Ashley: You look completely wiped.
Shepard: Yeah, I feel it too. How long was I asleep?
Ashley: 16, nearly 17 hours.
Shepard: What? You're kidding?
Ashley: I'm not. Roxanna pulled a double-shift, ordered no one to bother you.
Shepard: *playfully* Then why are you here? Disobeying orders?
Ashley: I live here too. And I'm a SpecTRe. We don't have to follow orders that I disagree with anymore.
Shepard: Yes, there's that. But, even if she ordered no one to bother me, my alarm would have gone off.
Ashley: Nope.
Shepard: Don't tell me I slept through it...
Ashley: Yep.
Shepard: Wow. That's a first since, like, primary school.
Ashley: ... I wouldn't know.
Shepard: but, Seventeen hours!
Ashley: Trust me love, you needed it.
Shepard: How long until you go on duty?
Ashley: A couple of hours.
Shepard: Well the acting-captain's order still stands. Care to keep me company for a little while?
Ashley: I don't know Skipper, I'll have to be convinced.
Shepard: Oh I'll do more than that. Get over here.
Ashley: Nope. You'll have to come here.
Shepard: Damn vixen.
Ashley: You love it.
Shepard: You're damn right. *kisses her*

Ashley: Oh no ...
Shepard: Something wrong, Ash?
Ashley: This! Here, give it a reading. *hands over datapad*
Shepard: *reads* ... it's from Captain Theodor Schmid. Never heard of that one.
Ashley: He's one of the commanders in Hackett's fleet. His ship is the SSV Hastings. Normandy SR1 class.
Shepard: Yeah, and the point is ... ?
Ashley: He's one of my cousins. And his father was responsible why my family's name got blacklisted.
Shepard: So ... wait ... it wasn't the Alliance High Command then? So you lied to me?
Ashley: No, I didn't. Admiral Xavier Schmid was on Shanxi, together with my grandfather. Back those days he was just a Lieutenant. However, he was in General Williams staff and told lies about my grandfather.
Shepard: Wait, wait, help me: if Theodor is your cousin and Admiral Schmid was his father, doesn't it make him to a brother of one of your parents?
Ashley: No, not really. He's the husband of my mothers oldest sister. Doesn't matter.
Shepard: Hmmm ... guess you're upset because Captain Schmid wants to visit you?
Ashley: No. Read the last lines, in case you missed them.
Shepard: *reads again* - "... going to discuss this matter with the AHC. I'm sure you want to talk to them again. You cleansed the name Williams, but I found evidence you did even more damage ..."
Ashley: I'm not sure why he wants to do that. My guess here is he simply wants to finish what my uncle couldn't.
Shepard: Yeah ... but why? Seriously, I don't understand.
Ashley: Hurt feelings. Xavier wanted my mother, not her sister ...
Shepard: Your name got blacklisted because of someone's broken heart? You told me it was the AHC after General Williams' surrender and now you're telling me some stupid idiot destroyed your family's reputation?
Ashley: Yes, that's what I'm saying. Just ... no one wants to hear that. Blaming my grandfather for saving lives was much more easier than blaming him because of hurt feelings. Xavier wanted to destroy my father since he "took his love away from him". And the easiest way was to do it by destroying my grandfather's reputation.
And Xavier is responsible why my father never got promoted.
Shepard: I see ...

(Weak attempt to explain why the Williams name really got destroyed)

Shepard: I suppose I can't comment much. My 'other' name walked away with a scary reputation... and, he's still f*cking scary.
Ashley: But its still something that concerns me. I've spent my whole career trying to cleanse my family name, and I've come too far to let my family down now.
Shepard: It'll be fine Ashley. Worse comes to worst, you can always ask someone who was there. We both know an officer who served with General Williams at Shanxi.
Ashley: So we do. But that can bite me in the ass.
Shepard: Has it so far?
Ashley: ... No. But I'm sorry to say, you're placing too much hope in him.
Shepard: I thought it was every son's duty to hold faith in their father.
Ashley: Only the good ones. Or the major suck-ups.
Shepard: Thinking I'm a bit of both.
Ashley: I'm not commenting, Skipper.
Shepard: ... I dug myself a hole, huh?
Ashley: You really did.
Shepard: In all seriousness. You'll be fine Ash.
Ashley: I'll take your word for it. I wouldn't mind you watching my ass though.
Shepard: Like you have to ask!... you did that on purpose.
Ashley: Yeah, that was a free one. Ok, I'll send a reply.
Shepard: Want me to arrange a cavalry?
Ashley: No.... actually yes, just don't make it obvious.
Shepard: Okie dokie. Mum and dad wanna get together for dinner anyway.
Ashley: Hannah too?
Shepard: You want it to look convincing, right?
Ashley: Right. Ok. Go do your thing.
Shepard: I'll be back in a few.

Something like:

Ash walks out of the medbay and her hair is down and covering part of her face like it does in some of those screenshots. And Shepard has the uber happy face on and then asks if she's ok. Ash responds a little disheartened and sort tries to hide her face when he goes to brush her hair back and kiss her. Then you get the whole... I wouldn't be surprised if you left me kinda deal. Then you get the sappiness of the I love you no matter how you look kinda thing and he brushes her hair back and puts it up (we get the messy bun back! ) .... ahhh, sappy. I love it. lmao 

Then again... idk, not sure if Ash would act like that from some bad scaring. 

let's see, it's sappy, cheesy, a bit cliché, so I don't know but....I'm all for it! I could imagine something like that and it's lovely.
heh, I recently realized that I had said something incredibly cheesy myself a while back..I felt like Paragon Shep for a short moment.

Kaine: I found something. Captain Theodor Schmid, CO of the SSV Hastings. Not much in the files on him. But I know a source that could help us.
Ashley: The Shadow Broker?
Kaine: No. I wouldn't ask him ... or her.
Ashley: The Broker is a she.
Kaine: You know her, lass?
Ashley: *cough* no need to go into that, okay?
Kaine: Keep your secrets for yourself, Ashley. However, my source is Admiral Hackett.
Ashley: Admiral Hackett?
Kaine: Yes. The good Admiral has evidence for what you said. This is some kind of family feud, and he has evidence. However, he couldn't use it back in time. Schmid threatened him to release some data that proves Hackett's connections to a well known terrorist organization.
Ashley: Cerberus, I guess.
Kaine: Exactly. Cerberus was a black ops enterprise in those days. And Hackett had contact with most high ranking operatives in Cerberus. Some believe he still had until the Reaper Invasion.
However, Hackett wants to get rid of Schmid. They have their own little feud going, you know?
Ashley: Got the feeling this is a bit too big for me, to be honest.
Kaine: Yeah, I know the feeling. However, Hackett wants to cleanse your family's name as much as you. He was loyal to your grandfather on Shanxi. But he couldn't help him - that is still nagging him.
Ashley: So what's the plan now?
Kaine: You still need to talk to Admiral Schmid's son Theodor. We're doing our parts, but he must not realize anything ...

And if I had the brain-power to spare at the moment I would. Right now, I'm reading Dante's Divine Comedy. Partly because for the revised Duet Effect, I want John-Mal to be counter-quoting Ashley in their conversations. Also, because I've wanted to read it since '06. To that effect, I've also been searching around for Ulysesses by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Ya know, the classics. Wanna get a better grip of Ashley's Character. Sure, I'm getting good at her more tender and sassy sides, but I feel that I keep coming up short.

I tried to find an answer to this question in the thread, but it's just too big Anyway, how do you guys feel about the new Ashley design? I can understand they made some changes, but I can barely recognize her face anymore.. New hair probably has something to do with that though ^^

Her face is exactly the same, as in it's even using the same face scan they did for ME1. It's just got different make up and hair. 

The lighting is drastically different as well so that's probably throwing you off.

That piece of art by syllogi is great! love it.

@Soapy010; Her face isn't all that different really, Apart from some make-up and hair down. The only thing that looks different to me is the hightened nosebridge, The eyebrows were fixed by the looks of the latest official screen we saw.

I don't think she needed make-up, but that's not a big deal for me, I can imagine Ash changing her looks a bit from time to time, if she feels like it. I like her hair down, it gives her a fresh look, without any big changes. Yes it's a bit more awkward in combat, but I don't see it distacting me in game thinking "Well that looks impractical Ash.", maybe I'll use it as an excuse to rage if she happens to die in combat because of incompetent AI. The nose bridge thing remains to be seen, I guess we'll find out how bothersome that is in-game, if it's still like that.

In short, I like her new looks, maybe you'll just need some time to get used to them, but they haven't really changed her all that much. I'll probably know for certain what I think after playing the demo, but thus far it hasn't bothered me.

I like it, especially since it's confirmed her face is based on the first scan used in ME1. Also BW fixed Ashley's textures so she looks more like original Ash. Hair down is okay, new reviewed Spectre-Uniform works perfectly for me. And her new armor is dead-sexy.
