They don't. BioWare stated that Ashley/Kaidan have never met James Vega before ME3. I really... Don't know how you're reading all this from their looks. To me, it looks nothing of the sort.  Vega's maybe just a curious fella, or is making simple conversation.

So, yeah. The VS and James Vega are complete strangers to each other. He doesn't know anybody personally... not even Garrus. Everybody pick on the new guy!  No, no, no... Everybody behave and act professional. We're fighting a war here.

One thing I'm curious about is how Alliance soldier Vega feels about soldier-turned-Specter Ashley. In ME it appeared that the human military was wary of them, but as more humans join I wonder if the attitude has softened. Also, I wonder how saving/not-saving the Council affects that view. It would be awesome, IMHO, if Vega is cool with a Specter serving a human controlled Council, yet antagonistic toward one serving a "balanced" Council.

EDIT: Some of my Ashley-loyal Shepard are no longer Specters.

I don't think the game has the time to establish a well thought out relationship between two characters in the game. Unless they knew each other well from before the start of the game, but since Vega doesn't know she knows Shepard that's very unlikely.

That's why I didn't mention that. Competition could indeed occur, maybe showing some agitation between them. That could be interesting, but as you say it could still go either way. Him being Alliance soldier might get him some points though.

Growing up and being all serious aren't quite the same in my book. Teasing is one of her ways of having a bit of fun,that kind of relief might be good against all the stress of what's happening around her. At the same time she's very picky with who she'll let close enough for that and like you said, now that she has greater responsibility she might be even less open with it and the teasing remains something between her and Shep.

Ash and Kaidan fit together a little, in the sense that I could see it work, but there aren't any real signs towards it in the game.

@Abispa; that would be a nice touch, it would also be interesting to see how Ash reflects on that, does she realise she was wary like that too (although to lesser extent since she didn't really have a lot of trouble with Shepard becoming spectre), or does she have a hard time understanding him.

I was going to make my female Shepard who is loyal to Kaidan switch up and get with Vega, but I don't think she would. If I did that, I think I would lose who she is, if you know what I mean. Does anybody else feel that way? When I play as Shepard, I play as totally different person. Now, I've got two, lonely, loyal Shepards ready for ME3. What have I created? o_O

I totally know that, MBE. I mean, he couldn't go after Miranda or Tali in ME2. And won't go for Diana in ME3 (my Shep is straight, so Cortez won't become a LI for him). It just feels wrong.

Funny. I'm not saying I'm not loyal in R/L, but I enjoy some flirts of course. The co-worker I'm flirting to knows I'm taken, but it's still fun. Couldn't do the same with Shep in ME2 / ME3, since that would lead to a new relationship o.O

Hah same. My canon Shep fell for Ash like a ton of bricks. It was real. Couldn't make him move on. He's a renegade. He's not ruthless or crazy though. He just doesn't like to waste time on getting the job done. Also, blue is his colour

Now, my femShep on the other hand. Is softer, she's paragon, but isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. I like that Kaidan always had a sort of crush on her from the start. Yeah, and well, something grew from there too. I couldn't make her move on because it was real. Again, what have I created!?

Going into ME3 with two Shepards who romanced the VS and are VERY different from each other.... Damn, there's gonna be drama, heartbreak and a whole lot of lovin'

(Something like that - still doesn't feel perfect. It's a fictional farewell scene based on that hug - the last one before the battle that might take both lovers lives ...)

I don't think writers like to steal stuff  (well some do, but I like to think they write their own stuff, not that I would mind if they'd steal a line.) the writer could've checked here a couple of times, to see what fans of the character think maybe, but ultimately, we don't know. They aren't very active on this forum at least.

I don't see a planet called Sirona on the ME Wiki's planet list.  I thought she was born on Amaterasu and then her family moved back there eventually.  However, I can't remember where I found that info, so there's a good chance that I'm wrong.

Vercingetorix Outpost, Planet Sirona, 61 Ursae Majoris System.  Which, for some reason, I always want to think of as an orbiting space station. 

And it was Chris L'Etoile called her mixed Hispanic in one of his meanderings shortly before/after he quit Bioware.  (From memory, I believe it was on the Penny Arcade forums.)

Yeah, now I remember Ash was born in a colony. Just couldn't point my finger at its name. However, Williams appears to be a typical British/American name, therefore I assume her parents are from USA or maybe GB. Since she doesn't sound very British to me, USA does the trick - for her parent's heritage.

Sorry, I've been script searching. And eh... Not much to talk about. We've covered everything. From what I've read, things are gonna be good between Shepard and Ash. Only if Ashley means something to Shepard. If your Shepard doesn't care... well yeah. Things aren't gonna be pretty.

MBE: I'm pretty sure Ash is still friendly towards Shepard even if not romanced. As long as Shepard stays in line and doesn't pull bad lines of course

On the other hand - we know Ashley!LI turns out to be the -big deal-. Call it "true love, forged through drama" or whatnot - it works. And it works darn fine. Not sure how much more interaction we'll have in ME3, but I bet it's going to much longer than in ME1 (we had something like 6 or 7 longer dialogues + sexytimez, right?).

What do you think about this one? ^^

And I'm not talking about the romance. I know they can be friendly if not romanced. I'm just saying if your Shepard couldn't care less about Ashley, she's going to feel the same way. Ashley has a big enough status now to make her own choices. Therefore Shepard can't control her by using rank unless Ash trusts him. IMO, she's well and truly got the right to be cautious of Shep. Hell, if my ex died then came back.. I wouldn't care, I still wouldn't touch her with a ten foot barge pole lol

Oh, yeah. I read it last night. I haven't been doin' any dialogue. Not sure what you guys want... more sappy crap? lol

Concur in the middle part. Ash matured enough to decide on her own. Which might happen in ME3. *fg*
