Forever alone Shepard is sad.

And so is Ashley, if she imagines a forever!alone Shepard who once was in love with her ...

Ashley: Man, when you went down… I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life.
Shepard: Damn near broke my tailbone.
Ashley: Just say your ass.
Shepard: My ass then.
Ashley: Better. How’s your ass holding up by the way? Think you can drag it back to the Normandy?
Shepard: I’ve had worst, I’ll be all right.
Ashley: We should do that more often. *Grabs Shepard’s hand again as they walk* Not the falling on your ass part.
Shepard: What, act like a couple of kids fighting in the snow?
Ashley: Why not? You only live once. And these are the moments you’ll remember.
Shepard: All right. I’m up for it.
Ashley: See, I can make you let loose and have fun.
Shepard: I have fun. I’m just a little rusty at it however.
Ashley: I’ll straighten you out.
Shepard: Is it weird that I suddenly feel like I’m 16 again?
Ashley: I’d say that’s a good thing, not weird.
Shepard: Must be hanging around with you that does it to me.
Ashley: I’ll take that as a compliment.

Okay, all right. No more Christmas dialogue. It’s time I got over it. Christmas is over! Gone for another year. Data and Aurora, take over with the dialogue. You guys are awesome keep doing what you're doing. :)

@Brain. Nice. I have been actually lol. I can’t stop listening to ‘Dominick the Italian Christmas donkey’ I just love that sh*t =L

Last shorty for today ^^

Shepard: Ashley - you have the bridge. I'm tired ... time for bed now.
Ashley: Good night, Skipper. No "together night" for us?
Shepard: Not until we're done with that job. I'm sorry Ash - I just try to keep things professional.
Ashley: I understand, John. It's just ...
Shepard: ... that we can die every day?
Ashley: Yes. And I don't wanna waste any minute of the time we still have left. I don't want to be without you.
Shepard: I'll see what I can do. Someone has to command the ship while you and I are ... off duty.
Verner: Pick me. I joined your crew and look, I'm useful! I even repaired that gun you gave me.
Shepard: Okay, Conrad. Don't hit any buttons. Just take your place here ... right. And now look like a real captain. Fine. Perfect.
Verner: Aye, aye, Sir!
Ashley: I'm not sure if that's a good idea ...
Shepard: Trust me. If everything goes wrong, Joker and EDI will save the day ... Conrad has no real authority here.
Ashley: Hmm, I hope so.
Shepard: Good night everyone ... Ash - your cabin or mine?
Ashley: Yours. I love that ceiling light ... and the shower ... wanna take a shower with me?
Shepard: Always, Ash ... always.
Verner: Sir, Sir! I've got a pressure in my pants!
Shepard/Ashley: *facepalm*

Back again. Great dialogues you guys.

So I was scanning the forums section and saw the topic title - "Visually, Ashley is the new Miranda" - What's this about Ashley being the new Miranda? If anything, I always thought it was the other way around as Miranda became the female lead in ME2, but regardless, they don't look or behave alike at all.

The stress of supposed replacement could make for a an interesting dialogue though.

Miranda: Ashley, I've played armchair psychologist for so many hours trying to analyze why you're so consistently hostile to me in your actions and in your attitudes and the only theory that I've been able to come up with is that you somehow felt threatened by my relationship with Shepard, but that theory just doesn't stand up anymore. You won in that rivalry, Ashley ... And I just want to know why you're still treating me like I'm this vixen that came into town and stole away your one true love.

Ashley: Unbelievable.

Miranda: What?

Ashley: You want our relationship to change, Miranda? Then stop encroaching on what's mine. I mean, you systematically continue to recast yourself in my role. Everytime I turn around I've been replaced by you in some form and then you feign shock and surprise when I resent you for it.

Miranda: How have I replaced you, Ashley?

Ashley: Oh, well first you were Shepard's Lieutenant, then you were his collaborator, his lover, his best friend? I mean, you've adopted his interests and his dreams and now you've forged official ties with the Alliance. Come on, what's next? You gonna throw your hair in a bun and start firing a Boomstick?

Miranda: *Coldly* I love how you demonize me, Ashley, instead of recognizing your own rampant insecurities.

Ashley: Fine. Maybe I am slightly insecure, but maybe you just won't own up to your own motives. You could be anywhere in the galaxy, yet you choose to be aboard this ship. See, when Shepard choose me I think your ego was bruised and deep down you still want to win. You still want him back.

That was great! haha

Problem is, My Shepard doesn't become Miranda's lover and she bites it on the SM.

That little snip was good. I like it when Ash gets feisty lol. But am I the only one who thinks that Ashley and Miranda would actually get along if Shepard stayed faithful? And if Miranda wears some armor for once. =P

I think they would be exactly like Youth's dialog. No way they would get along. They'd constantly be competing, I'd say. They would tolerate each other on a mission, for the sake of the mission and that's it.

Almost your idea, AD, almost.

I don't think Miranda will become XO again as long as Ashley is around. So in my hierarchy, Shepard is CO, Ashley his XO and Miranda is XO if Shepard and Ashley are not on board. Something like that.

Shepard
Ashley
Garrus

for me.

edit: ok, caught up now. lol

if we're going by charcter backstory then Miranda would be better than Ashley. Better marksman (unless ashley gets adrenaline rush like soldier shep) tougher, smarter, and a better strategist. Ashley's no slouch though and both are better than Garrus. lol

Better Marksman? what?! No way in hell. Especially since all miranda uses is a pistol and an smg that has no accuracy. Garrus is also a better shot than Miranda.

Strategist, I'll give her that b/c we haven't seen Ash in that capacity yet. And Garrus is just as good at strategy, the dude held off three entire merc groups on his own b/c he knew the territory he was using. (Don't start on getting people killed, betrayal has nothing to do with strategy)

Tougher? Hell no. And Garrus took a chain gun blast from a ship... can't get much tougher than that.

Smarter? Probably smarter than both.

Miranda is better up close, compared to Ashley and Garrus who are better at a distance.
i always had Ashley on sniper, me on shotgun and garrus on assault rifle.
Miranda was pistol, me shotgun(if grunt wasn't in the party-assault rifle then) and the other squad member would either be sniper or assault rifle.

Dude Miranda talks about shooting something at a 100 meters WITH THAT SMG! Garrus and Ashley use snipers, also Miranda ALWAYS has the locust, most accurate non sniper gun. She can do all that with less.

Garrus also has natural plating, Miranda has no such luxury and heals faster than everyone. She also surives several combat situations and shot to the stomach in a body suit, even when she's unloyal! Garrus takes the same shot when unloyal and in his armor he dies. She'll also live longer than he and ashley if they all die natural deaths. and yeah smarter.Image IPB

she lives half the age of humans, she even said that herself to shepard in one of the few first conversations you have with her. I've got almost all dialogue from the game for male shep. never played female shepard. don't know why really.

And she can shoot the head of a mech off at 100 yards using that pistol or smg. Credit where it's due.

She will live half again as long as the average human. According to Shepard in ME1, humans can live up to 150 years in the ME universe. That puts her life span around...225 years.

Imagine Ashley under Miranda's ppassive, higher weapon damage for an already hyper lethal soldier. *dreamy sigh*

being loyal or unloyal doesn't have anything to do with their toughness... that's plot armor Miranda has on. Invalid.

As for her gun skills, she's only trained in two weapons and while she may be a great marksman with those two weapons, Ashley is trained in ALL of them and is a marksman with every one. Who's the better marksman? The one who can only use two weapons or the one who can use many? Obviously the one who can use more and not only that, that would make Ashley more versatile on the battlefield.

As for which weapon they use... that's up to the player, so again... invalid.

longer life span =/= better sqaudmate or whatever we're arguing about here.

Smarter is about all she has over them.

The number of guns Ashley is trained on has no relevance to this discussion. Who is more impressive? The person who hits a distant target with a sniper rifle or the person who hits the same target with a pistol?
If you say that being able to use more guns than Miranda makes Ashley a better soldier than Miranda, I won't disagree with you. However, I have not yet seen any amazing feats of marksmanship from Ashley.
Also, you can't be a marksman with a shotgun. Those are guns meant for close quarters combat.

Obviously the one who can use more and not only that, that would make Ashley more versatile on the battlefield.

Ashley has four guns. Miranda has two guns, biotics and tech skills. Miranda is more versatile.

And neither does half the stuff you and your cohorts have brought up. We're talking about guns and marksmanship not biotics or tech. How many guns someone can use is most definitely relative to a discussion about that.

And being a marksman with multiple weapons is more impressive than only being a marksmas with a couple, sorry. If someone can hit a target with a rifle, pistol, sniper, shotgun, and heavy weapons while the other can hit the same target with a pistol and an smg, but can't hit the broad side of a barn with a rifle, sniper, and heavy weapon then obviously the better marksman is the former, not the latter.

And as for amazing feets of marksmanship... when have we seen Miranda do anything either? I haven't.

Edit: If we're going off of comments by the character... Ashley can drill someone b/w the eyes at 100 meters.

And you try going out in a field, set up a target, then run straight away from it, spin, fall on the ground and then hit the target. You won't be able to do it and that target isn't even moving. I'd call that a great feat of marksmanship and Ashley did that in ME1.

Reed your whole argument is based on the pretense of gameplay mechanics from Mass Effect, Ashley won't be carrying around 4 weapons in Mass Effect 3. Your whole point is kind of iffy. Especially when I can counter with lore. Just saying.

My cohorts? C'mon now, I'm an Ashley fan, just like you. Even if I don't post as much in this thread.

We're talking about guns and marksmanship not biotics or tech. How many guns someone can use is most definitely relative to a discussion about that.

You said that Ashley was more versatile in the battlefield than Miranda. Since you did not specify wheter you were referring only to their guns or not, I felt that this was a separate point and thus, Miranda's biotics and tech skills were relevant.
Yes, as far as guns go, Ashley is more versatile than Miranda.

But being a marksman with certain weapons is more impressive than with others. I do not deny that Ashley has been trained in four weapons, which is impressive. However, where is it stated that she can hit a distant target just as well with a pistol as she can with a sniper rifle? Should we assume that it is so?

And as for amazing feets of marksmanship... when have we seen Miranda do anything either? I haven't.

The game stated it. Unless you intend to claim that Miranda was lying, we do not need to actually see it.

If we're going off of comments by the character... Ashley can drill someone b/w the eyes at 100 meters.

Ah, a good point. Yes, I failed to remember this particular line. And thus, her markmanship skills have been proved.
However, can she do it with the four guns? Doubtful, there is no way she could do it with the shotgun or assault rifle, for example. If you insist that the fact Ashley can use two more guns than Miranda proves her superiority, I must also insist that you present proof that Ashley can drill a target between the eyes at 100 meters with all four guns.

And you try going out in a field, set up a target, then run straight away from it, spin, fall on the ground and then hit the target. You won't be able to do it and that target isn't even moving. I'd call that a great feat of marksmanship and Ashley did that in ME1.

They were close and moving towards her. I feel your previous point is much more poignant.
