Well then, in the meantime let's just try to discuss the topic I brought up (or any other topic brought up by anyone else) in order to push that image as far away from us as possible.

To reiterate:

Well, in the effort to talk about something else and move away from the
trauma of this situation, let's go back to the discussion about
merchendising for the VS with the following question?
How would you
feel if you heard there was going to be a bishojou statue of Ashley
(something I'm sure is actually going to happen some day)?
Would you
be outraged, disgusted or maybe excited for some kind of merchendise
centered around one of your favorites being immortalized into statue
form?

Personally, I would have a mixed reaction and it would
depend on the nature of the statue itself. I wouldn't mind the existence
of a sexy statue of Ashley, provided it still actually captured her
personality and essence and gave her strength and dignity. I certainly
wouldn't be pleased if Kotako went the route of 'baby faced pornstar'
like the original design for Liara.
But then again the fact that
they actually reduced her bust size and gave her a face that actually
looked human and adult as a sort of response to the, righteous, response
to it and actually reduced her bust size and gave her an 'adult' face
gives me the ever so slight reason to believe that a anime style statue
of Ashley could (emphasis on could) not turn out to be a disaster.

That
said, I wouldn't be able to properly have an opinion on it until I
actually saw the thing and even then it would have to be pretty
dignified and respectful to the character for my reaction to not be
riddled with hostility. All the same, I have many pop culture icons
adorning my shelf, I certainly wouldn't mind Ashley being up there some
day.

But still, where would the rest of you stand on that?

Well, I wouldn't be inclined to buy it, that's for sure, but I wouldn't be offended by it either since it is (atleast I think it is) the stye of those kind of statues. So someone who likes the style would probably appreciate that the characters have been converted into that style.

At the same time I'd rather see more realistic statues that are more fitting with the games. Such oversexualisation doesn't seem to fit Ash, but neither does it fit Liara. It's just inherently a problem/clash with the source material and I wonder how much market there really is for these statues. In the end I won't be outraged by it, nor would I be excited, it's just something that doesn't cater to me, so I'd have no reason to complain about it, although It's still weird that they choose for this style.

Yeah, I agree with that. Personally I'd prefer a statue that's done in a 'realistic' style over the anime one (or hell even just a standard action figure) but I get the feeling it's going to be only Bishojou, at least for a while.

Strange, meaning no offence Reed but I'd figured you'd be much more likely to burn it at the stake. Given how openly (and rightfully) you spoke out about Ashley's casual outfit.

Yes, but Ashley has no merch whatsoever and if she got one, I'd like to be able to own it. Show my love for the character and what not, ya know? 

That said, I would indeed prefer a phoenix armored or N7 armored Ashley statue over a ME3 hooker suit statue.

Yeah, that's my mindset as well. I just want some kind of Ashley figure on my shelf, to be honest.
Because I love Ashley but the day is going to come, years after I've played Mass Effect 3 and gotten my resolution where I'm going to move on and it would be nice if I could just have a little figure of her somewhere on my desk or shelf as a little permenant reminder of the character I grew to like so much, that I may look back with fondness.

Lets hope BW won't do any funny stuff with her. At least nothing that's un-Ashley. We know Ash has a very enjoyable funny side lingering under her tough shell. Funny doesn't mean dumb. And Ash is one of few characters not acting dumb or naive in ME. With exception of the Beacon in ME1.

I don't know why this popped in my head, but I was thinking about Ash and poetry and then it somehow got related to Ash talking to Jack about poetry and what they might of written in the past, what their favourites are, etc. Good icebreaker for future banter.

Preordered ME3 today, just have to wait till the release date... can't wait for it, mainly can't wait till i have Ashley back on my squad, she is my favorite squad member. best person to take along with my Shepard in ME (he was an adept and was seriously too nice).

Impossible. When you reach max level, you stop levelling and Aurora's already max level +1 when it comes to dialogues
