'll help, but we are going to sort this out later.
Shepard: Try you're hardest I'll never give in *Kisses Ashley then turns back to decorate the tree*

Shepard: Because I told them in a round-a-bout way, 'Go to hell'. And Admiral Kaine ordered me to take the day off.
Ashley: He's a nice father.
Shepard: Lately he has.
Ashley: Define 'lately'.
Shepard: ... admittedly, since I came back. I'd hate to say that my dad was a cold man, but he was very distant. Even for a military father.
Ashley: I guess he realised how much his son meant to him.
Shepard: Hate to have it put like that, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Ashley: How about we get off the morbid and focus on the important thing?
Shepard: Right. Merry Christmas Ash.
Ashley: 'Merry Christmas'. I meant the bacon.
