Or you could gibbed ME2 and make Ash your FemShep's romance. If it imports right... you'll have Ash+FemShep whether it was supposed to happen or not. ;)

I am not so certain that gibbed games will work in ME 3 and would rather it be a part of the intended game design. If not a part of the intended game design, then I am not really interested in 'faking' it.

No, I wasn't imagining it like  Ash sisters+physical love...as I'm desperately trying not to, right now. That just sounds cringeworthy. I know it's not what you mean but..yeah.

I can imagine a non-sexual romance between Fshep and Ashley though, but not with my current femshep and not in the way she cares for her sisters, because that's not romantic in my mind atleast. But if the romance lasts it would grow out to something bigger and sexual. I feel like I'm stating the obvious.

I don't see why they wouldn't...

the game looks for the values (I think in gibbed it was like a 4 to have romanced Ashley) so if the game sees four, it thinks you romanced Ash in the previous games so the romance plays out. If less than four, it won't.

I don't see how that wouldn't import. But you never know.

I guess it would be "fake", but don't look at it like that. lol

Reed: I'm pretty sure there are routines in that importer that prevents something like this.

Easiest way?
Check for gender. Is it female? If yes, check possible romance options.
Is current romance option valid for that gender? If no, don't import.

It's not that difficult. I'm sure BW is well aware of that fact. And as Selene said: if it's not part of the game, it's not intended to happen. So I refuse to use the gibbed editor to make something happen that's no longer part of the game ...

(As much as I'd love to see fem!Shep + Ashley, I also refuse to cheat to make it happen.)

I am currently going through my first femShep play through that I think I am going to finish all the way (I know it's bad but I like the Ash romance so much that it was hard to complete a play through without it) and I really like the sister-like relationship Ash has with Shepard. A s/s romance would be nice for those who want it though. The sister-like relationship between femShep and Ash is pretty unique for Mass Effect IMO.

All this S/S talk reminds me to make a Femshep so I can be ready to break Joker in half in ME3

With love, of course

No, I don't think it checks for the gender of Shepard in the romance, it checks to see if you've completed enough of the romance markers... otherwise it wouldn't let the Ash talk to Shepard like they romanced each other in ME1. B/c that is exactly what happens when you change the values in gibbed.

*shrug*

w/e, just trying to give alternate opportunity in case someone wanted it.

Nop. Thing is that: ME doesn't check if you hacked your savegame I think. Importing is something different - at least there the importer can check some of the more important values.

So if BW adds a routine that checks for gender + romances they easily can find out if something is wrong.
In worst case there are some dialogues missing for a S/S romance since they're not always identically. Also it could be possible some dialogues don't make any sense - like Ashley talking about having children with Shepard while Shepard is female (yes, I ignore the fact you can adopt kids).
As I said, in worst case your playthrough will be bugged in ME3 since dialogues are missing. In best case everything works fine, but I doubt it'll do.

Whatever - if the importer does -not- check for that and simply allows fem!Shep & Ashley ... dunno. Was it possible to import such gibbed savegame into ME2? What happened at Horizon?

Image IPBI think the fireeye signal needs some new batteries.

Question: What do you hope to have learned of Ashley by the end of ME3?

Question: What do you hope to have learned of Ashley by the end of ME3?

- more about her sisters
- her past (relationships before Shepard)
- the two years without Shepard
- redeeming of "Williams" complete
- does she end her career to settle down with Shepard
- does she want children with Shepard
- does she like coffee? ^^
- christian, jew or muslim? She believes in god, but never stated which one.
- in case she doesn't wanna settle down: does she get her own ship?
- also in case she doesn't settle down: does she continue working with Shepard as "Spectre-Duo"?

Lots of questions

That's quite a good list. Hmm I wonder about her religion though, it could be none of those. Maybe a hybrid form or just a believe in a god, without the rituals and everything around it.

I'm definately hoping for the redemption of the Williams name, that seems like a nice conclusion to her personal story. I just hope it doesn't end with a sacrifice, to achieve that.

The two years without seems like something that will be addressed.

A few more:
-Her views on Aliens?
-Different poetry!
-The question of trust, that seems to be big deal with the VS, whilst I don't necessarily hope they make a big deal out of it, they probably will, I guess. It could be quite interesting though. It's nice to have someone question Shepard for a change. (although Miranda did question Shepard aswell at first)

Bare in mind, while talking about religion in the Mass Effect universe, it was stated in the novels that most ethnic groups were completely shaken to the core and some even have their core believe systems shattered by the unearthing of the martian Prothean Ruins. When TIM had been contemplating it while observing the aftermath of Sovereign's attack on the Citadel, he even mused that the various ethnicities of Earth were still trying to get their acts together. So it could be that part of their 'reformation' would have been a merging of sorts for the different denominations, particularly Catholic and Anglican churches and possibly jewish, to help stabilise things.

I'm sorry, I had a point to all of that, and I was going to expand upon it more, but I've forgotten it. Apologies.

Besides, Jon-Mal doesn't care which religious group that Ash follows. So long as she's back, kicking ass and being the uber sass-master that he remembers and loves, he's cool with it.

Shepard: Doesn't hurt that she's let her hair down a bit too. Though, I kind of miss the bun.
Ashley: Really?
Shepard: Yeah, I liked it. Don't get me wrong, I like it now too. It just looks a little like -
Ashley: Say I look like Miranda and I put Shepard Jr. out of action for a week.
Shepard: ... Because I value my manhood, I'll be silent,
Ashley: Good boy.
Shepard: -.-

That's interesting, I didn't know. It makes sense, as does some kind of reformation. In any case it doesn't seem like Ashley is actually very actively busy with religious stuff. Although she does pray, doesn't she? But next to that she doesn't seem very busy with it. Ofcourse that could be the result of simply a lack of ingame talk that fleshes this part of her out a little more, room for that in ME3 maybe? It's interesting that ME tackles this subject.

Also no need to apologize Image IPB
And yeah the bun....Image IPB

NON-spoiler endgame dialogue ...

Some things are worth dying for. Others aren't. I died once and I'm sure I'll die again before this war ends. If that's my fate, I'll make sure it's worth. For everyone. For Ashley, my love, my hope and the reason why I went through hell the past three years.

Joker: I can't do that, Ashley. One hit and we're gone, we won't make it!
Ashley: Just make sure we reach Shepard in time.
Joker: There's no way. I'm the best, and even I can't find a way through that mess! There are fifty or more Reapers pointing their guns at us!
Ashley: The Fifth will keep 'em busy. Just bring us through that corridor.
Joker: With all due respect ...
Ashley: Don't finish that line. Do it.
Joker: Aye Ma'am. Going in.
Ashley: C'mon, Skipper, hold on ...

I met her again: Sha'ira. She told me I'll go through that war and will have to do a great sacrifice to end it. Now what can I sacrifice? A world? The Normandy? My friends? My love? No - I won't sacrifice them, not as long as I live ... which is the key ... the key ...

Ashley: How long?
Joker: Five minutes, maybe more. I barely can find that corridor through all that fire.
Ashley: You're doing your best, I know.
Joker: EDI helps me a lot here ... know that?
EDI: Thank you, Jeff.
Ashley: Never thought I would say that, but God thanks we have EDI.
EDI: I'll take it as a compliment.
Joker: See? I knew you two would become friends!
Ashley: Just keep the Normandy in one piece, Joker.

Pull the trigger? Push the button? Does my death change anything? This is it, the final battle. But what if I die and the Reapers can't be destroyed that way? No - this is the end of all things. I need to do that, that's my fate. No happy future for John Shepard. No family with Ashley, no little children's feet in my house. Be honest to yourself, John, you knew it would end like this. You knew it when you saw the vision the first time. You knew it when you were brought back ...

EDI: Jeff, there's a energy peak at coordinates 45.21N;58.12E ...
Joker: That's Shepard's position! What happened?
EDI: According to the reading it's a positron matrix building up. Detonation in 30 seconds.
Joker: Wait, ... that means Shepard ...
EDI: Initiated the bomb. It'll disrupt any Mass Effect fields in an area of a diameter of at least 30 AE.
Ashley: No ... John, what have you done?
Joker: Whatever he did, we need to get out of here, or we're all dead!
Ashley: This is not fair ...
Joker: Joker to Fifth Fleet. Admiral Hackett, we need to jump out - now! Positron charge set and detonating in 20 seconds!
Hackett: Understood. FTL drives charged - we're falling back to Aurora System.
Joker: Aye. Coordinates received. Hope it was worth it.
Ashley: ... yes ... hope it's worth ...

Last seconds of your life, John. Hope you're in peace with yourself ... this time no one will put your remains together ...
I don't want to die! I don't want to die! I don't want-

Thanks. I like that track - fits to that dialogue. I listened to the suicide run soundtrack (but the extended version)

The funny part of this it ... when I started writing that little dialogue I didn't know where it goes - now until that last third. Is that a bad sign? :?

No in sense sometimes is writing  exploration process - sometimes you don't know where your going  til you get there.

This works for small short pieces not necessarily long  tales or trilogies can be appailed to both in varring degrees.

@CptData Great dialogue, that was pretty intense.

And I'm probably the last person here to listen to the Horizon letter from Ash read aloud... I cried. That was so awesome, I'm pumped for March!

we have to remember the demo is a default playthrough so no romances with anyone, so I'm guesnig an unromanced VS will be saying "I used to" or who knows, both versions of the VS will say "I used to" but it'll mean different things.
