Uhh, Jane is sexy too ;)
I just feel odd playing a female Shepard since I can't have Ashley *g*

Seriously ... I'm more an Ashley-dude here. She's perfect in my eyes - perfect because she comes with flaws. Perfect WITHOUT flaws is not perfect since it's boring. You know what I mean?

Right.............. By now, I understand how much you like Ash, and how you think she's pretty much the most perfect woman ever lol. And Data, you gave me some inspiration on this one.

Ashley: What are you smiling at?
Shepard: Him.
Ashley: (Looks over and notices a child playing.) Cute kid.
Shepard: Yeah, he is. Reminds me what I’m fighting for.
Ashley: Not that you needed reminding when you see innocents dying on the news.
Shepard: Yeah. Still, with everything going on. It’s nice to see somebody with a smile on their face.
Ashley: You should go get one of your model ships and join in.
Shepard: My models break too easily for that roughhousing.
Ashley: Suppose so. The big boy toys aren’t as fun as those cheap plastic dealios that can survive pretty much about anything.
Shepard: For that kid, it’s probably the best thing ever.
Ashley: That’s true. So… Uhhh. Kids?
Shepard: What about them?
Ashley: You like them, military man?
Shepard: Depends on who’s kids we’re talking about here.
Ashley: Ours.
Shepard: Then I definitely like them.
Ashley: If we ever live to have them that is.

And….WOW! I can’t believe it’s only like 48 days left until ME3 is actually out. I don’t have the slightest clue how I’m going to make it through those 3 extra days when pretty much everybody else will be playing it and posting videos on youtube. Must... resist the temptation to search that sh*t lol

Hey, who can resist a tough woman with the looks of Ash?
Dear Sir, I can't obviously.

Maybe I'm a bit exaggerating here. I just like the line "Ashley is perfect because she comes with flaws." This statement works with fictional characters since most characters lack deepness and authenticity. Ashley doesn't suffer such issues and therefore feels complete, lifelike ... "perfect". So to speak.

Couldn't handle such woman in R/L, she simply wouldn't be happy with a dude like me. However, Ash comes with a lot of attributes I (more or less secretly) admire in a woman. Must say I never met a woman like her, not even my fiancee.

And cute dialogue. What do you think, how many kids for Shepley in your universe?

My Spacer Shepard? He has two, (younger daughter) Joan River Williams and (older son) William Hunter Shepard.

Easily. Don't look. ;)

And 51 kids. OBVIOUSLY.

Seriously? I don't know. I like the sound of them having two. And that's really all my Shepard can handle right there. He's earthborn and gets cracked up easily. If Ashley wanted more kids after that, he'd tell her to buy a dog.

Aurora: naah ... my Shepard didn't make Ash preggy in that Ilos night.

I can see making one in the night before the final battle in ME3. Dunno if that's going to happen, it won't really fit to the given situation. Also I believe Ash & Shep want to have a time where they simply enjoy each other: they couldn't as long as the war was lasting and they won't once they became parents.

They simply need some time for each other. Mostly romantic stuff but also very longing & sexual.

Meh. I don't really care when they have children if they have them at all. I'm just playing around, my headcanon's already full of angst and trauma, Sheppy doesn't need the stress of a child while he's at it.

Think your head will produce less "angsty and traumatic" thoughts once ME3 is done, Shepard alive and loving Ashley.

At least I hope for such ending. Sappy happy ending. Something that tells us: "yep, this is it. It's worth to went through hell three times." Bet Ash won't ever leave Shepard and vice versa since both had to fight so hard to come together.

:)

I thought, I'd drop in for a quick 'hello', while I wait for the Amalur demo to be available to download and wish my fellow Ash fans a great 2012. March is getting closer. Hurray!

Yeah. Shepard's life isn't easy, never has been. He gets a helping hand from Ash at ME1, a kick to the nuts in 2 after the Cerberus thing, and contemplates drinking again by the time 3 rolls around - that is, if Ash rejects him. If they get back together... well, he'll be one happy camper :)

Hey elektrego. You're missed here too ^^

Aurora: depends on Shepard's past. Since my canon!Shep is spacer and a warhero, he had a decent life before he became a Spectre. However, the events in ME1 and especially in ME2 damaged him in more than one way. The rejection of Ashley was the worst part - at least in my canon he wasn't able to leave the cabin for several days while in transit to the next mission. Basically he broke down, not because his former love rejected him - he lost hope since his best friend didn't believe him anymore. The letter didn't fix much for him.

From that point on my Shepard refused to allow most emotions. He had some feelings for Tali, but more between brother and sister than anything else. He also liked Miranda since Shepard saw in her an equal one, especially emotionally. At least for a while they had some stuff in common.

I'm not sure if Shepard can take the stuff in ME3. And if he can take it, then it's because of Ashley's presence as friend (and maybe later lover). I'm not sure if he's going through ME3 without a breakdown - I can sense one - and I hope it's Ashley who comforts him then ...

------

I'm a bit surprised that love / care about can turn to dislike / don't care at all within a day or two. I couldn't care less about that female co-worker ... and I was fallen for her. She didn't even reject me ... however, ignoring does work even better I guess. It feels as if I turned a switch off ... fascinating. Emotions are complicated.

@Data,
Need I go through the two ex-wives (one of which was the high school sweet heart whom died). Elysium and the year of drug abuse/alcohol afterwards again? Or the Step-father v Father situation?
Remember my Shepard's history is fairly messed up. He only considers his life as 'getting better' when he starts the tour of duty on the Normandy (even with the beacons. Sure it's a mind-screw, but he's pretty damn eager to play the 'Big Damn Hero' role. Despite the politicial blocks he gets. Not to mention the Warhero side mission... he REALLY loved killing that ****hole.).

Meeting and falling in love with Ash was just a bonus :)

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

I think, according to leaked script that the pressure's starting to get to him.

@Female co-worker situation. Yeah, I know they are. My affection for my last few 'boyfriends' quickly turned to don't care/even forgotten about them. I liked them then, but I don't really care about them now or even bother to remember them. It's amazing how the flaws suddenly become so clear after you break up with people. First guy was overtly childish and couldn't speak proper english (not to mention that he said 'LOL' rather than just laughed - deal breaker), second guy was over the otherside of the country and clingy as hell (even bigger deal-breaker. I like hugs and reassuring pats on the shoulder, but he was smothering to the point of suficating.).

Hey I remember your messed up Shep. Overall it's interesting how he made it into N7 program. Think it was hinted Anderson pulled some strings here - so he saw something in Shepard others couldn't. After all, he and Hackett are greatest supporters of Shepard.

Doesn't mean my Shep has the same life ;) He goes through hell right in the series while yours revisits hell, so to speak. So yours is more experienced with dark times while mine has to learn more of them.
My own Shepard don't want the fame. He's a worker. Someone point him at the right direction and tells him "do it" - and he does. Shep is efficient. And somehow he grows with his role. That's all. A normal man that has to do the hero deal. I'm sure he wants to get the job done one day - and sit down and rest for a while. A long vacation.

Meeting Ashley was the most important thing in his life - he was single for most of his 29 years. Pretty much like me. Okay, my single life truly ended @ early 28 - and STARTED to end at 26. Still late ^^

----
Female co-worker ... lets put it this way: I pretend not caring for her anymore. It makes things easier since that nauseous/nervous feeling is no longer present anymore whenever I'm talking to her. Actually, I'm not talking to her anymore and she doesn't seek the conversation either. I simply gave her up after three failed attempts to have a coffee & talk with her in the company's cantin. So she might be nice but is not interested. No need to force things.
Funny, 3 or 4 years ago I wasn't able to see such obvious stuff ... ^^

Basically, the same way Shepard entered the N7s was the same way Anderson pulled Vega off Omega. Pretty much 'He's too valuable to be left in some god-forsaken backwater'. Although, the only reason Shepard was found was because of an accident. He was using his skill as an inflitrator to stay under the radar, but got sloppy during a binge and literally ran straight into an Alliance officer - Anderson himself.

Or, alternatively, Rox and Jon-mal got into the N7s before they even finished basic training because they constantly broke out of the barracks to go bar-hopping at night without absolutely ANYONE noticing. They got caught after doing it every night for two years, got tossed into lockdown then sent to the N7 the second they got out.

Speaking of, does anyone know if Ash did any kind of advanced training? You think she could handle the Ns?

Sure, why should Ashley fail the N7 training? She's a capable soldier, fought together with Shepard and grew a lot since their first meeting. I would say if Shepard pulls some strings (with or without the help of Anderson), Ashley might get introduced to N7 too.

Besides that I think Ashley just got the normal training every marine gets. However she put more effort in her career than others, wanted to cleanse her family's name etc. Think that determination made Ash to the one we know now. And she's N7 material for sure - especially when considering she's also a Spectre in ME3.

Who can't admire Ashley - either as soldier or woman?

Mostly a joke dialogue before going to sleep.

Kaidan: Good to see you up and about sir.
Shepard: Thanks. I noticed that you recommended adding Williams' name to the roster.
Kaidan: She handled herself well ground side. And, Jenkins left a position to be filled.
Shepard: Is she qualified?
Kaidan: According to her files, she's ZG certified and received nothing but good comments from her superiors in her files.
Shepard: Huh. How is she emotionally?
Kaidan: As best as she can be after seeing the chaos down there.
Shepard: *muttering to himself* She'stakingitbetterthanIdid...
Kaidan: Sir?
Shepard: Nothing. I suppose I should go talk to her.
Kaidan: Permission to speak freely.
Shepard: O'Course.
Kaidan: 'Talk' or 'flirt' sir?
Shepard: Excuse me, Lieutenant?
Kaidan: I know about your reputation Commander, more specifically, your lesser known reputation as.... I believe it was described as 'Captain Kirk' syndrome.
Shepard: Got your eye on her too, do you?
Kaidan: Speaking freely?
Shepard: Yep.
Kaidan: Back off, Shepard. I saw her first.
Shepard: Yeah, maybe so, but I saved her ass from the beacon.
Kaidan: Touche, Shepard.
Shepard: ... best man win?
Kaidan: I intend to, Sir.
Shepard: I utterly doubt it.

Would Shepard really say "...best man win?" ? He doesn't seem like the type to be anything but completely confident around women. I'm basing this assumption on all the dialogue options I've seen for Shepard with the female romance options in ME1 and 2.

Hah, that's exactly how I felt. Shepard and Kaidan fighting over Ash. Well, she is worth it.

Edit: Yeah, that's true. Most who would see someone like Jack in reality would probably ignore her, but not Shepard. He loves it when women fight over him. :P

Yep. Kaidan + Ashley works for me. So without Shepard around and without Virmire, both could have become a great couple. Too bad Shepard had an eye for her (and Kaidan is polite enough not to show jealousy) and Virmire decided for Ashley. I'm not sure if she was aware Kaidan had an eye on her too.

In short: I like Kaidan-Shepard competition Aurora suggested.

Good point Clone :)

What I also meant was that Shepard wouldn't imply that he was giving Kaidan a chance. I would more likely see a sarcastic "Good luck" coming from him, basically trying to shoot Kaidan down in his non-chalant confident way. I'm not sure what tone of voice Aurora was picturing when he/she wrote that so perhaps it was implied already. But! It's Aurora's fanfiction and they write it how they like :)

If you've got bad taste in women, then yeah.

I can't see Ashley getting into an actual fight over Shepard. It doesn't look like its in her character.

She kinda did with Liara already - at least if you flirted with both and had to decide later in ME1.

A few snarky comments, but not an all out fist fight, which is what I meant.
