Sorry to dredge this up seven hours later, but in the ME universe, all bullets are actually just tiny bits of metal. Where snipers differ is that they fire magnetic bits in what is known as a railgun. The bullet is lowered in mass using element zero, and electromagnets fire along the length of the barrel, pulling the bullet to supersonic speeds. While I'd imagine the bullets are more aerodynamic, they aren't necessarily 'thicker' or sharper.ADLegend21 wrote...
Sniper rounds are much more damaging because they're designed to destroy with a single round. usually made of thicker material and sharper points for armor piercing and the like. Ash is tough but I wouldn't be she'd stand a few of those.

IRL, sniper bullets have much larger casings because they have larger charges behind the bullet, which gives it more power and speed. that, combined with longer (generally) barrels than standard rifles, gives them more stopping power.
WHat does this have to do with Ash? I'm sure really thick armor would be great and all for stopping handgun rounds and shotgun pellets, but the sheer kinetic velocity of a sniper round in the ME universe would almost REQUIRE kinetic barriers to neutralize. So she better have damn good shields.

The title is good and all, ADL, but I would request that you change it back to what it was. It feels like it's belittling and/or insulting Ashley's name, and by proxy, my name as well.

Shepard has already been promoted to the rank of "Commander Shepard". That's all he or she needsAurora313 wrote...
No, they're both Lieutenant Commanders. Though I theorise that Shepard might get battlefield promotions during the course of the game.

Sorry guys, you get hit by a sniper round (which is almost always a heavier round that the standard assault rifle round), you're hitting the deck hard. No exceptions.

Yeah I know. I am hoping for some kind of promotion for Shepard sometime. Ashley jumped two ranks from ME1-3, Shepard needs at least one before it's over.Aurora313 wrote...
On the official Wikia he's been listed as 'Lieutenant Commander', just calling someone 'Commander' is a shortened version of the title.

Not so. There are a lot of people who have survived being shot by 308 / 7.62.
Firearms actually aren't these magic death rays people seem to think they are. Placement of the shot is more important than the power of the shot.

Check out this new info about Ash/Kaidan
2) Cutscenes are drastically affected by your past decisions and narrative.
- The article describes an example of two seperate motion-captured animations for a cutscene were Ashley is seriously injured and if Shepard romanced her in ME1 he'll actually pick her up very "tenderly" as apposed to picking her up in a more "professional" manner.
6) Ashley/Kaidan is "a focal point for ME3" and is still some what suspicious of Shepard's involvement with Cerberus and the Illusive Man.
Wow. I can't wait to see that cutscene. I wonder how much blood will they show. Ash is near death, right? Eh, either way, I'm gonna be like this at the TV .......Then it will probably fade to black and I'll be lyk...
WOW.
Does anybody know for certain if you can import into the demo? Because I might not play the story at all if that's the case. Just stick it out till march.
Read the whole issue. This magazine called Ashley lovely xenophobe and space racist <_<.
P.S. And Kaidan is a boring nice-guy in their opinion. No Liara thrashing though, obviously <_<<_<

This is why i don't care about gaming journalism nor take it seriously.
Xenophobe AND space racist? Isn't that a little redundant? Seriously, how do these people find work?
Unfortunately, I think this series is, to many people (perhaps to some who never played it or thought about it and were scared off) a game where you shoot stuff and bang blue aliens. It's like how people assume (I once did this, sadly) GTA is just about killing hookers. I'm amazed, really; this article was supposed to cover the first six hours and it sounds like he just read some things off a badly written wiki article... guess I can't be too surprised. Still, I'm glad I skipped that one.
Yea, it's like they frequent BSN for most of their opinions, or something. And those opinions are very common, unfortunately - many ppl around here put those labels on Ashley (and poor Kaidan). The other stuff they wrote about ME3 was nothing special too, but at least they didn't try much to exaggerate, invent something or put their own meaning into devs' words like some magazines do, but I'd still prefer Game Informer to any of them.
P.S. I really hope that devs did a good job on Ashley and Kaidan characters in ME3 to convice all those misguided haters that they were wrong.

One thing I've learned about the posters on BSN ... they love to complain!
Tomorrow we are going to focus on the cut of Ash's jacket.

I didn't complain to you about complaining, in fact, I shared some of your concerns. But seriously, its innuendo and I personally feel offended because my name is Williams. Feels like it's a stab at my name too.
And just ask yourselves. If Shepard or anyone else made that comment around Ashley? Do you think they'd live to see the next minute?
