I love Ash and Kaidan's relationship.  At least how I envision it. <3

... :(

I try to do it justice in Untitled.

@Badpie: I think no matter how exactly one envisions the Ash/Kaidan relationship, they're both such awesome, complex characters that be it friendship, rivalry, secret crush, brother-sister vibe, it's a great relationship. It feels real (at least in my head) in a way that even their relationships with Shepard don't seem real. Shep is kind of a larger-than-life figure, but Ash and Kai both have one foot grounded in reality. When they interact, it's easy to imagine two people acting the way they act... be it right now in the mall down the street from my batcave or on a spaceship 100 some-odd years in the future.

LOL!!!  Quoted for truth.  Ash and Kaidan totally have that sibling vibe going on.  I bet that's how they decided a lot of things... like who had to sit in the backseat of the Mako when Shep wanted to play mountain-climber!

Shepard: Alright guys we're gonna make a drop in the Mako an-
Ashley: SHOTGUN!!!
Kaidan: Dammit!!! I called dibs on the next one, last time!!
Ashley: Sorry LT... shotgun can't be called when we are still in the vehicle...
Shepard: *facepalm*

Some time later....

[Kaidan is sulking in the back seat]
Kaidan: *mumbles* can't believe you didn't let me ride shotgun this time...
Ashley:  You can't call shotgun early LT, look it up... it's in the rules.
Shepard: *sigh* Am I gonna have to pull this tank over?!?

:P

I feel like they share things.  In my story I like them to share without being romantic.  It's not brother/sister but definitely sibling in arms sort of thing.  They're friends that can share things they can't with other people there.  I imagine there was some innocent attraction in the "yeah s/he's cute" sort of way but it's always been important to me that even with that they two of them were just really good, close knit, intimate friends.

...which makes Virmire even worse for me. :crying:

Well said..  For me... Ash and Kai have a more brother and sister vibe.  They're close, but they argue and often give each other sh*t like family.  I agree that their relationship feels very genuine as well.  I'm also wondering if I can come hang out in your batcave. lol

I wish that was actually how you decided what planets to go to.... yeah, you got distress calls and stuff but I wanted to be able to choose to go somewhere else... and then when you came back have it be too late to help and you see all the destruction on Noveria or w/e.

That would have been sweet imo.

The batcave is my brain.  You will find much of it's Mass Effect related contents in Untitled Effect on ff.net.  LOL.  The rest has a tumblr blog that is SUPREMELY random.  But you're more than welcome. :D

@Sarge: Lol! I actually have an (as yet unpublished) chapter of Massive Epic where Ash pretty much does just that. When I put it up, I'm dedicating the chapter to you... for your uncanny mind-reading abilities!!

@Badpie: I think they can relate to each other, at the very least, because they're the ONLY humans Shepard hangs out with in ME. Unless you're counting Joker. Neither one of them expected to end up on the Normandy working for a Spectre... you tend to cling to 'normalcy' in times like that. Also, Virmire is the worst of the worst. My first playthrough I kept trying to figure out what was wrong with my XBox, since it wouldn't let me leave Garrus with the bomb. (I was not fond of Garrus early on in my ME career).

@Milla: In case it wasn't obvious before, let me just say that yeah, I'm a fan of the Ash/Kai sister/brother relationship. Especially the sibling mockery. You've got to have those every-so-slightly-mean-but-affectionate barbs. They're gold.

As for the batcave, you're welcome anytime! It's in the city of [REDACTED], which I'm sure you've already figured out, since that's the city I'm based in. There's a main entrance through the lobby of the [REDACTED] Hotel on [REDACTED] Street (I [REDACTED] above [REDACTED], lol). There's also an entrance through the [REDACTED], by [REDACTED]. It's awesome to take the batmobile out for a spin and come busting through the [REDACTED]! Let me know if you're ever in town!

Edit: Sorry, Milla, forgot about the Heroes Council software that automatically removes any reference to my location or personal life that could compromise my identity!

 omg... I feel so honored! Thank you!

Shepard: Am I gonna have to pull this tank over??!
Ashley: Oh... are you gonna.... discipline me... skipper? *seduction face*
Kaidan: I'll shut up now!

yeah, I'm a dirty perv.... lol

That would be nice. Just about every decision Shep makes would matter then. I hope the ME1 style mission debriefs are back in ME3. Thats where snarky Ash always showed herself.

YES!!!!!!

I loved the debriefings in ME1... I really missed that in ME2 ... it was only Jacob or Miranda... or Jacob AND Miranda... and whoever you just recruited.  =/ .... We're supposed to be on some important mission... you'd think everyone would want to know what's going on and/or give input! lol

I hope this returns in ME3! XD

EDIT: *obligatory saltue picture quote* :P

I don't think Ash's legs are that long in the game....

...but I'm certainly not complaining <3
