Hey I remember your messed up Shep. Overall it's interesting how he made it into N7 program. Think it was hinted Anderson pulled some strings here - so he saw something in Shepard others couldn't. After all, he and Hackett are greatest supporters of Shepard.
Doesn't mean my Shep has the same life

He goes through hell right in the series while yours revisits hell, so to speak. So yours is more experienced with dark times while mine has to learn more of them.
My own Shepard don't want the fame. He's a worker. Someone point him at the right direction and tells him "do it" - and he does. Shep is efficient. And somehow he grows with his role. That's all. A normal man that has to do the hero deal. I'm sure he wants to get the job done one day - and sit down and rest for a while. A long vacation.
Meeting Ashley was the most important thing in his life - he was single for most of his 29 years. Pretty much like me. Okay, my single life truly ended @ early 28 - and STARTED to end at 26. Still late ^^

Female co-worker ... lets put it this way: I pretend not caring for her anymore. It makes things easier since that nauseous/nervous feeling is no longer present anymore whenever I'm talking to her. Actually, I'm not talking to her anymore and she doesn't seek the conversation either. I simply gave her up after three failed attempts to have a coffee & talk with her in the company's cantin. So she might be nice but is not interested. No need to force things.
Funny, 3 or 4 years ago I wasn't able to see such obvious stuff ... ^^
