If they had babies everyone else in the world would cut their own faces out of shame for never being able to be that beautiful. haha

Not if post Lazarus Project Shepard is sterile.

Anyone care to discuss how Ashley would react if told that?

Probably sad, right? Ashley is the family type, and I think she'd like to have her own kid someday to carry on the line. Then again, I can't see her leaving Shepard for that. Maybe they could just you know... steal one of her sisters babies for a while. Posted Image

She strikes me as the fun aunt, the one who crawls around on the floor and gets dirty with the kids.  Hehe.  Of course we don't know that any of her younger sisters have kids, but I have always imagined Abby as a new agey motherly type (there goes my head canon again - sorry).

There's four of them, and one of them just has to have kids! It wouldn't really surprise me if the rest of her sisters have settled down, maybe not with kids just yet. But you know, they've got their partners, maybe a house somewhere... while Ash is the one left carrying on the tradition.

Maybe, but they're still pretty young.  Ashley is 28 or so in ME3 I think (or 29 depending on how much time has actually passed). So I'm guessing her sisters are at least 27 and under.  It's true lots of people have kids by this age, but there's no rush anymore in the ME Universe.  They even said in the first book that women are able to have healthy children much later in life now.  That doesn't mean everyone will, but given the option some people might wait.  Ash's family does strike me as one though that would be very family oriented, so who knows!

I certainly don't think it would be an issue. I don't see children as being at the top of their "need" list.  I always kind of felt like if it happened later on it would be kind of a pleasant surprise.  They're busy people!  I don't see that changing.  Her reaction might be "So what you're saying is I can stop pumping my body full of space birth control?  Awesome."  Hehe

Who knows, maybe they wouldn't have kids at all.  A lot of couples don't because they simply don't see the need.

True. It's not the top position on their "to-do" list. However, it's there. They'll wait until their forties (22nd humans can get up to 150 years old) before starting something like that. They want some fun first - if their duties allow Ash & Shepard to have some free time.

However, once the two lovers are ready for the "family thing", they'll have at least 2 - 3 kids, maybe 4. Who knows? In case they have only two, they'll have a boy and a girl. In case they have more than two, only one of the children will be a boy, the rest are girls with large hints of Ashley: long, dark hair, hazel eyes and her cute nose. ^^

Good night, ladies & gentlemen

@ Badpie: did I ever invited you to that Ashley dialogue group - I'm sure I have

No, Data they won't wait until they're forty. It'll happen when it happens. One day Ash will wake up and go. "Woops. Forgot to take these."

I think it would be important to her. Most of her dialogue involves her family. She likes talking about her sisters, her parents, her grandfather, even manages to fit her great-grandmother in there somehow. They're both too busy to even be thinking about it now, but later? It's a distinct possibility to my mind.

Either my theory or that.
Ash seems to be very responsible ... she won't let it happen, right? Right?

Ashley: Whoops. Remember our last night, Skip?
Shepard: Yeah ... you were ... very attentive. So to speak.
Ashley: Not attentive enough. I forgot to take these.
Shepard:

I'm fairly certain that in a world where a guy can be brought back from the dead there is some kind of way to help him produce offspring.  And if not, adoption perhaps.  I don't see it being a deal breaker is what I'm saying.

It would be important to her. Family is Ashley's everything, and one day she'll want her own, but there is certainly no rush.

Ha! I just always assumed it being Shepard's fault. NO BIRTH CONTROL IS POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR SHEPARD!

Okay this thread is going places and I totally take responsibility for it but I think I'll bail out now before it gets weirder. haha
