I thought it would be interesting for someone like Ash, who has no interest in politics or anything to be thrust to the forefront of humanity as a human SpecTRe. No doubt among her many duties there would be a swanky society party or two that she would be obligated to attend...begrudgingly. Poor gal. I think she could pull it off, but she wouldn't like it.  She's much rather just punch a guy and take something from him than charm him and get close enough to swipe it, for instance.  She'd rather kick a door down than sneak around like Kasumi.  And she'd much rather be in muck with her assault rifle than a society party with a bunch of rich clowns.  

But could she do it?  Oh hell yeah.

This would be really fun to see and probably pretty humorous as well.  I can picture her getting hit on by some white collar criminal in a horribly cheesy way, smiling at him to keep her cover, and just as she passes him rolling her eyes and saying something along the lines of "schmuck" under her breath.

Ha! I have an image of her going off to private with some guy she has to get intel from and after putting up with and giggling at several attempt to seduce her she finally just sighs, says "screw it" and punches him out.

Yeah I don't get the whole "this isn't Ashley" argument for a few reasons:

1) Character development. We don't know anything about Ashley for the last, what...three years now? (sadness)

character development? please...  character development would be something like... trusting aliens more after having served with them in ME1 and in her new spectre role... being promoted and earning a new title (which she has), learning the real fate of her grandfather like you were saying with your, what if he founded cerberus, idea and how that changes her look on the universe.... NOT just deciding oh hey... let's wear garters, skirts, and heels into combat, when I actually said I would never do that. Let's be a space bimbo now that always agrees with shepard and wants to sex him at every possible turn... no longer be witty or brash but flutter my eyelashes and giggle constantly... 

Yeah, sure the last couple of sentences are an exaggeration, but that's the kind of stuff we're (those of us that are against the look) afraid of happening to Ashley with this "character development" and bioware's "artistic vision" BS.

Functional? not quite.... there's hardly any armor on it at all. Not for a soldier or even an infiltrator or vanguard. Maybe if she was an adept or sentinal now... or an assassin like Thane. If that was the case... (AND SHE STILL TURNED OUT TO BE THE SAME ASH THAT I LOVE) then I would be totally fine with the outfit (minus the stupid skirt) as it provides more mobility for stealthy situations. (Like when Thane drops through the vents and kills everyone in 5 seconds. 

I gotta admit, if Ash did something like that... I'd probably have to change my pants.

I admit, it doesn't look half bad (in fact, it's rather hot).... but like I've said multiple times... that's not really the issue. It's what this may be a precursor to.

I swear if it's not one thing for people to nitpick it's another.  Gross exagerations all of them, Reed.  "Space bimbo"?  Really? 

Also that's not a skirt.  It's a jacket. Over pants.  And where do you see garter belts?

Also, when I said character development I meant where her character is and what she's been doing.  Her job might dictate that she's not always in heavy armor.  What else do you want her to wear?  A burqa?  Maybe some baggy sweatpants and a loose kitten sweater?  God forbid an attractive woman wears something form fitting.

If they ruin Ash's character for ME3 it will have NOTHING to do with the way she looks.

Someone else fighting the good fight! I must be looking at a different picture as well. I could only wish that a skirt & garters were an option. 

I still think that the bulky armor is funny ... little to none mobility and one biotic hit and you are down, struggling like a turtle to get back up.

Which is why I said in my last post that I would be FINE with that, as long as they keep her basically the same Ashley personality wise. If she's some badass infiltrator specialist or w/e... that's cool. 

To me, the outfit doesn't say that... it says bioware putting her in form fitting armor to make her appeal to more fans. And if they are willing to do that, what else are they willing to compromise? 

I have no problem with women wearing things that show of their physique... their bodies are one of the most beautiful things in the world. I love to look at them! lmao

I'm just trying to express my concerns over what may or may not happen to one of my favorite characters of all time. I don't mean to intentionally ****** anyone off... especially not other Ash fans, but if I have something to say... I'm gonna say it. (probably why I like Ash so much! lol)

That being said... I hadn't fully gotten caught up on the thread since once I saw your post... I just had to reply! (come on, that happens to everyone right? lol)
I don't HATE that outfit and complain cause she is wearing it, but I'm complaining about what it may stand for. (seriously, there IS a difference... I think. lol)

Anyway, I feel like an ass after seeing that tweet.... makes it seem like I was just looking to cause trouble, which I wasn't. So, I apologize.

Expressing your concern on an issue your passionate about is not a crime sarge.  :happy:  I sympathize to your concerns for sure and most definitely don't want personality change for Ash either.  At least not in the sense that she's a different person all together.  I love the personality she had and do expect it to have grown... In which case it can only get better not worse.. <3  I hope haha
