"Also lots of questions about Ashley. We've only showed her in a jacket outfit & its CE variant. She will also have full armor and helmet."

I am happy.

No I'm assuming she knew her grand dad.  She would have been born not so much as a year after Shanxi and she said he spent the rest of his retirement working construction.  She never said when he died.  Obviously she knew her grandfather though.  He was around long enough for there to be a bunch of legal red tape and attempts to get him exonerated and such.

With certain other threads being a bit bonkers at present, I'll ask here. That second planned appearance, with the 'full armour and helmet'. I'm assuming that's all the information there is, but is said helmet going to have the option to hide it? I never was all that keen on Mass Effect helmets.

I think one of the confirmed features is a helmet toggle for you and your squad yes.

As someone else suggested, we also need a bun toggle for Ash.

And no, that is not an innuendo :innocent:

I think it was Shadow who first suggested it.  I'm all for a bun toggle/helmet toggle.

Not to get too off topic, but I'm wondering if Kaidan gets a similar "relaxed" wear outfit like Ashley. I'd hate to see Kaidan wearing that armor when he isn't in a combat situation. I'm thinking it might be something like the Cerberus uniform, but different colors.

@Badpie. Hmm... that's true, hadn't thought of that. I just had this image of Ashley's father telling her stories of her Grandfather and well... I couldn't help thinking that he'd of mentioned what he knows (or thinks he knows) of his own father. But if he was filled in by the Alliance then what he knows could be totally wrong anyway..

Gen. Williams sure seems to hate Turians, and he's most definitely NOT on board with the whole co-exist thing. Ash was certainly exposed to some of this, which is probably where a lot of her negative ideas about non-humans originated.   I honestly doubt she got the full brunt of his dislike for nonhumans though, which may be why she's hesitant, but still relatively open-minded.

Regardless of which version is correct, Ash's story or the comic, the part I'm still hung up on is the line Shepard says during the conversation - "As I recalled, your grandfather held out for a long time."
And this is coming from someone, from a completely different background, with no prior involvement with Ashley or her family, who apparently has some knowledge of the events of Shanxi and it's relation to the General.

Not to go off-topic, but in the novel Revelations, it was stated that Saren's reason for hating humans was because his brother was killed by one during the First Contact War. Yet, in the the Evolution comics, he's the one who kills him, to prevent him from using a Reaper artifact to take over their home-world. (a rather large contradiction IMO)
This is why I don't put much stock in the comic's portrayal of events in the ME storyline, other than TIM's background, since there is no other version.  Posted Image

Both sides had their reasons to alter the official story - there were only a few left alive to tell the real one and they kept it a secret.

The version that differs from 'Evolution' is the the way every Human and Turian learned it in school, imo

Of course, the problem with that is "Then why are Kaiden, Vega, Shepard, Garus, and almost certainly Wrex and Grunt still  wearing that old obsolete junk?"

As I said, people like the visual appearance vs functionality .. The armor reminds me of stories where the costumes created for films/tv have to be revised because while they look "cool" the actors find that they have no or limited mobility. Posted Image

The armor may look good but I would prefer a uniform that looks like you could actually move "quickly" in ... but to each his own. Hopefully Bioware gives us options.

EDIT: Playing catch up .. see CHuds twit ... everyone happy! Posted Image

Thanks! I was looking for a way to bring my two favourite Mass Effect ladies together in a sig banner and when the bun toggle was mentioned again it finally hit me how.

Moar Ash.

I thought it would be interesting for someone like Ash, who has no interest in politics or anything to be thrust to the forefront of humanity as a human SpecTRe. No doubt among her many duties there would be a swanky society party or two that she would be obligated to attend...begrudgingly. Poor gal. All she wants to do is bust heads and defeat the Reapers, but politics dictate she has to wear a nice dress and sip champagne. I bet this crap was Udina's idea....

New confirmed ME3 feature: The new Dual Purpse Bun Toggle (DPBT) will put Ashley's hair up into her famous bun arrangement as well as adjust the in-game camera level to crack height. This will allow gamers to double their pleasure in combat situations.

@Badpie. Lovely pic! I wonder how discreet Ash could be in the case of espionage. Either way heads will roll. XD

Oh, and @Haynoats I also feel like I should say ... DOUBLE BUN TOGGLE!! :P and honestly... I can't believe I never thought of that myself haha!

@Badpie: Love the first pic! Great shot.

@ Milla: Yeah, well all that talk about bun toggles tickled my funny bone so I had to do something.

I think she could pull it off, but she wouldn't like it.  She's much rather just punch a guy and take something from him than charm him and get close enough to swipe it, for instance.  She'd rather kick a door down than sneak around like Kasumi.  And she'd much rather be in muck with her assault rifle than a society party with a bunch of rich clowns.  :)

But could she do it?  Oh hell yeah.
