Was there any sort of confirmation or proff that we can put Ash's hair in a bun or not?

The only times you have ever been allowed to change the appearance of other characters were DLC skin packs.  Seeing as there is no news of DLC (for good reason) I doubt it.

I hope we can. :| It might be cool if one of the alternative outfits are Ashley's original armor and hairstyle, since its pretty iconic.

Hmmm, I was actually planning to pair Ashley and Garrus up together (you know, for old times sake) on as many missions as I could.
But if they both specialize in long range weapons that might make it a bit redundant.

My own experience proves you wrong, V-rex :innocent:

In ME2 I was very successful with that combination of Thane + Garrus, Garrus + Zaeed and Thane + Zaeed. Plus: my Shepard was an Infiltrator in that playthrough. A three-man-sniper team -can- be successful, especially since sniper rifles don't really suffer any penalties. They're not the best choice against shields, but can do horrendous damage against non-shielded foes.

So I'd say Garrus + Ashley should work in ME3. I won't leave Ash behind just my fave class is Infiltrator. She and my Shepard - the deadly duo.

I really don't want to be part of a
Miranda vs. Ashley war anymore than I want to see ANOTHER Tali vs.
Miranda war, but it should be pointed out that Ashley can kill Wrex with
a single shot. Miranda is NOT in Wrex' league. Pretty much no one is.

It could be a much different story if Miranda actually had all the cool powers a sentinel is supposed to.

Believe me, buddy, my short analysis wasn't intended to make Miranda looking bad. Being a Miranda-fan by myself, I tried to be fair: biotics are heavily overrated, especially in ME2. They were useful in ME1 since you could use them all time, but since most biotics were useless against shields, they lost a lot of their effectiveness.

In short: hands down, close combat Miranda is deadly. She should have an incredible aim and fast reflexes and will rip through Ashley's shields first and take her down with biotics. There's no way Ash can survive in a direct close combat situation against Miranda.
It looks differently at long range.

However, I doubt Miranda and Ash will -ever- fight each other. Mostly because Miranda isn't part of Cerberus anymore but also since both could start growing respect for each other's skill. It isn't that Miranda has -real- issues with Ashley or vice versa or something. At least not enough to go into an open fight with live rounds ^^

Iconic because it was unique?  Or iconic because you saw her wear it first?

Because you can have Shepard wear the same armor, and if anyone was to leave Ashley with Sirta's Phoenix I armor I feel bad for Ash.

I look forward to the doses of nostalgia. And hopefully, heaps of fantastic squadie dialogue.

And she better call me skipper.

Garrus: "So I hear you hate aliens."
Ashley: ".. This is awkward."
Garrus: "Something you might want to talk over? During the crew poetry slam?"
Ashley: "... Your ability to make everything Awkward is a goddamn skill.."
Garrus: "I have to work hard at it."

Unique. And on posters everywhere. Giant publicities for ME1. Ashe in Phoenix armor. Then when you meet her again - she's still wearing the uniform.

Ashe and that outfit kind of go hand in hand, like Garrus and his visor. Or Tali and her helmet.

Another thing I was thinking about, (and this is more theoretical than anything) its what would be the intial reaction of Shepard and Ashley's relationship by the public?

I mean the two are the first and currently only human spectres and they are dating. The media would have a love affair with that!

Well considering the fact they keep it (relationship) secret I would say there wouldn't be much reaction.  Also considering the huge war going on I figure the media has bigger things to report on.

Garrus: Remember those elevator rides?
Ashley: Yeah. Usually Shepard tried not to listen to our banter.
Garrus: Maybe because it felt awkward?
Ashley: It only felt awkward as soon as you started turning on your "Garrus charm". Tali told me a lot about it.
Garrus: And, what did she say?
Ashley: "I've got a shotgun."
Garrus: Yeah, she has a tendency to say that. What does it mean?
Ashley: Maaaybe she's not that interested in you than you in her.
Garrus: Oh ... that's ... a downer.
Ashley: Sorry, Garrus.
Garrus: Ahh, whatever. I know I still have that charm.
Ashley: I'm sure you have.
...
...
...
Garrus: Now, I think I've got the reach - do you have flexibility? ^_^
Ashley: I've got a Widow.
Shepard: I'm in the same elevator, you know that?

I meant it more in a more "afterwar" galaxy type thing.

I still say they would keep it secret, they aren't exactly in a position where they can afford to reveal their relationship. The Alliance looks to them to represent the human race, fraternization between one another wouldn't reflect kindly.

And that is to say post-war allows them to be together.

I would love it if Ash quoted more poetry. It was one of the only times my cold, cruel, **** Renegade had her heart warmed.

I would love it too. And I think that Shepard - or at least my Shepard - would pick up the habit. He's read a few epic poems in his own time (His favourite is The Divine Comedy).

just a random party banter I came up with just now.

Miranda: So you two are married now?
Ashley: As close as we can be without visiting a church, yeah. Why? You jealous?
Miranda: Don't be absurd.
Ashley: You totally are! Hah! I never thought a 'genetically perfect' woman would be jealous of little old me.
Miranda: I simply asked a question and I was going to wish you both a happy and long life.
Ashley: Oh, of course.
Shepard: I love it when women fight over me.
Ashley: John! *smacks him over the head.*
Shepard: Ok. Kidding.

Lol Aurora, you make your Shepard and Ash seem like an old married couple who bicker all the time. It’s different and entertaining.

Well, I think their relationship becomes more public than ever in ME3. I don’t think Ashley really gives a damn at this point, the only thing she’s really focused on is winning and saving. It’s no secret to the Normandy’s crew that they’re together in ME3. But after… who knows? I’d say then, news reporters and such would probably get under her skin.

......And that idea totally gave me an idea for dialogue. Uhhh.....

Kallen and Ashley were voted cutest couple by the ANN in 2183. It'd be a BREAKING: Kallen Shepard and Ashley Williams back together? More at 11.

Now spit it out, son. Wanna read it.

Ashley: You're kidding me ... Sir.
Hackett: I'm not. See, you never meet Hannah Shepard I guess? Now, let me tell you a secret: she's my cousin. That's why I was trusting Commander Shepard, he's family.
Ashley: I still can't believe it. Sure, I know his father is Admiral Kaine - but this is a real surprise.
Hackett: Who do you think gave Anderson a recommendation for Shepard to introduce him to the N7 program? Who do you think gave orders to Anderson to talk to Udina to make Shepard to a Spectre?
Ashley: You, Sir? That's impossible.
Hackett: I'm just saying it. Shepard is the best.
Ashley: No need to tell me that, Sir ... he proved it already.
Hackett: Indeed. And he won't let us down in that war.

Joker: Ahaha! Oh man, this is rich!
Vega: This is what they're talking about now?
Joker: Ah, people are so slow. That's been going on for like... forever.
Vega: How long exactly?
Joker: Uh, After Ilos it was really noticeable, but they were making goggly eyes at each other since after Eden Prime.
Vega: The SR1's first mission, huh? Off the record, Shepard's got damn good tastes.
Shepard: You talking about beer?
Vega: Uh -
Joker: We're just talking about the broadcasts going on?
Shepard: What broadcasts?
Vega: You're kidding?
Joker: You haven't been paying attention to the news?
Shepard: It's not news, it's advertising.
Joker: Yes, well you're the hot spot this week.
Shepard: What? They put my face on another 'Universe's Most Desirable Bachelor' article?
Vega: Uh, not sir. Here.
Ashley: Oh. You guys looking at something scandalous. It better not be porn.
Joker: No, no. God no! It's this stupid feature on the Westerland news. Wanna watch?
Ashley: Meh, I'm game.

TV: ...Humanity's second SpecTRe; Alliance Lieutenant Commander Williams, has often looked up to her predecessor, the now Major Shepard with pride and admiration. But now, her sights seemed to be set on something more. Granddaughter of Admiral James Williams - the only human ever to surrender to an alien force - is she genuine in her bids to avenge her grandfather's dishonoured name? Or is she simply a gold digging opportunist? Details at 11.

Shepard: ... What the sh!t?
Vega: That was horrible.
Joker: I said it was bad.
Ashley: *seething.* John?
Shepard: Yeah..?
Ashley: Your father's still an Admiral, right?
Shepard: Last time I checked.
Ashley: Excuse me, I gotta make a vid call.

*Ash walks away.*

Vega: ... uh. Is she going to be alright?
Joker: I'd say she's upset.
Shepard: No, she's pissed off. And I have to deal with the fallout. Joy.
Vega: So, she's going to call your father in the military to do... what?
Shepard: Anything from asking for an arrest warrent to asking how his day is?
Joker: Who is your dad anyway?
Shepard: Admiral Malcolm Kaine.
Vega: Wha - Kaine as in the 'IRON Kaine'?
Shepard: Did I stutter?
Joker: No wonder you're such a sadist. It must of been hell having him as a Dad.
Shepard: No. I'm a sadist because it's fun. And no, he's a pretty fun guy. Just wasn't there. Military dad, ya know?
Ashley: Ok, that's taken care of.
Shepard: What did you do?

TV: Breaking news, Reporter Khasild bin Ajalani has been arrest for suspicions of corruption and sedition. More news replacing our story at eleven.

Joker: *whistles*
Vega: Haha! I love it!
Ashley: That's better.
Shepard: Wow. I didn't know Dad could do that. I would have done it sooner if I knew I could.
Ashley: Oh yes, well. A woman has her ways.

^ Hey, I love that one. Did the reporter got punched again - by Kaine this time?

And I really wanna read more about Vega+Joker talking about Ashley & Shepard. Those first lines were great. Just in my headcanon Joker had no idea for most time until ME2. ^^

Here you go, Data. That dialogue I was thinking about earlier. And I know you’re old enough to be my dad, but don’t call me son, ight? How would you feel if I started calling you father? Creeped out I bet lol

Ashley: The amount of people that have came out of the woodwork selling stories. That pisses me off. I can’t stand it, they’re leeches.
Shepard: (Sighs) What exactly was said this time?
Ashley: A whole freaking lot. It’s like our privacy has gone out the window now that the war is over. I bet that damned reporter had something to do with it.
Shepard: Why are you letting what others say and think get you so worked up?
Ashley: It just aggravates the hell out of me. People sticking their noses in our business.
Shepard: Calm down. You’re on full on rant mode, right now.
Ashley: Probably. Can’t help it.
Shepard: Well, I can’t give you free permission to kill the media. Push your luck and try Hackett though.
Ashley: That’s too bad. It would’ve really helped the situation.
Shepard: Want me to purchase a small island somewhere instead? We can live there, away from everything and everyone.
Ashley: Only if the water surrounding it is filled with sharks.
Shepard: I’ll make the arrangements.
Ashley: …I’ll cool off in a minute.
Shepard: I’m a very disarming man.
Ashley: It’s lies, you know. Half the stuff they write isn’t even true.
Shepard: Is any of it, ever?

....

;)

Uhh ... I tried to sound like Hackett ^^

And I'm definitely not old enough to be your dad. Except you're 11 or something - or I became a dad at 12. *g*

Nice one by the way - I love it ^^

She didn't get punched, she got false charges brought up against her. 'Cause Ashley is Kaine's favourite daughter (She's obviously not his daughter, but you get the sentiment.) I'll write their conversation a little later during my next break. Pulling another all-nighter tonight. I got some work done, but no where near as much as I wanted. And I'm not confident that I'll pass this assessment.

I'm 18. Is it possible? Because if it is, I'm running for the hills =P
