Pierce: Sure. Remember I told you about my life with the Shepards? Being a sister to Shep? I'm sure I told you that story.

Pierce: And so I know about that story with Admiral Kaine and his son.
Ashley: Thank you for conformation.
Pierce: You're welcome. Why do you look that sad?
Ashley: Don't you understand? I'm a Williams. Blacklisted name and such. Shepard is a g*ddamn warhero, his father has a reputation far beyond that. He's a living legend! He won't ever give his approval if things get more serious.
Pierce: You don't know him good enough.
Ashley: I do. He was one of my first COs. Never showed a sign if he knew about my name's reputation, but also gave me a lot of crap jobs. Didn't know he has an emotional life at all.
Pierce: Reminds me of a certain Lieutenant Commander. That's "you".
Ashley: Very funny, Roxanna. I'm not cold like a stone with a tough attitude that repels anyone except real men.
Pierce: Noooooo .... *acts in surprise*
Ashley: Oh c'mon, Rox. You know I'm not like that.
Pierce: You're close enough. Only few know your warm side, that includes John and myself and a few close friends too. Rest of universe knows you as Commander Williams, second human Spectre, a soldier with a fearsome reputation, elite sharpshooter and capable of taking on a dozen Krogan mercs at the same time.

Pierce: That makes you to a legend too. And cleanses your name. Don't worry, Iron Kaine won't block your relationship with John. And even if he does - it won't keep your hands off John either.

I thought it's some random meeting BEFORE Ash is meeting Kaine in person. I'm just not sure if Rox was around that time already. Also have no idea when Ashley is meeting Kaine at all - in the middle of ME3? After ME3? Or before Shepard dies the first time?

In my headcanon.
Rox - met Kaine after Mindior and after being adopted by Shepard family.
Ash - Kaine is her first CO out of basic, doesn't meet him again until Shepard's funeral. Shepard vaguely alludes to relations during their conversations but avoids details. Afterwards, Kaine keeps tabs on her. Next time they meet, its after Shepard is reinstated in the Alliance and its both social and business related (I'll know exactly when, when I play the third game.)

And when did Pierce become part of the crew?
My little dialogue works for a pre-dead-Shepard just a few weeks after the battle of the Citadel, but also could work in ME3 if Ashley didn't realize Kaine is Shepard's father when talking to him at the funeral.
Right?

she helps during the investigation on Saren and requests a transfer from Anderson in the revised 'Duet Effect'. In the old one, she was assigned from the start as a 2nd Lieutenant.

I'm not sure if Kaine's that kind of guy though... maybe he might have considered it in his teens. But not after Hannah and John.... pretty sure he'd just share his head at a PAS scenario. And he doesn't give a rats ass about names either. Unless its the meaning behind the name. In which case, he loves Ash's.
