Yeah, maybe so. But as a creative person, it's my job/obligation/idea of fun to make up these scenarios and ask how the characters would react? Why do they react and how does it affect the world at large or their relationships?

Eh, it's just the artist in me.

Part 2 (short one)

Shepard: I hate this place.
Ashley: I don't doubt it. Looks like it's a been a hell of a fight here.
Shepard: Yeah and I doubt Cerberus has been back here.
Ashley: How do you know?
Shepard: The Mechs and stench of half-rotted corpses.
Ashley: You can smell that?
Shepard: Trying hard not to. I gotta tell you, every thing in me is screaming to get out of here and blow this station to hell.
Ashley: We're here now. And I'm here, alright?
Shepard: Let's just get this over with.
Ashley + Shepard approach the main landing area, stepping over the half-decayed body of Wilson.
Shepard: This guy...
Ashley
: Not a fan?
Shepard: Tried to kill me before I even regained consciousness. Used the mechs to try to do it.
Ashley: You killed him?
Shepard: No, Miranda did. Shot him in the jugular at point blank.
Ashley: Damn. OK, let's move on.
Shepard: Gladly.
Ashley: I think there might be a functional terminal over the other side of the room.
Shepard: Let's check it out.

Note, my Shepard didn't listen to the recordings from Lazarus base, so this is just as much a discovery to him as it is to Ash.

Possibly, but right now, I have **** loads to do and not a lot of time to do it in. As it stands I'm pulling an all-nighter tonight to get a lot of the work done.

Just some dialogues and some random talk about Shepard. Nothing serious

Image IPB
Confrontation ... it was written all over his face. Never imagined to see him again. And never imagined to see him again with the colors of Cerberus. This man ... is Shepard. The same Shepard I used to love. And still he's different, a new man, not the same anymore.
Confrontation of feelings ... could you love this man, Ashley Williams? The man that left for good two years ago - and suddenly returns, working for a terrorist organization? Is this the man who once stood and died for the Alliance?

Yeah, I understand. Maybe not completely because I haven't been in your shoes doing all this dialogue, but I do.;)

You know, this reminds me quite well of Jack's loyalty mission on Pragia. For some reason I have a feeling of suspense within me. Interesting.

Ah Well for random talks about Shepard's we have two brand new, Shiny, and properly run Shepard threads created by Myself (Femshep) and Ottemis (Maleshep) So feel free to use those if you've got a shepard itch to scratch. We need them to be successful.

It sounds like Ashley's going to be very useful in combat, sweet. To bad for Vega though, Jacob 2.0 unless squadmate AI is greatly improved.

Think Vega is no "Jacob 2.0". Vega seems to be more like Grunt: can take a beating and dish out more. Useful if you're a "soft class" like an engineer or something ^^ In my case, Ash will support my Infiltrator greatly while Vega keeps a healthy distance between those husks and Shep/Ash.

Think Ash was always useful - I missed her badly in ME2 since Biotics were far less useful (armor/shield blocking biotics).

You say that like Jacob isn't one of the more awesome squadmates that soaks up Damage and doles plenty of it out.Image IPB

I thought about Grunt too. Not really following whats going on with ME3 if I can help it, but if Vega can use some sort of ranged weapon then I would definitely agree. Based on my experience with ME2 but who knows.

I'm a little confused by that tweet so is Ash basically an infiltrator now and no longer the powerful tank she was in ME1?

I see it as her becoming a well rounded soldier mixed with a more cautious tactic she has taken up since becoming a Spectre.

Technically, Ashley was "free to skill" in ME1. I used her as "powerful tank" - but it was possible to make her to an "Infiltrator light" without tech skills. Was also possible with Shepard!soldier.

So consider Ashley as Soldier. However, she's the one that might be more useful with a sniper rifle than a shotgun. Guess she still can be used as tank if needed.

This is what I always turn Ashley into and I always have her wear light armor, When I was done she wasn't a tank. I always tried to have stand back and use the sniper rifle which she didn't always do.

She always felt like a tank to me cause no matter how I specced her she would never die just like Wrex. Glad to see she's still a soldier though thanks for the help.

Since my canon & my second m!Shep are both infiltrators I heavily relied on Ashley as tank. With the right skills and outfit she's more durable than anyone else - except a Soldier!Shepard ^^
Too bad it didn't make much difference in speed & accuracy to use light armor - therefore my Ash always got heavy armor even when used as sniper.

Oh, as you can see in the post above yours, it -is- possible to weaken Ashley. However, I always used her as tank since that's what she can do best. Ashley and Wrex - a pretty much unstoppable combination, work perfectly with an Infiltrator. Too bad both weren't avaiable in ME2. I really missed both, since most missions could have been much easier with them. Grunt lacks Wrex' biotics and dies a bit too often for a tank. And Miranda might come with Wrex' biotics, is very useful as teamplayer, but lacks damage output. I frequently used Zaeed as replacement for Ashley - sort of - since his role is quite similar ...

So basically James Vega is going to be the "krogan" of the squad. Seriously, he's a CQC (Close Quarters Combatant) Soldier with a carnage ability. Next thing we'll know, he'll be charging enemies and running them down like Grunt. :P
Ash always seemed like the medium-long range combatant, so I'm pretty pleased. Maybe she'll get the assasination ability with a sniper rifle. :D

Judging by her leaked skill trees you can spec her to be able to take more damage like james, but james is always going to be the better tank.
