And maybe the proceeding tie-breaker

I hope Kai Leng ruffs Shep up a bit. I saw that pic of Kai Leng standing on Shepard, with his foot planted on his chest. Yeah... I want to see it happen. My Shepard needs a kickin' so bring it on.

Oh missed that one. Seems BW listened to us guys. Blue ex-white pants are full of win - Ashley's uniform finally looks like one. Thanks Ryazki for that find.
Looks like all of our wishes finally made it in the game:
- CASUAL UNIFORM gets rid of those white pants and comes with blue pants
I don't recall the white pants ever being an issue. Looked fine to me.
Eh, whatever.

There were a few people who didn't like it. I was kind of ambivalent about them but now that I see it I definitely prefer the darker color. I think my main question was HEY BIOWARE WHAT IS IT WITH YOU AND WHITE PANTS?

Nah. They were the biggest issue of that entire outfit.Obvakhi wrote...

Would someone pick -white- pants for an entirely dark & blueish outfit? No, Sir, I wouldn't. And I have not much ideas when it comes to fashion. :innocent:
Yep. I was one of them. Those pants looked more like underwear than anything else. Now they're blue, far less visible and fit to the style of Ashley's uniform. Me gusta!Badpie wrote...

@obvahki you forget Shepard's armor is cutting edge. The fact that Ashley is wearing it is a great sign because Spectre's have the best gear. Also femshep is the most lethal soldier in the galaxy so you should want femshep in your squad.
Bottom line is... Shepard is the hero. He/she should have the honor of wearing the N7 armor. That's his/her iconic look, it's what made Shepard well.... Shepard.
As I said, I don't want FemShep in my squad(or a Conrad 2.0 for that matter). It just seems to me like Bioware ran out of ideas or were just looking for an easy way out.
Since Ashley's wearing it, I think it's safe to say that Kaidan would be wearing one too, right?

Anyway.... SQUEEEEE!!
They finally got rid of those awful white pants for Ashley's uniform and she looks freakin' awesome on the battlefield with her armor. To put it simply she's Ash as she should be.

Would someone pick -black- pants for an entirely white & redish outfit? No sir I wouldn't either. My ideas for fashion suck too.

A Few Screenshots
I'm really digging that blue as her color... I still love the phoenix ... but damn if that doesn't look good!
And blue pants or not, that outfit still looks horrible. Although, it's slightly less horrible with blue pants, meaning no Miranda crack when she turns around (or a less visible one).

Could someone please complain the fact that her hair is clearly covering her line of vision when she needs it the most? In a firefight.
Because if I do it, I'll just sound like an hypocrite.

Make her wear a helmet. Problem solved?
Wasn't trying to make a problem out of it. Just pointing out something I found silly.
But, at any rate, was it confirmed that helmets work like in ME1 for squadmates who wear armor?

I can point out a lot that's far more sillier than that.
And yeah, I think it does. Easy on/off switch.

Yes, I find that as I stand on another planet next to an asari and a turian fighting husks using something called biotics that a human female with her hair down will break my frackin' immersion.
"Ash! Go somewhere else! I can't feel this is real with you here. Send the quarian in your place ... she keeps me feeling this is real."

I don't get why Bioware is literally against vaccume friendly helmets for all characters (Chris basically said that they really didn't want everyone to have a helmet-- but didn't explain why), but I'm glad that Ash has one.
Also, the aesthetics of the game have changed SO MUCH since ME2. In a good way I guess. But look at the metals, lighting, shadows, and textures in general. Its not so much that they're evolved as they are completely different.
I was always put off that, in non combat situations--talking to someone mostly--if you equipped Shepard with a helmet, it would stay on. But you always so everyone else's face (excluding Tali... obviously) all the time. It was a bit dehumanizing.
On the other hand, there were times when a helmet was necessary. In ME2, at any given time, only Shepard, Garrus, Grunt... and I think Zaeed were close to properly armored. Everyone had a helmet in the first game. I was annoyed with the masks; like Shepard has to wear a helmet out of necessity, but heaven forbid I'm not able to see Miranda's or Jacob's face for one minute.
It must be a thin line, between aesthetics that work for the character's designs, keeping them unique and fluid... and overall practicality. But Ash wearing a helmet helps me since even though things have been... stylized, at least with her it's not to the point her new look has to be shoved in everyone's face at all times.
What gets me most is that Bioware could have EASILY solved this problem AND made vacuum friendly helmets-- HELL, THEY ALREADY DID!

But every time I mention this to Chris, he turns a deaf ear. Every. Single. Time. What's more, this helmet implement SHOULDN'T be any more strenuous to replacing the breathing mask. I know Chris would probably say something about them taking up too much memory, but I think this wouldn't take up ANY more memory. I'm guessing swapping out masks for full masks is the same.
