Most people used to regard me as a bit of a tomboy and back than "Tomboy" and "Crying" didn't go together in my eyes.

I looked feminine again. Just like when I was seventeen. Old friends looked at me in an odd way, Anderson even looked at me in a disapproving manner, but new ones didn't. Infact they only ever knew feminine Ash and they seemed to like it as much as me. It had made me more confident than I had been in a long time.

Just for the reader: Ash & Shepard are still not together again yet. There's still much stuff to discuss ... however, they're friends for now.

Shepard is pushing the door button of Ashley's cabin, but there's no answer.
Shepard: Ashley, everything alright? It's already 8:00am ... did you oversleep? Wake up!
After waiting for a minute or two, he pushes the button again - still no response.
Shepard: C'mon, Ash ... that's not funny. Remember what I said yesterday? We need to get up early for an important job on Thessia. Wake up!
Still no response.
Shepard: You don't want me to come in? I mean ... I don't want to run into an awkward situation ... okay ... I'm coming in!
He enters Ashley's cabin. The lights are off, Ashley is not in her bed.
Shepard: That's not funny. There's no time for hide'n'seek, Ash. I need you in the CIC ASAP ...
Suddenly someone groans. It's Ashley - she's lying next to the bed so Shepard wasn't able to see her from the door. At least she is not sleeping naked.
Shepard: Ashley! What happened?
Ashley: ... ugh ... feel like sh*t ... bad food ... guess ...
Shepard: Oh man ... Ash, c'mon, get up. I'll help you.
He helps Ashley getting up. Awkward situation since the nightgown is thin and the sensation of her warm skin reminds Shepard of the night before Ilos.
Ashley: Thanks Skip ... don't look at me - if I look like I feel I should really be a mess.
Shepard: You're fine ... so far. Okay, the light's are off ...
Ashley: "Thank you". And it's better they're off. ... how late is it?
Shepard: Just few minutes past eight. We had a meeting half an hour ago, about our next mission, but could give you a synopsis, if you want.
Ashley: "Great" ... give me a few, okay? I'll need to get myself arranged ... see you in the CIC.
Shepard: Mind to tell me what happened last evening?
Ashley: It's ... nothing. Had something to think about. And maybe had a glas wine. Or two.
Shepard: Hmm ... "Serrice Ice Brandy" maybe?
Ashley: Maybe.
Shepard: Just a guess. Doctor Chakwas was missing her bottle yesterday. Seems you found it.
Ashley: Seems so. Skip ... I'll see you in the CIC, okay?
Shepard: Okay. And Ashley: you know you can talk to me. Don't give up hope. We're going to do this job and everything will be fine one day. I promise. Just don't lose heart.
Ashley: Skipper - told you, it's nothing ...
Shepard: I pretend to believe you - but no one empties a full bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy without a really good issue. Especially if you had to nick it from the good doctor.
Ashley: You won't tell her?
Shepard: I won't. Just want to know what made you giving up yourself.
Ashley: It has nothing to do with the mission, Skipper. I can do it, you know me. Give me my gun, point me in the right direction and I'll do my job.
Shepard: Ash ... I'd be a bad friend if I would believe you ...
Ashley: I can handle it.
Shepard: Okay. I'll see you in the CIC, Ashley.
Ashley: Thank you, ... John.
Shepard leaves the room, Ashley is alone and feels bad ...

Never felt ready to tell him, why I got drunk. Hate to lie to him. We're friends, I can trust him - but I can't tell him about my feelings ... for him. They're still there, burdened by our history. And as long as this war is going, as long as we could die any day, I won't tell him. I can't lose him again, not as his love. Need to keep the distance.

I mean, come on guys. I give you entertainment and this is how you repay me? *sigh* I could cry in a corner now... actually, I'm going to because I wanted this done last week but my laziness is a bithc... -.-

Hey, at least I try something ^^ That thread is slow, Aurora ... 4 hours and no response?
Far too long for poor Ash. She needs some action - and we're doing that action.
Miss you too, Aurora. Miss generic activity in the thread. Sure, we could use some new Ashley!input ... remember those times when we got some news on Ashley's appearance? 20 pages in one night ... at least it felt like that ^^

Speaking of: what action prefers Ashley in her off duty time? Any ideas?

Well I write whenever something good comes to mind, that I know I'won't use for my fic. And ofcourse you may roll with that idea Data, it's interesting to figure out why she wears it..even if it'll probably have a really trivial reason.

And I guess a lot of people have started posting less frequent since well, it's been a long time since ME2.
Things will probably pick up again closer to release.

Incidentally, What do you actually have to do that involves adobe?

Having replayed ME1 this weekend, I got the chance to revisit a lot of Ashley's dialog - I think anyone who writes fanfiction would get some good info they might have missed / forgotten over the months. I also switched up my squad a bit more to see the different banter, it was nice, almost like playing the game fresh.

I was thinking - You know how Mass Effect 2 had every character in their own little compartment. where do you think Ashley will be? The Main Battery where Garrus used to calibrate?

@CptData - I would have to say she would either write or read poetry. Maybe some nice Hanar literature! Or she might have her own space hamster who she plays with. My best guess!

@Brain,

About one 1500 word document short of everything. I've gotta make some packaging designed and mock up a physical model. I have to make a Fashion book cover, and a CD cover. I haven't even started making the illustration and it's due next wednesday (for CD), or much of anything else for it. I haven't written or designed a rationale for the package (basically justifying why I chose that design and how environmentally friendly is it), nor have I made the content for my CD case...

I'm a bit behind...

Oh, yea, and I have to make a poster and portfolio.

Besides my Ashley is a quite active person (doing exercises every day she's not in the field), she's reading a lot. Think she also likes writing poems, but she's a bad writer. Most of the stuff she wrote does embarrass her, especially the stuff she's writing since she's in love with Shepard.
When Shepard was gone for two years, Ashley wrote some really good poems - however those poems are rather sad and depressing. She wants to show them Shepard one day.
One of her hobbies is to explore her heritage. One of the branches in her family tree leads back to the Lee family - to General Lee of the American Civil War!
Another of her hobbies is to watch old TV series, mostly animated movies and Sci-Fi stuff. She likes Stargate SG 1 and also is a Trekkie. And she's playing computer games too and has an active account for an extranet-MMOG.

Ashley speaks at least two or three foreign languages, she's interested in European languages mostly. Her favorite language is Spanish, followed by German. She tried to learn French once but gave up: "ridiculous grammar and more exceptions than rules". It's funny she says that since German is even more complicated *g*

She's also addicted to coffee: she needs one to get moving and another one to raise her mood: tough and with less than a spoon of sugar, no milk. Ash stated once: "Coffee should be either tasty or punch you in the face."

Just a few notes on Ash. I love doing that ... and every time I do it again, her character grows more and more *g*

@ Aurora: awww sorry to hear that ... stress is awful. Hope you get your stuff done. As far as I know you, you'll excel in that field.

@Aurora; That's quite a lot of stuff. Sounds awfully stressful, hope it works out for you. (It also reminds me I still need to read a dozen books in two months...Funny thing is I know I'll hate reading most of those books. Wouldn't be so bad if I figured I'd enjoy them.)

@Data; In my view of Ash I don't view her as ever having written great poetry, but writing that ''memorares'' thingy made me think that maybe she's better at writing prose. Specifically non-fiction.

Have to say, Ashley exploring her heritage is an interesting thing to mention. I could imagine her doing that, but only at a later age somehow. I could imagine her reading some stuff of the olden days and that it would grow into a hobby in a later stage of her life.

I like Ashley_SR2's idea of her having a pet, but part of me imagines she's awful with feeding them in time . A bit like my Shepards and fish..


Btw AD, that batwoman-Ashley...I'm not sure if I'm scared of it or find it hilarious. Maybe both.

Yeah I agree, she might be able to keep one alive once settling down.

LoL no. My fiancee has a cat. I'm fine with that. But I won't get own pets. Too much trouble and I lack time. Seriously - even if the day had 30 hours and I wouldn't sleep, it's still not enough time. Know that too?

By the way: Ashley likes cats since they're clean pets and she don't want to walk the dog (which is funny - she isn't a lazy person). Also there's another reason why my Ash enjoys cats more than dogs: she loves to snuggle with 'em. Especially when sleeping late she loves to stay in bed with Shepard and her cat (if she gets one). ^^

Checking in to the Ash thread, with ME3 only 50 days away....well, the excitement is building no?

EDIT: oh I wanted to add.  It is Ash related, well Kim Brooks related.   I am not sure if this has been mentioned already and if so I apologize.
I've been playing SWTOR a bit, and have recognized some old friends in there.  It sounds like Kim Brooks does some voices and one very noticable one is the voice of a Republic trooper that gives you a mission on Ord Mantell.
It was eerie to hear her and Hale (who does the voice of the female trooper) talk to each other in the SW world.

And they were just staring at each other in the leaked footage because it's not a finshed product, the same reason she was twitching, Anderson's mouth wasn't moving and there was a guy stuck in a window.

Also no s/s romance has been confirmed at all  Just speculation.  I'm not sure what it was in the OP that suggested it was.

I had no idea you know Burt Reynolds! And you call him kitty? The crazy life some of these celebraties lead. Always the ones you don't expect it from.
(In all seriousness though, that's an awesome cat name.)

Probably, although only if you mean 'big' dogs, not those that are especially bred to fit into handbags. I think Ash would have a love/hate relationship with pets..Sometimes she loves giving them attention, taking the dog for a walk. At other moments she'd like to give the dog a kick to shut it up for a moment. (not that she would ofcourse).
