PMC: if you ask me, Ashley kinda continues the tradition of tough SciFi-women. She's the new Ripley. ^^

And when I was 10, I didn't have a computer. Got my first - a C64 - at the age of 12, my first PC at 14. Played Turrican, Doom, all that sh*t. Never imagined a game like ME could become true these days.

Ripley was the first in SC Fi, and Ashley is also a great character. Games Like ME do make it fun to be a gamer. Characters Lik SHepard and Ashley are great and the story lines they put around them are great, and as to Shepard and Ash romance in my opinion it is EPIIIIIC.

1992 ftw. That's the YoB of my fiancee
Still: Ash is awesome. Even girls get lez 'cause of her ... and I can totally understand them.

Pierce: Indeed.
Kasumi: Hmm ... Ashley ...
Jack: I'm not on that side of the river, but she ... rrrrr
Liara: Threeway with Ash!
Miranda: Mudfight! Here! Now!
Tali: Kissing Ash is totally worth it!
Ashley: If I could, I would clone myself and make out with me.

so to speak :lol::lol::lol:

Yeah 1992 is okay. :D some of my friends were born '92.

When Alien first came out no one knew who Sig Weaver was and I didn't like her character initially as the movie started. She was hard, tough and very cutting in her comments ... at 14 that was making me uncomfortable. Then as the story progressed, she was proven right in her actions, Dallas was dead and the fight got serious I began to realize that I was wrong about her. She was bright, cautious and now surviving by her wits alone, Yep ... I fell in love. Then in Aliens the fact that she went back. What? I was yelling, "Don't do it Ripley!"

That is like Ash ... She is a tough, hard-shelled woman who even after taking a beating was quick to get back into the fight. My Shepard stood there looking at this woman who had just seen her team slaughtered, had almost been killed herself and was amazed. Amazed that she was not defeated, amazed that she was not paralyzed by fear and really amazed that she was ready to get back into the thick of it.

Yep, Ripley 2.0 for me! Posted Image

Definitely. Ash is a fully emancipated woman - without going down the "cheat route". She stands her ... "man" so to speak.

Nah, seriously: I never could keep such a woman like Ashley, but she has a lot of qualities I admire. She's honest, she's tough, very caring for those she trusts and loves ... and: children + carreer are things she can handle at the same time.
Woa. Admiration Level 10 achieved! ^^

Oh, wow. Super nice screenies :P

I only just got home, tonight was a success... If you get my drift. Heh, so now I'm chilling, watching TV and eating some good smarties. I'm in my element lol. I take it most of you guys have been trying out the demo? The ME2 demo was waaay longer. I suppose Bioware had to cut some stuff out to add the MP part of it. :( But honestly? I don't think I'd play the demo if it was longer and included the Mars mission...

Gotta keep the good stuff for March. ;) Won't stop me from owning in the mass effect mulitplayer come the 17th though.

^ Yeah MBE. God thanks the demo does not include heartwrenching Mars event. :)
(not really spoiler-fanmade dialogue :)

Ashley: All the blood ... ugh ... mine ... Skipper ...
Shepard: We'll get you out of here.
Ashley: Just in case I don't make it-
Shepard: Shut up, Ash. You're a tough girl, and you'll make it. I know that.
Ashley: ... ugh ... please, Skip, promise me ... *faints*
...

Yeah, I'm glad that's not in the demo. :police:

I just hope whoever writes for her now does her justice. Its one of the things that makes me nervous about her.

Yep, it was pretty sweet, the combat was about as good as I hoped, which is pretty darn good! Just like Ashley in that regard, she looked pretty darn good! Forgot to take screenshots though, ah well, there will be plenty of people doing that.

Well it's a new writer, so there isn't really anything to indicate how it will turn out, except for the guys who read the script. It seems that the optimists among us found it to be satisfactory, and the pessimists..seemed a little less pleased.

Not too long till we find out.

(Oh and ofcourse I have CPE exams on March 8 through 10...yey timing!)

Indeed, we're less than a month away from release...if you held out that long, I'd say you can wait a little longer ;)

(Also we try to keep spoilers out of the thread, just so you know.)

Indeed.

And I'm glad the Mars mission isn't in the demo. Actually, the missions we saw in the demo didn't spoil anything. At least nothing new :P

Brain... as for the writing. I kind of liked Shepard's detailed lines to a romanced Ash waaaay more than Ashley's own lines. Like the guy can pour his heart out... more so than ever before. Ashley's lines were good enough, and there's a good chance they'll break your heart. Posted Image Yay!

Of course, half of the dialogue wasn't even there, and what was there wasn't even finished. So nobody can really judge.

I like both characters lines. They fit well together and once more we get the proof Ash is the very one that keeps Shepard attached. And I love it that way.

For the rest of you (non-spoiled) guys: imagine Shepard doing the same with Ash like what he did with Liara in LotSB (the meeting in the Loft): he virtually releases all of his emotions at once. He does something similar with Ash. Multiple times.

It did fit well, together. And those two could've clearly made a happy couple if Shepard hadn't of... you know... died. Posted Image But once they get their relationship back on track... Things will hopefully go good for them. It would be a nice change for once lol

Multiple times... Haha... Got it.  Posted Image

Oh, and pleaseeeeeeeee, Data. The Lotsb loft scene isn’t even in the same league as these ones in ME3. Remember the big massive line from Shepard that sounds like a bloody marriage proposal? Yeah, exactly. You can’t compare that with Lotsb. Well, you can… but that’s not the point lol
