I liked Ash since the first scene in Eden Prime. All her squad killed, just saw his pal getting spiked, facing unknown enemies all alone, and yet holding firmly her rifle, ready to kill. Cool.
After the first playthrough I modded a save to experience her romance. And it didn't disappoint. I love that Ashley has convictions and stands up for them (even though hers and my Shepard's are definitely different), but always in an intelligent way, not as a fanatic, so Shep can have an actual, conventional conversation with her LI about a topic that is not either one of them or their relationship. Refreshing! Also, it could have been very easy to write her arguments in a more blatant way, but the subtleness with which they wrote her really paid off. For instance, I love when she says that the council races will always look out for themselves because it's.......human nature... heh, the way hesitates there because she knows the contradiction of saying "HUMAN nature" referring to non humans, but knowing that her point still stands nonetheless because their psychology aren't that different from ours so in a sense it's still valid. I have a weakness for that kind of nuance. And the voice acting is a big part of this, too. It's a little odd that we know almost nothing about her voice actress...
Anyway, I'm very happy to see her coming back and having a big role in ME3!

ooo a Spectre-y version sounds good.rynluna wrote...
I'd love to see the Phoenix armor make a comeback as her bonus armor in ME3 or even a Spectre'y recolor of it. : )
Since she's "able" to have armor, it's possible she'd be able to wear her casual outfit outside of the ship. Ample oppourtunity for screenshots.Cypher0020 wrote...
Yay 4 Ash's are better than 1!
Can't wait to see the new armor....
Mac Walters promised more Character development for Shepard which by extension means more development for characters interacting with Shepard. Maybe Ashley consoling a depressed/crying Sheaprd with a sweet poem?Cypher0020 wrote...
I hope there are scenes where Shep can just be normal... IE talking with Ash over dinner or something..walking around the Normandy

Oh yeah, I'm all for emotional scenes with Ashley, even with a non romanced Ashley. they did say that even platonic relationships would be deep. Gah so excited.Garrison2009 wrote...

I must admit, I do like the idea of Shepard showing a bit more...
well... humanity. Emotion. For the most part, except in LoTSB, he goes
through situations, isnt given any real time to deal with it personally,
and nobody asks how he's holding up or anything. The only two
characters to really ever do that have been Ash (In the first game) and
Liara (in LoTSB). The one scene that we were shown in ME3, of Shepard
trying to save the child in the air-duct, really has given me hope that
they're going to make it more personal and involving for Shepard. And
hopefully that carries over to his relationship with Ash. *fingers
crossed*
